I like the sounds, track detail and driving which as a whole package feels most lifelike to me.The main complaint about AC seems to be it's lifeless. With it coming to consoles later on in the year i fully expect a full fledged game with soul....hopefully.
Thought I'd give this a quick go again to see how it is on pad, think last time I played this game was on 1.3 and now it's 9.0.
Using input 3 settings which is default one, found it still quite playable even on a knackered Xbox 360 pad and seems to have quite good feedback.

Had the game completely error out and cause my PS4 to restart tonight. First time I've encountered that.
Allot has changed they do update the game frequently. So I wouldn't be surprised tbh. AC can feel a bit dull with not much of a career it can get boring. If Hot-lapping is your thing it's great however.I don't know what it is but AC feels different to me lately, I don't know if it's the new tire model or physics changes. Most of my time is in rF2, SCE, or R3E but pCARS for a change. AC has taken a back seat for me, maybe I have too many laps in rF2, AC feels lifeless. I also wonder if there are changes to AC in preparation of the console release, I would think not but it just doesn't feel like it did a year ago. Just my opinion, what I look for in a sim isn't necessarily the next persons' preference - I do prefer historic racing cars.
Allot of simulation games turn to be soulless especially on the PC. Though I find it hard to beleive the driving aspect of it to be soulless, if it is a simulation. From what I tell Pcars is just another sandbox sim with fancy graphics and car/track roster where you can jump right in to any racing discipline you want and race/tune instantly and online support. Not much else to it. Good for people who don't have much time to play the game and go through a whole career before racing what cars they want though. Just jump straight into the action. The driving is supposed to be very good but the racing is supposed to be souless and the actual "game" part severely lacking? (Sounds a bit like GT games these days)
The racing in PCars is exciting though infact it has the best racing v AI i have played since Toca days. Even online i'd go as far as saying the best since Toca days. Having good racing does give it a soul but the career is a bit meh and a bit soul less. Sim wise or even simcade when was the last time we got a good career? How hard can it be?Allot of simulation games turn to be soulless especially on the PC. Though I find it hard to beleive the driving aspect of it to be soulless, if it is a simulation. Career wise, I really loved I believe it was gt4. It was great having the used cars section, and while I do hope pcars sticks with the always unlocked system, I do like the slow progression system
I'm the other way around, I'm an old bugger now, with nothing like as much time for racing as I did have. So the slow progression is a massive turn off for me, I love the 'do what you want' approach of P Cars in that regard.Career wise, I really loved I believe it was gt4. While not a game breaker for me, now that we actually have a weather forecast it would now be much better to have random weather. The biggest issue with PCars career is the scripted weather that just repeats the same everytime, the CLIO championship is quite fun but knowing come Oulton Park round exactly when it'll rain and exactly when the AI pit a lap or 2 early to change to wets even though its still not raining yet is just pretty much a game breaker.
Ive absolutely loved the Formula C in the career....you can really chuck them around and the racing is close and intense. I enjoyed it more than the LMP1s!
I also noticed that the AI is fantastic, taking different lines, battling, making mistakes etc. Its on par with the Grid Autosport AI..
2nd and 3rd were in front of me at Monza battling, and they both rolled it on the 2nd chicane and retired! Great to see incidents like this instead of robots going around the track.
Does the AI quality differ with certain classes or is it just improved a lot through the various patches??
F1 is technically a miles more competitive sport with ridiculously tight regulations so it would make sense if the game's AI was much more dialed in than the Touring-car like GT3 series. With enough practice though you'll do just fine 👍Could also be skill level. I find I can do gt3 just fine around 88 but formula a I can barely reach mid 70s without struggling. (Skill level may be wrong word, maybe just what car class you are more familiar with)
McLaren P1Is the blue flames coming off the 2013 Marek RP 339H base on real life? Cause i never seen a car backfire blue flames before?
That'd be great, give a little more drama to it perhaps.Talking about the career, I'd like to see it offered as it is now and also with a more narrative bent. Like the first Toca Race Driver without the personal story.
