Check the patch notes thread here in GTP, the Game designer/director Stephen Viljoen made a statement for the future patch ( tire model ), SMS will revert back to older tire model ( the tire physics thread back at Pcars forum ). I posted the quoted statement from there. If you read tire physics thread at official Pcars forum, you will understand the concern with 7.0 changes regarding tire heat model. Some says 6.0 was the most realistic, so in the mean time, 6.0 may be the best path to take, while waiting for the next patch to arrive ( 8.0 ) which will have another change to the tire.
I'm checking the patch notes, believe me.
But I stopped following the tire discussion on Pcars forum on a regular base, because it is getting too much to follow. There are a lot of interesting posts and remarks but there is also a lot of BS posted by people who THINK they know everything there is to know...
Now, I'm far from an expert, but the way tires overheated in Patch 6 was far from real. (On a side note: the overheating did not seem to affect the driving very much).
Granted that after Patch 7 some cars need tire pressures lowered too much (and even then taking too long for them to reach ideal temp).
There are things wrong, certainly. I did not check myself (yet) but someone on PCars posted a picture proving he came out of the pits with tires on high temperature and low pressure. Few corners later, low temperature and high pressure. (Post #3410)

http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?27185-TYRE-PHYSICS-DISCUSSION/page341

So, going back to Patch 6 (or staying there) does not seem to be an ideal solution either.
I also don't have the impression that te cars feel more loose than before 7.0, something you can read in some posts on the forums too.

And @Zakspeed_TV said on 7.0, 0.00 camber is still faster

So i spent a few hours @ Brands GP in the BMW Z4 GT3, i don't know what they have done but driving with no TC and stability seems harder now. I think driving with aids has more of a advantage and is faster,on this track anyway. Was testing cambers and to me rear -0.0 was still faster, i had to re tune the car as my old setup was pretty wild with abs only. Here are my laps and tune, lap 1 abs only lap 2 full aids.

:( Btw, have you seen this vid about 7.0 camber test :

Pressure and tire temp are still in need of work.

Yep, last night, with much attention.:)
Nicely done, think I even 👍'd it.

Like I said, it is not finished (yet), but Patch 7.0 did get rid of the tire overheating, something that bothered me a lot. So imo no need to skip 7.0 in anticipation of the next patch.

Sounds a good idea as well, maybe @steven could try 6.0 if he wanted or just straight to 7.0 :)

I saw that you followed me on Pcars Setup Database ( my user name there is GTP ), thank you and also for the favorites or rating if you have given any on my setups. I hope the setups were not bad to drive  I think I added more setup awhile ago.

Ah.... I did not realise that was you LOL...
As I remember I still use your Escort setup (amongst others).
Maybe I rated it, maybe not. Thing is: if I can't find a way to handle a car properly and don't have a lot of time, I go searching in the database, my iPad on my lap...
Once settings done, I go racing, and most of the time I just forget to rate tunes. I should though... :embarrassed:

You are still using the Escort, that means at least it's decent to drive and race :D I'm just glad real life data and my own experience can be transferred in Pcars with a little adaptation here and there :P

Looks like Ian is back on the Pcars forum.... Hope he answers are questions. So far it's not looking good.

Yeah, the tire physics thread got closed for a week with Ian as the closing poster  it's getting ridiculous anyway with more banning and general vibe of negativity.

In fact, I got invited today for one of the historic events with the Escort. Since it is not really my favorite car, I turned down AI to 85 (just to get the job done as easy and fast as possible ), and - to my surprise - completely smoked them.
Good tune !

And it's annoying because it's not like some of are swearing to him and saying " Ian you son of a 🤬 fix this crap!!!

We just giving them suggestions and telling them what's wrong. Me personally don't have a load of issues like how everyone is having. Just some things need to be fixed and clean up. Also i want new features but don't want them broken when they release. Don't be a you a know what about it.

Really? Have you seen some of the crap posted over there! I swear the ones that get kicked out of their forum, seem to migrate here. At least they respond, their trying to fix the game. It's not like SMS has the budget or staff of PD to make a quick fix. Which is still a work in progress after 2 years for PD.

