Got bored of waiting, room up: DC'd

PB is 38.4 atm, really hope this isn't an Evora track...

Hows it going with setup mate?
Am using the setup from the last race and the car feels brilliant.
Running high 40's for qualifying but race pace is consistent low 41's that deviate to low 42's when worn.
Weirdly Im faster with the M3 even though it feels much slower (and worse).

By the way, what view are you guys using?
I tried cockpit but it feels scary not being able to see 1/3 of entire left of your car on a track like this!
Had a few accidents in the chicane and other parts of the track using that view.
Next closest was hood cam but with no rear mirrors I have to be cautious. :scared:

When I'm just messing around in free run/offline, I usually use cockpit. However in online races I pretty much always use bumper cam. It just comes down to personal preference though. I think most people use bumper cam for serious racing, but there are people who use roof or cockpit instead. I don't know of anyone that uses the chase cam... but it would be cool to know if someone does.

I use chase cam. I have trouble with all of the other views for some reason.

I think Nepalii uses chase cam. Don't know where he's been recently though.

Oh and CSL you have a new team mate.

Green... you've lost your team mate.

Dr Watson you have a new enemy 🤬 ......hehe  :D

LOL Dr Watson, if it's ok with you I'd like to give that 370Z a test run ;)
All the best with the new ride.

Sorry homes... Not like I scored any points for you anyway. ;)

But that BMW is in a better place:

Since RT was so kind as to vacate his Z though I gave it a whirl this morning. Even through the haze of the sinus infection I've been fighting since Sunday I was hitting 1:36.2 @ bronzstone; but most importantly the car is lighter, better power band, and smaller girth which is MUCH better for me. Not the driving enjoyment of a Lotus but 100% more fun than I was having in the fatty 2-door M5.

Even if my results don't change at least I'll have fun from here on out. =]

I have a decent setup which I want to tinker before I share it with you, won't be happy until I'm in the 37's. If you're ever in the same room as me before the race try watching my lines, it may help you take a second out of your times :)

I use chase cam, it's just much more preferable for situational awareness, although being unable to see right in front of my bumper results in giving people several little taps :D

The cockpits are pretty bad in GT and in my experience really only *good* if you can setup 3 monitors on a PC sim.

So I use the tried and true "driver cam" that's been the GT default since the psx. (I get tired of repeating this... but it's NOT on the bumper. The camera is almost exactly the same location as the cockpit cam, it just doesn't draw the cockpit). It has the best gauges, the best "motion", and the rear view mirror.

This is true. I just call it the bumper cam out of habit, even though I know it isn't really on the bumper ;)

I give up. No matter what I do, a 38 is out of reach. Why am I so slow here?

For the record, in the likely case I'm in D2 this week, it won't count against my record.

"Driver" cam here too with map set to 2 so I can see when cars are next to me since I don't have side mirrors.

Still can't beat a 1.45. Not had a chance to practice with anyone all week, plus had my tv stop working. Not looking good ATM, need to get a training session in & qualify tomorrow night. It's going to be lonely at the back.

Don't worry, I'll be back there with you. I'm not going to have a chance to practice or qualify again.

Business trip. Will miss the 2 upcoming races.

Cheers for letting me now Tony.

Want my setup? Worth a shot.

Also we should practice together some time today and get people qualified along the way. I'm sure you know the lines but something might come of it. :)

Tv won't be fixed until Monday. Should still make the race though, just means I've got even less time to practice & qualify.

Edit: just tried running a few laps, got a 43.9. Falling asleep :(.

Go ahead and send it. Can't be worse than what I have.

I'll be online for the next hour and a half. If I don't run into you by then, I can qualify later. 👍

Apparently I'm going out for a meal now so I won't be around lol :dunce:.

Looks like I'll quali tomorrow.

wow, no one's qualified yet?

(room closed)

eh... being sick sucks. can't concentrate enough to stay out of the walls and rode my failboat to a scorching 1'40!

I won't be doing this race either, no practice time this week: and I absolutely loathe Monaco. But I might do the spot race at Spa... And I will watch this weeks race, the pictures from last race will definitely be up tomorrow. I can't believe how much time they take, it's quite a bit. Also, because I wasn't in the race I couldn't fast-forward. So I may have to enter the race then exit just so I can fast forward, haha. ^^;

New Room - CLOSED

I thought I could edit the qualifying sheet, but it's read only for me. Outlaw has posted most of the times from tonight, but just to clarify:

GTP_Cicua - 1'38.881
GTP_CSL - 1'39.190
outlaw - 1'39.519
Minion - 1'39.877
TnJF - 1'40.235
Jay2Bad - 1'44.040

You don't mind if I park my failboat next to yours, right? :sly:

Good grief. A 1:39.5 is all my Failvette had in it. Going to be a long day in D2 tomorrow. :banghead:

Oddly enough, in Welsh's room, it ran a 38.6 even though I didn't change one thing in the setup AND I haven't run a 38 all week AND I made no changes to my lines. How does that make any sense? :boggled:
