SMS set the lifetime for racing brakes (GT3, GTE, LMP1, etc, not Open Wheelers) in the neighborhood of 8 to 12 hours. You'd have to go through a 24H race with full damage/mech failures to get to the point where you'd need to repair brakes.

Ah. I guess i should test this with street cars.

Just a question about tyre wear & AI...

I set up a quick 10 lap race at Oulton Park - by about lap 7 my tyres were well worn and it was effecting my driving so i had to come in to change them in pits - but the AI stayed out all race. Does the tyre wear not effect the AI? Or do i need to drive differently to conserve the tyres?

What car were you driving? And are you sure your tyres were really worn? I actually don't think there is any tyre in the game which is done after only 7 laps around Oulton Park. Have you checked the tyre pressures and temperatures? Maybe they were overheating.

Other than that, there were constant improvements on general AI tyre behaviour in the previous patches so I think the AI is simulated fairly well in that regard now.

May have been wets on a dry circuit

On the tyre display,is the colour change representing heat or wear? The left side was turning red,but front right was fine.

It was the Scion Rocket Bunny on soft tyres. I noticed a dramatic loss of grip after about lap 5.

If it was turning red, it was overheating. That'll run your turning performance on right turns. Smoothen out your turns and try not scrub that tire. Then, you'll be able to get more fast laps.

Don't forget to adjust your tire pressure as well. A small tweak might prevent red tires without having to change your driving style too much. My fronts go on the red side round the Glen for example, but the same pressures are fine elsewhere. Same with front left at Road America.

Pressures have given me major headaches in the past, seems a fine line sometimes.

What are the guidelines for changing pressure? Eg what would Oulton Park require?

Sometimes if you have your tires set to "automated by weather" it will give you wet tires, I've had this before,

Ok i think that was it...i changed to slick softs and i didnt have the heat issues of before....surprised the patches havnt sorted that glitch out!

Regardless of track, I tend to lower the pressures until they start to go red too easily. They should be 180-200 degrees ideally, I believe (I use UK system). If they go up to around 220 it's usually still ok but they'll turn red if it's too much higher, likewise blue if they drop too low.
I don't have a rule, I just adjust per car, per track until they appear stable. Never had Oulton cause me troubles though so yours may be too high.

Just bought the Japanese Car Pack. Went for a spin in the 86 and my perspective of PCars has started changing because of that car.

The 86 is something I enjoy and I'm finding it fun to handle bar the exception of how difficult it is to catch a slide in PCars with a controller.

The Lancer TME is also great.

I've decided I'm gonna hold my tongue with reviewing this game until I acquire a wheel for the PS4 which may be next month. Until then I'm experimenting here and there.

It's great with a wheel. I'm not a drifter at all, you can drift that car with a wheel.:PFun as hell!

I decided to try the game out with the DS4 just now, mainly so my son could attempt to have a mess around (usually I have a wheel; he sits on my lap, I control the pedals, he 'steers' the wheel, and for a 4yr old, he ain't half bad!). Anyway, upon selecting the pad and starting a race, I couldn't steer at all. Triggers worked, in game wheel was twitching and veering off to one side. Closed game, relaunched, same result. Complete lack of stick action.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hopefully we can see some patch notes by next week. What are you guys hoping to see in this next patch? I wanna see a few things make it's way to online. All im asking for in this patch online wise is a chat box and the host kick option which we know is coming. Supposedly.... The rest can be bug fixes and adjustments to things.

Just two features would do it for me. As long as it doesn't cause bugs. That's why i name those things. They not really heavy things to add into the game.

Try remapping steering assignments to the other analogue stick and see if you get the same results. Then change back to your previous setup. You could also try resetting the ds4 setup in the options menu.
