I ended my contract with Clio and moved to g40s but I've raced about 5 different invitationals in between and still haven't started the g40s. Bout oh my goodness the BMW 320 turbo invitational is great.

Anyone have tips on driving the 900hp lotus f1 car? I skipped that event because I have not the ability to control that throttle
To sum the Lotus's up:
Lotus 43 - Pay attention. Difficult...but probably do-able.
Lotus 72D - Don't let go. It wants your face impression on the bodywork.
Lotus 78 - Have fun. Great car.
Lotus 98T - You are ****ed. Tail happy nut job of a car. :scared: Only Ayrton Senna can drive it.

Pretty much.

The 98T reminds me off that old saying: "Motorsports, because soccer does require only one ball".

So did a few more laps on the Bavarian Legend event with the BMW M1 Procar, came close to my target of getting a time into 1:45's but just missed out but at least got on the first page on leaderboards. Think that puts me fastest with only aid as automatic clutch and also keeping car on track. A few more tenths with current setup possible for me with a more neat and tidy lap and potentially quite a bit more if I could sort out gearing and handling through Ascari Chicane. Don't have much motivation to improve so think I will leave it at that, had my fair share of fun on this combo already 👍.

Don't be afraid to use TC from time to time. I know it's not real, but especially for controller users (trying to drive the 98t) it's the best option to get consistent times out of that thing and enjoy the vintage f1 invitational. I did it with the controller and had a lot of fun (and points) in this 7 round championship.

I almost reached the top 3000 today! The first 3 places are obviously bugged, so i followed the ghost of nr. 4 and saw him driving over the entire curb at turn 1. Leaderboards definitely need some ironing.

And about those leaderboards, i have given up on ever becoming an alien like you Saidur. It would take me half a day of tweaking and restarts to get within the top 10% so it's just not worth it as my brain can't handle the precision :D

I feel like I'm not skilled enough to drive the Lotus 98T. Either I'm really slow or flying into a wall (usually after touching the throttle of any amount it oversteers to the left or right even when I'm on a straight section).

(DS4, TC, ABS, Stability Control)

I see...haven't had the opportunity to try it out on my ps4 yet. I think this beast is worth to take some time with in practice mode on Brands Hatch. I did this for 30-40 laps and after that session i got a grip with the thing.

I did traction control put the slip rate at 1% And was like, no way I'll pass on this one. But that's the great thing, I can just skip it and not look back. Thwo thumbs up for pcars!

Will have to give it a go, I race with the AI a lot lower than that, mainly because I'm a slow old git.
Me too. I have only done RW and TT so far, but I set AI at 70% and the best I can manage is a fifth, and it's the best virtual racing I've had in my life. I'm glad I'm such an average driver, AI always presents a huge challenge for me in the more sim like games. :)

I went for the root of turning off restarts to make it last for me, that way when I screw up its either try and catch up or retire.
I also stopped with restarts because it counts every restart as a race and messes up the stats. I was only restarting if the start or first lap or two was a disaster, but I prefer not restarting now anyway.

Well done 👍. Was the driving line a bit like the following video for number 4 time?: Link

They really need to fix detection of what is on track and not. One moderator said they have taken notice of cutting and won't reward points or prizes but so far they seem like they will. I wonder if T300RS will be a prize draw or for first ranking position, they haven't even made that clear.

I'm just a mere mortal, alien status is reserved for the likes of Ti-tech85 ;). This game for me feels quite easy to push close to limits quite quickly so takes me about half an hour, more or less depending on car, track and competition to be in top 5 genuine times. The trick is not to think too much and drive subconsciously, will be easier on your brain then ;).

The BMW 320 Turbo is absolutely epic to drive - its where the Pcars comes into its own. One of those cars you can drive on the limit and still have something spare to push it even more.

Im not too keen on any of the road cars but i do like the Evo X,doesnt feel as heavy as some others....definatly the best of the bunch so far imo.

Were you able to sort out who is legit and not, ahead of you?

It feels easy because it feels natural. Same applies to me although i'm not as fast. If i have a leaderboard buddy in mind that doesn't have alien status, i might spend an hour trying to beat him, but to get up the ladder against some super fast strangers doesn't motivate me as much (probably because i realize the top 10% of global leaderboards is the maximum i can achieve).

I'm getting all kinds of troubles to setup the Formula C properly.

I found it very understeery on stock setup. In order to cure that, I've made a complete mess. Since I'm a bit loss with this car, is there somebody here with some tips to tune it?

I hate how bad the Formula Rookie AI are. They are incredibly bad, even on 80%. Its a fun car ruined by bad AI. Its even worse in heavy rain.

I started a new career after the Formula Rookie season. I really don't want another year of the Ginettas, especially if the weather is fixed, and I didn't feel like trying Formula Gulf. I might return to the career though, if I want a try in the Formula Gulf.

Well I think I'm the fastest to WRS standard so far. You can quickly check sectors by hovering over times on following page: Link

If you see times above me, they have very fast first sectors, either they found a shortcut ;) or I'm losing an incredible amount of time to them as it is like they are around two seconds faster.

I mainly use ghosts usually as point of reference for quick car setup mainly to get right downforce level. If I can match / beat fastest first sector then I know I have a decent chance of doing well. I've seen the fastest alien in pCARS, Ti-tech85 at a GT6 event before, he came with his fellow alien brothers in peace ;) so not total stranger to me.

Don't give up hope of going even better than top 10%, I used to be really slow but got idea how to be quick from when I started watching F1 properly in 2009, it clicked that it is so simple with braking points and trying to brake as late while keeping as much minimum and exit speed up for all the different types of corners. I wasn't really playing racing games at time but fired GT4 up IIRC to try out what I learned from my eureka moment and went from struggling to Bronze to comfortably beating Gold times and that is without playing the game for a long time.

How do select a ghost for the community events? I've hit every button I can find and it won't select a ghost.
Do you click on 'Use This Ghost' like on my screenshot a few posts above?

I guess I should of said I'm on PS4.

For some reason my times aren't being saved in the community events, despite having clean laps. Am I supposed to do something special to get them registered?

Mind sharing that setup? I paced mid 47s with default, I gave up after watching most ghosts run through the chicanes. Kinda wanna see what I can do before it ends.

Not sure if I made car slower in last sector due to low cooling so you might be able to find some time there and a lot of the settings are still default ones so plenty to tinker with still. Setup below, best of luck 👍.

Thanks. I appreciate it. Gonna give it a go in a little while. Hopefully I don't get the unhandled exception error I was getting last night out of no where.

I got disconnected from server shortly after doing my fastest time, happened to me twice, luckily not when setting faster time and seemed to be due to Steam being down at that time. I haven't got the error you mentioned before though so best of luck 👍.

I'm not a fan of the karts. I do enjoy the LMP's, and the BMW Z4 racer is really good too. Haven't really done much else in terms of driving all the different cars. I'm a fan of the career mode though, so many options to pick from and goof off in.

I was wondering, you know how in a formula one season you can count on maybe two or three guys dominating that season? (Possibly even just one guy) well my problem is I can finish around fourth or fifth all season on any given pcars career race yet win the whole championship. I believe this is due to the ai never winning back to back, or even placing close to their previous race. One guy can win day one then day two he gets 15th.

How hard would it be for in an update to alter some of the ai to make them better than others? Since its so random I feel like there is no rivalry

That sucks. A quick glance at the first sector times and it's almost a linear progression up the board based on the (obviously shortcut) first sector time. 👎👎
