Watkins Glen - the 2nd, 3rd and 4th sweeping corners are just awesome. Currently my favourite parts of any track thus far.

And that group 5 BMW. What a monster! Definitely my favourite car of the game so far........even though I have only driven about 11 of them. :dopey:

Am slowly becoming addicted to this game. I spent most of the bank holiday weekend (all 3 days) playing it. (PS4)
 
I am getting awfully sick of the cheating AI. Round 5 of Formula B at Imola, raining throughout the practice session, okay, the game fitted wets for me. At the start of the qualifying session, the game fitted my car with intermediates. It only started raining about halfway into the session. Still, no problem.

Qualified 7th, the race starts. It's dry. On my mandatory stop, I could see it was beginning to drizzle, so I fitted intermediates. Now here's where the frustration begins. The pit forced me down into P11, with three others also taking their mandatory stop. I noticed that they were still on slicks. When we all exited the pits, I found out that they were practically impossible to catch, even with KERS. They just glided through the turns. At the double apex turn before the home stretch, reality kicked in. I was just about to take P10 when he swerved wildly inside and punched out my rear, sending me into a spin and a P16 finish. This is the most blatant form of AI cheating I have ever seen in a racing game.

Known bug and will be fixed in the next PS4/PC patch. Only when it rains from the start the AI will be on your pace, if it rains halfway through the race you are basically screwed. I suspended my career because of it and i'm just resorting to hotlapping and quick races at the moment.

@crowhop I tested what you said. Made a standard setup for the SLS, went to the garage and saved it to all, then this morning i just lowered the tyre pressures at Oulton park and saved that tune. Afterwards it was still saved for Oulton park alone and the other tracks had the generic setting I saved before.

If only 2¢ was all you needed... if you can afford the likes of, say, a GTX980 to play computer games like on some of the vids I've seen you're not just fortunate, you're winning at life.:lol:

Props to the PS4 guys though... they took a chance I wasn't prepared to on PCars filling the decent sim category on their machine and I'm glad it paid off for them. 👍

I'm clueless about specs and prices for such things, my pc is running an AMD 5450 and can just about handle the
triple crown* of ten year old pc sims

So, whats the price and numbers on one of those GTX980 things?

The classic touring cars event screwed me over too, 8 laps at Monza and the rain started pouring down one lap in. I pit to get Wet tires and around 4 other cars did, the others didn't pit at all and continued to set the fastest lap times whilst on regular tires.

980 is for the uber nerds that spend all their savings on PC parts, 970 is the most popular and strongest given the price (although still expensive), 960 is the budget bang for the buck card and also kicks current console's butts, i have one and i can run most current games on ultra and PCARS on high.

I'd have such a laugh trying to run pCARS on my pc. It'd be begging for mercy and whizzing and banging like a lawnmower :lol:

I tried the RIDE pc demo, got probably <10fps :crazy:
 
Just to add - I'm running pCARS on a laptop with GTX860M graphics (roughly equvalent to a 660/750Ti desktop card) and have everything on at least high, at 1920x1080 - it doesn't need the latest and greatest card to run well :)

(you wouldn't want it sitting on your lap, mind - gets a bit warm.....)

I'm sure there's another thread on this somewhere but how much would a peasant like me have to spend on a console beating PC? More than a console?

When i left the farm and joined the noblemen in the castle i payed 700 euros for a GTX960, i5 PC pre-assembled by someone on Ebay. It eats a PS4 for breakfast and the Xbone for lunch.

I should hope so considering that's almost as much as a PS4 and an Xbone combined. I think I'd prefer to carry on being able to afford my own breakfast and lunch for now but thank 'ee kindly for the advice sire. *tugs forelock*
 
I've been on official pCARS forum in order to see any information regarding the upucoming patches. But Christ! The place is a utter mess, an inglorious battle between apologists, who claim that there is nothing wrong with the game, children screaming about bugs and lawsuits, and a head director losing his temper and trying to be clever, even with sensible posts.

What a mess.

Really, it seems to me the very last place to seek information about pCARS development.

The career is now starting to throw me GT4 invitationals and despite the handling glitch I'm finding it easier to go round Spa than on either Forza or GT. Fantastic handling model.

I even had to change the title of a thread because it already went 10 pages off topic :lol:

Do love the communication directly with the devs though, it's constructive and helps to move the franchise forward if you can look past all the rambling. Shame GTP never had the same involvement from PD or i guess the GT series would have turned out differently. Not like we didn't try though...
