Finally getting some laps in this car. Low 51s is all I can manage from the 18-wheeler Lambo.

Pole sitting time for the real 2012 event at Monza was 1:51.892, so you just proved we are still too fast. Not changing compounds again, but just saying...

Can I sign up as a part timer for now? I can make this saturday but after that I'm not sure.

Sure.

I would think that would be true for any series that tries to mimic the specs of the real thing. I think a level lower tire grade coupled with going 90% of IRL power would get you in the neighborhood of real lap times.

My car only had 19 miles on it (so my limiter was out of spec running SS tires), but I was running 51.4 or better, 51.000 was my best time with .3 still left in it.
I was amazed how nice this car handles without tuning, I just did some small tweaks and was good to go. With a better tune I would aim for 50.5s or better.

Sorry for the double post.
before I do any last minute practice, are the curbs (red and white strips) "track" or are they banned here? I was using them as track last night.

Since it's been a while since I have used this format, does anyone know if qualifying times actually work now? Like, it puts you in the correct spots?

Also - change in tire compound, we are switching to Sport Soft.
Far as I know it's working fine.👍

Never drove it on RH's, but SS felt adequate at Monza.:)

No PB's, just glorious German V10 sound from an Italian/German Italian car.

Won't be able to get enough sleep, going to have to miss today's race.

Thanks to everyone that showed up for the race. Sorry about the time being slightly off, that'd my fault. The OP has been corrected for PST and EST time zones. If you are in Europe you will have to convert the time to your time zone until I can get it fixed on Monday.

The race was pretty spectacular from my view (in an ugly way) as I couldn't seem to keep the car underneath me, and could never find a good rythm. My braking consistancy sucks, seems that braking in one spot on one lap is perfect, then the next lap it's too far or not far enough. I have a big problem with braking early/too late and turning into corners too early that I need to figure out how to fix.

But I guess 4th isn't bad.

On to the next!

Sorry about plowing into you. I was having the same problem.

I with a DS3 it was a nightmare. I think steering inputs had a big hand in the problem for me. I couldn't keep the car "level" entering a corner.

Congrats Rick, nice win.

Didn't think I'd get to do a race summary again. :)

This morning, I went to 4/5 on my brake bias. My times suddenly dropped by half a second, and for a moment, I had the pole with a 50.35, only for Brock to take it by around .2 seconds. On my last flier, I was even at the 2nd split, and I did Ascari well, but at Parabolica, I angled my entry wrong, causing me to go wide on the exit. Now I was in a very familiar position, in the middle of an alien sandwich, with Tony starting in 3rd.

Eep.

My start was a bit sluggish, and as expected, Tony took 2nd away, since I was awful exiting Retiffilo. An alien battle broke out in front of me, much to my dismay, as I noticed Dom's orange machine looming in my rearview. We were going too slow, and though the pack would catch back up. He then disappeared, and soon enough, Tony, Brock, and I were running 50s. I allowed them to go at it, while I tagged along. If there was a good thing using this strategy, I was overly conservative with my braking, which made for a mostly error free run.

At around Lap 11, Tony dived into pit road, leaving Brock and I by ourselves. I had a slip up, which gave me a bit of a gap when Brock dove onto pit road. Unfortunately for him, he didn't know that going in at full speed will kick him back out. I timed my braking perfectly, allowing the game to warp Brock back to pit entry, while I went for my service uninterrupted.

As I barreled out of the pits, Tony came past, but with persistence, I sniffed out his draft, putting me back in the game. For Brock, he was far behind, and presumably out of the race, so I chose to follow good ol' strategy of tagging behind someone for a few laps. That almost backfired as outside interference made me slip up a few times, including my Chihuahua jumping on my lap, and the smoke alarm going off. What saved me is Tony having some human moments, going too far off, and catching some sand, erasing the gap. With a few laps to go, I felt that I had more tires than Tony, so I went for the lead.

I only held it through T1. Actually, I all but knocked the wall down... twice. Somehow, I was able to turn it enough both times that I got back on track to continue the fight. Then the big surprise was coming from behind. With our collective slip-ups, Brock was eating away at our lead, finally catching draft by the final lap. Side-by-side we went through T1, but Tony held the lead. Brock was closing up on my bumper, putting immense pressure as we dove into Roggia. I got out cleanly, but Brock caught some sand, enough to end his courageous march. At Lesmo 2, near disaster, as I completely flubbed the corner. Yet, I still had hope, with the draft pulling me back to Tony entering Ascari. I needed to really get this complex right, and sure enough, I got the exit I wanted. Now it was the perfect scenario, knowing that my car seemed to be much better than Tony's exiting Parabolica. We both shoved it into the corner, the checkered flag in sight. Understeer reared its ugly head, but I didn't want to lift, believing that if I did, my chances of winning would vanish. Reluctantly, I dipped the throttle just a little bit, but Tony didn't.

That was the nail in the coffin.

Tony's left rear tire touched the sand, and because of my gas pedal work, my car had enough grip to slip on by. A few seconds later, I raised my orange, non-alien hand up in the air, knowing that I somehow pulled off what Travis had done so in the Triplets race.

I finally beat an alien. There is hope for humanity after all. :sly:

Had a fun race today, car's a hoot to drive, with some actual strategy I could have had a good run here, looking forward to another.

Big gratz to Rich on the win.

Did anyone else not take any fuel on their stop? I was able to do the whole race on a single tank. Although if the race was around 5 laps longer I would have been in trouble. :P

Awesome report Rich..
I've still to beat Tony (when he's not in a 100 kg ballast GT-R and I'm in an NSX around LaSarthe  ).. Not to mention Tony and Brock in the same race.

Really well done, and a huge congratulations from me!

I don't think so. I was "OK" on fuel I think.

Never a concern here. 👍

Thanks. I think running my old colors again gave me good luck. :D

I didn't even think of it until during the race.

Room open time is 18:00 GMT/UTC, Race time is 19:00 GMT/UTC ftw. 👍

Uhhh.....that's a change by 1 hour. And that means I wouldn't be able to take part anymore - have another series at 1930 UTC.

Video time! :)

Sorry for the shakiness and bluish tint. I had to hold the camera, and my TV is a lemon.

Points standings updated, race results added, times fixed and next race timer updated in OP. 👍

Excuse the crappiness on these. Shot with a point and shoot camera...

CSL's brilliant save:

carracer almost taking me out:

I thought you couldn't make the races anymore so I didn't put you on there. You still OK to make the races?

You didn't need to post that
In my defense, I wasn't trying to pass, I just messed up my braking (again). Then tired to get around the corner without, a big crash.