Quick fix? There are bugs still in the game from day 1 and each new patch breaks something else.

Constructive criticism is one thing but some of the rubbish I have seen posted on the PCars forums is vile and completely uncalled for no matter what state a game may be in.

Until recently, I had a screen-capture of some lowlife telling Ian Bell that he hopes he dies of cancer because the game had several bugs.

Any busy forum will have to endure, to an extent, assholes and it is only when you visit other forums that you realise how lucky we are on GTP. This is a veritable utopia.

That's why i said some of us. I don't be rude to the guys at SMS. Like i said i just tell them what needs fixing/added.

That is terrible behavior. Yes we are lucky here. But I see some of them low life showing up around here. When they got banned.

The tire discusion needed to take a break since the devs are on holiday until the new year,so it would be a waste of time
30+ pages that looked very similar anyway since 7.0 was released. I too agree with @Scuderia Paul you can be a critic when the situation calls for it, as long as you are able to stay polite and put things in perspective.

On the AC forum they also recently decided to be more strict with the banhammer for the exact same reason.

Is there much talk about the console version in the AC forums ? Havent looked in them yet

Yes, it's a great community here at GTP, the best forums I have encountered. As far as PCars is concerned, forum wise, I would spend 80% of my time here rather than the official forums.
I also visit several of the other sub-forums here too, particularly Driveclub where advice from forum members there encouraged me to purchase it a couple of months ago.

On a highly unrelated note, I resumed playing pCARS after taking a small hiatus. (Too much time spent in FSX, lol.) A few days ago, I created a new career profile and selected the Ginetta G40 Cup or whatever it's called. I set the AI to 85 and distance to 60% or so percent. My god, this game is great fun. Practice, qualify, sprint, main race, all of those just add to the aspect of realism. Even though I don't get a podium every time (7th, 1st, 1st, and 4th so far) it is still a blast trying to work your way up through the field. Good stuff.

Glad you enjoying it.:) I kinda took a break from career because i been racing in a club a lot more lately online.

I've decided to restart my career completely because I wasn't able to get a drive in LMP1 after getting second in the European LMP2 Series. I just got frustrated after a dismal season in GT3 and Formula C, so I went back to LMP2 and came to the realisation that SMS had aimed too high. The game is flawed, has no fun factor, little variety and average car list. The only good things about this game are the tracks and the sounds. However, after starting my new career in Prototype 1 and having a few practice laps, I feel as though I've made the right choice.

I agree the career system is flawed (in that the ai is so sporadic in how well they compete) but if you want a good season do gt4. The ginettas are so much quicker than the BMW, Aston hydrogen, and barely quicker than the Aston vantage. So instead of having 10 different ai within 20 points of each other, you get 2-3 ai that are actually making a challenge for the player to win.

That's why they need to add more GT4 Cars that can actually compete against the Ginettas.

I've been tentatively getting back into PCARS after a long time away. I still feel a bit disappointed in a lot of ways, because my overall feeling is one of "so close yet so far". However, I do really enjoy the way a lot of the cars drive and have genuinely been enjoying some hot lapping, which is a little unusual for me. The 2002 and Lotus Formula Ford are both great fun.

Quick question: has anyone found or modded in a way to create custom opponent lineups in weekend mode? I'm on PC, if that helps. I remember once wanting to run the GT40 in a multi-class race at Le Mans, then found myself running with a bunch of GT3 cars...

So after looking at that Q and A thread over at the Pcars forums it looks like a lot of stuff that we want to see in pcars1 Will be in pcars2.... Which is kinda disappointing because that's Probably not go be until 2017 or 18. That's a long wait. But i can understand i guess. Also i didn't get a respond to my question about the ability to name are rooms online. Right now i want the online to get a big improvement. It's been little things that's been added but it still needs more work. I'm telling you guys, if they add that ability to name your room online it would be a huge step in the right direction. Also other things i wanna see:

Get rid of the lag when someone enter the room in practice and qualifying

Chat box

A better track vote system. Something similar to GT5/6

Bug fixes for online like the wrong finishing order problem, and etc.....

Ability to see settings and players before we enter the lobby

That's it. That's all I'm asking for.
