I'm checking the patch notes, believe me.Check the patch notes thread here in GTP, the Game designer/director Stephen Viljoen made a statement for the future patch ( tire model ), SMS will revert back to older tire model ( the tire physics thread back at Pcars forum ). I posted the quoted statement from there. If you read tire physics thread at official Pcars forum, you will understand the concern with 7.0 changes regarding tire heat model. Some says 6.0 was the most realistic, so in the mean time, 6.0 may be the best path to take, while waiting for the next patch to arrive ( 8.0 ) which will have another change to the tire.
But I stopped following the tire discussion on Pcars forum on a regular base, because it is getting too much to follow. There are a lot of interesting posts and remarks but there is also a lot of BS posted by people who THINK they know everything there is to know...
Now, I'm far from an expert, but the way tires overheated in Patch 6 was far from real. (On a side note: the overheating did not seem to affect the driving very much).
Granted that after Patch 7 some cars need tire pressures lowered too much (and even then taking too long for them to reach ideal temp).
There are things wrong, certainly. I did not check myself (yet) but someone on PCars posted a picture proving he came out of the pits with tires on high temperature and low pressure. Few corners later, low temperature and high pressure. (Post #3410)

So, going back to Patch 6 (or staying there) does not seem to be an ideal solution either.
I also don't have the impression that te cars feel more loose than before 7.0, something you can read in some posts on the forums too.
