Oooh, he means the Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO? Yeah... that has no lights, just stickers or grey plastic.
I don't care if it has lights or not. Just raced it in the Ruapuna invitational (thunderstorm in practice, qualification and most of the race). No tune.
This thing is a dream to drive !! I love it !!

They say this since 1.0.
I know, but not so much people seem to have suffered crashes.
Now there's lots of them.

That maybe true, but it just goes to show that release notes doesn't mean anything.

- crashes are still a thing
- invisible objects (from Shift2) are there also
- AI unaffected by rain is another issue yet to be solved
- overall pitstop routines are still a mess

And these are just the bugs that I've found. There is a ton of things going wrong with the game since release and SMS said those things were fixed.

It's baffling that they once thought to release this beta in last November. And it's a shame that such a promising game is ruined by pure greed.

I dont know what you people are doing. I m not having any pace issues with the AI in the rain anymore and besides the too frequently dropped wheelnuts I have had zero pit issues since 3.0. And I m playing the game more than ever since last Friday.

And yeah, that Audi Imsa 90 is the hoot of the year! Loved that Ruapuna event and at Laguna Seca it was a riot, too.

PS @wowbaggerBR : Its a shame that people like you feel the need to jump to conclusions and accusations. Its perfectly fine to be unsatisfied with the current or release state of pcars but greed, Shift 3 and all that crap you are on today are just uninformed lameness.

I was wondering too. I find them not to be better rain drivers than myself now...
And I allready bought them a box of decent wheelnuts, just in case

Crank up the wastegate for more powerrrrrr!
Just used it for the first time. Seems pretty powerfull in stock settings allready.
What a beast of a car ! Almost as good asxthe Zakspeed Capri.

It's known. It came with patch 3 and it is "under investigation" as they say.
Like I wrote, they are checking the report I made to Sony after my second game crash (while I had none at all before patch 3)
welkom/welcome tot(to) de/the club

After three months, only an idiot wouldn't jump to conclusions.

Greed, Bandai pressure, incompetence, I don't know which is the truth. What I do know is tidbits of information released by WMD members here and there and all that makes me think. The bottom line is that an over hyped game was released unfinished and months of patches failed hard to fix it.

But don't you dare point this out!

And you are absolutely right. I'm on crap today and it's called Project CARS.

edit: some of those tidbits:

It indeed is, but being part of WMD, I can tell you there was not much room left from them to delay the game until everything was fixed. In my opinion, they were not in a position to delay the game any more. They had to let it out while still continue work like it was not released. It all sounded to me like a financial decision. Seemed like some third parties involved were pushing to release the game. Besides, you could feel the stress of the devs from when they didn't meet Novemeber deadline on.

The issue is in steady light rain as i highlighted it long ago. In rain or heavy rain it's ok

Greed, Bandai pressure, incompetence, I don't know what is the truth.

I ll tell you the truth: It is not perfect, far from it. But its still a good to very good racing sim and as good as they could get it done with the time, manpower and budget they had. Why not just accept that fact and instead sling around fecal matter like greed, incompetence etc.? Why does everything that isnt perfect have to be trashtalked to death nowadays?

And I honestly dont know what your problems with the patches are. Is everything fixed? No. But again, they are doing as much as they can and I m having a blast with the game after 3.0. Name me another game that has had that many fixes and feature additions in the span of 3 months. With the exception of maybe Driveclub, I dont know another game that comes even close. Again it is this all or nothing mindstate that I can not understand.

Do you know what it's like and how hard it is to be a game developer? Especially one with a small amount of employees trying to make a massive game? And also a developer with only a fraction of the budget of many major developers?

I will admit, Project Cars does indeed have many bugs (some people like me have experienced few, but others have had numerous unfortunately) but if you look beyond the problems, what you have is an excellent solid game.

"If you look beyond the holocaust, Hitler was a great leader".

Sorry, I couldn't resist because your argument is lame.

Have you looked my signature? I like pCARS, it is promising and I play it alot, but I fail to see why I should cut some slack to a game developed through years, with massive community testing and founding, which was released as finished product with tons of bugs that aren't fixed after months.

The landmine thing used to happen in Shift 2, for christ sakes. A game with EA money behind it. And in Shift, it was never fixed.

I wouldn't be so sarcastic about SMS/WMD and their product if they were more forthcoming about the state of the game back in May. They could've released the game as a beta (you know, officially), for instance. People would test it and nobody would get piss about bugs and all the 🤬. With the most serious things sorted, they could release it.

