Why are GTE cars like the Corvette C7.R LM, the Aston Martin GTE, and the BMW M3 GT all in a GT3 catergory? Shouldn't SMS create a GT2 or GTE class?

Because they didn't have enough GTE cars to split them into their own class.

GTE are faster in real life, but GT3s are generally faster in the game. The Aston Martin GTE is by far the slowest in the GT3 class in-game. While the M3 could be one of the fastest ones in the right hands, in my opinion it's still one of the slower ones, but faster than the Vantage GTE.

Wait why do AI cars qualify faster time wise then they run the race? I mean just did a race and the second place car AI had a time of 1:26 to qualify in second place. But in the race his best time was just 1:29?

Some possible reasons:
- AI had less fuel in Qualy.
- If you were in 1st during race, AI didn't have clear run.
- AI difficulty setting

If I had to guess I'd say it's to do with fuel levels in quali. I've noticed from races where I had a gap on the 2nd place car that even though they had a clear run (on 100% AI) they still were significantly slower than the lap times they were setting in quali.

Could be you sped up the time during quality. I was in lotus 98 t and ai was only on 40% and if you speed up the time they do laps 10 seconds faster than at regular time

Edit: it's a bug

I don't think what it's a bug. I hadn't sped up time during practice or quali & the AI didn't set any unrealistic laptimes (I was able to get pole).

Strikes me as a bit weird Daytona or Indy would object to handing out licenses if there are no AI bots racing on the virtual representation of their circuits. One would think that as long as the tracks look the part they couldn't care less if it's used for offline or online purposes, I mean look at iracing for example..

So no ovals at all now?

So far most likely. Unless SMS release the ovals with AI. I meancome on, the AI didn't look that bad at that indy video where it was all BMW z4 GT3. Then it was another video where it was i guess a fake version of Bristol and the AI didn't look bad. Maybe they can release them and just continue to work on the AI via patches or something... Ehh nevermind.. I give up on this.

Two things

1- What's the point in doing a quick race with tires and fuel set to on? The AI never pits anyway. I don't see how thats fair in a 1 hour long race where you have to pit but the AI never does :boggled: kinda makes the racing not so much fun

2- Don't know much about qualifying But why do i have to qualify with other cars on track? Muti class qualifying is the worst since the slower cars may slow you down :indiff:

Not complaining or Whinging :) just curious i yet have so much to learn :D

Agreed. After experiencing this I've turned both fuel and tire wear off. I don't think I'll ever turn them back on because of that very reason, especially if the AI doesn't pit which isn't fair to the player. :\

Also I don't want others to dislike me for saying this, but is it wrong for me to treat pCARS like a arcade/sim racer even though it's not marketed as one? I sort of enjoy it. Please don't hate me. :guilty:

Wow I didn't realise how bad the racing on the online servers was until now, no one seems to know how to hold a racing line.
Were they going all over the place? Maybe it's their control settings they probably haven't toggled with yet. :P

Yeah but they also dive-bomb, spin you out despite being a good half car length in front, push you out of the racing line. Finally got a good race and came forth, but only because everyone else crashed each other out.

Ahhh, it's a typical thing famous in the racing genre. :P Sounds just as scarier in Project CARS like in Forza and other racing games I've played. I'm a new comer so hear this tends to scare me. *Gulp* :ill:

That game had the potential to be the best driving/racing game of its generation imo

The handling was terribly wonky though. Content was epic however
Their race conversions were second to none. Easily for me the best feature of the game. It's a shame that no other sim bothers to to that much effort into their customization. I still hold hope that some future game will though.:D

When I do 1 hour races, the AI always pits at least once, same for me.
I don't know why it works for me and for you it doesn't.

Yeah me to, in every one hour race against the AI in GT3 cars I've had the AI pit (fuel & tyre wear set to real). They pit a bit later than I did but they definitely did pit. I even believe they take on fuel which punished them as I was filled for the complete distance from race start.

Agreed. Separate quali sessons per class would be much better, like they have in WEC and IMSA SCC. I've had my LMP1 quali laps ruined by the super slow GT4's a few times. More of a problem on long tracks like Le Mans.

Guess that doesn't apply to 45/30/20/15 minute races then? so which means they do pit if the race is over 1 hour long.