Do you know what it's like and how hard it is to be a game developer? Especially one with a small amount of employees trying to make a massive game? And also a developer with only a fraction of the budget of many major developers?

So what? Because something is hard to do you are excused to make a half assed job?

I don't disagree with you. As I said many times, I don't hate pCARS. I play it a lot, specially lately and there are lots of new games getting dust around here. Two careers going on, one just to run endless seasons of WEC other to experience other disciplines. Man, there are cars that I'm yet to drive around (and people say the game has a smal car list).

What I could say is I'm building up a healthy distrust towards SMS.

But, as I said earlier, I don't get why I should be all forgiving about its problems. SMS isn't doing me a favor by letting me play the game. I bought it as a product said to work out of the box.

I'll continue to play it, I'll continue to endure its pletora of bugs and annoyances. And I'll continue to demand improvements by being sarcastic, overly critic and pissed by crashes, landmines and etc.

Sorry, I couldn't resist because your argument is lame.

Actually, he was a great leader to give us something like the Autobahn. Or implement benefits like child support and more social systems related to health, income or housing. He was against animal experimentation, he started a anti-smoking campain. Etcetera
There were a lot of good things that he did, but yeah... there are many bad things too. However, if you look at modern day governments... are they really all that good all the time? I wonder.

I could go further against the notion that Hitler was pure evil, but let's not get into politics here. ;)

To compare Project CARS with Hitler's way of ruling a country is even more absurd than the argument UKfan made. I even find it to be extremely rude to the developers, especially the head of studio... Ian Bell.
Basically what you're saying is that he does a great job of keeping us happy (like Hitler did with his people), but in some areas he screws us over by not fixing the bugs that you like to see fixed. But you know, comparing a head of studio to a man like Hitler and probably the employees of the studio to nazi's... it won't achieve you being granted any favors, like getting the bugs fixed.

In any case, use a bit of common sense when speaking in public. SMS employees, like you, also read forums. Especially sections about their game. So it might not be handy to just blurt out frustrations in such manner.
Oh, feel free to pressure the studio into staying on the bug fixing and remind them that certain things are still to be fixed. In the right tone that is, cause there is nothing against that. :)

A lot of misinterpreted stuff

You managed to misinterpret everything and you even said that I was comparing Hitler to Ian Bell. Jeez.

Sigh. I could take my time to explain to you that my extrapolation was just a way to expose a lame argument. As I could even care to talk about the good ol' Hitler, which killed millions, including my Ukranian ancestrors.

But life is too short for that.

Nice. I really hope they do, and I really hope that harsh criticism sticks, because I'm not sure if the "hey, i love you guys, your game have bugs, but nevermind, you are the best thing ever!" would do any good.

Yesterday I booted the game again. It says I only have about 18h of play, most of them spent failing to tweak the FFB. But after three big patches and a bit more messing about with the FFB settings I’m can honestly say – it makes me happy!

PS4 + T300RS + BMW Z4/ Evo X + Spa/Brands Hatch/Nordschleife + changing weather and time of the day = epicness!

Why does everything that isnt perfect have to be trashtalked to death nowadays?

It doesn't, but when the developers lie and say "the game is 99% done, all it needs is a polish" they are setting themselves up for a massive fall and deserve any criticism they get when it's released and people find out it needs more than a polish.

That piece of BS PR talk is the only thing I really took a bit of offense with. But still, none of the points that wowbagger brought up apply. Especially the greed thing makes no sense. If they just would have been like "Ah screw it, its as good as it needs to be, lets not put any more time and effort (= money) into it and just profit!" why would they keep releasing massive patches and updates? They are getting very little back for that in monetary terms.

And frankly, looking at wowbaggrs post from tonight, it makes me think of this here, hard:

How did you get the racing line on? And Lol. Using the racing line?

So you're having a dig at this guy for using an assist that's in the game, why because it's unrealistic? OK, then let's take out the track map, position, timing from the HUD. Better take out all the other cameras apart from helmet cam, oh and while we're at it, 100% only for the AI because it's unrealistic for racers to be driving at less than full pelt.
Next we'll take out support for control pads, also make sure you're running all practice and qualifying sessions at 100% like they do in real life. No car to track reset button either, and you had better be wearing a full racing suit too!

Anything else?

No pause button you must pee in your suit
