Right, i meant the placement of the cars on grid. Ian has already said that he was vouching for custom championships for offline which i am too for the next installment of Project CARS

Not sure what you mean by "vouching" but he did say he will try( my words not his ) IMO if they run into trouble trying to pull this off they will just scrap it and not delay it

yes , that's what i meant. If custom championship offline should really work, then you must also have access to the virtual members you add to it. There would be no point doing that, if in every race of the championship the AI drivers and cars are random.

I would not get too caught up on the comments regarding custom championships coming in a future patch. I have been reading threads since May 2015 on the official forums about people wanting those things.

Two years have passed and we are still no closer.
When this Q&A first started I'm sure when custom championships was mentioned Ian said only about 4 people had mentioned it on the official forums so it wasn't given much priority. I find that hard to believe as it seems like loads of people want this feature. It won't happen for launch, but let's hope 2018 brings us some custom lovin'.

Well, the OP in the thread you linked to mentioned custom championships for both multi- and singleplayer and we're getting the former for sure, so we are in fact getting closer. :)

A question for the devs though, on another topic. Seeing how you guys are improving the dynamic nature of the tracks in all regards I was wondering, will we see more tiny, immersive seasonal and time of day dependent changes around the track? I'm thinking about lower snow cover on Mount Fuji in the summer, more fallen leaves on track in autumn, and maybe some of the city lights turning off really late at night in the distance on tracks where this would be visible (ex. Watkins Glen finish straight)?

I realize these are small details, but I remember that the pCARS team once considered modeling the orbits of all the planets in our solar system for authenticity, eventually settling for "just" the Sun and Moon IIRC, prompting me to seriously question the accuracy of the "slightly" qualifier in the team's name. In a good way though. :)

@The_American - Is there, or will there be, a doppler effect added to the audio in replays this time? There wasn't one in P CARS 1 & it sounded very wrong because of it.

Yeah, 93 pages on just one thread is a little bit more than four people. Lol.

http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?32381-Custom-championships-a-question/page2

On page 2 Ian states his objection- 'it is a cop out to all our career work.'

So chances of custom championships is almost nil. And I'll leave it at that unfortunately.

As we're getting rallycross, does that mean that there could possibly be a chance of Scandinavian folk racing?

It would be a great category for blowing off steam
That looks rather fun. Just a case of changing some existing cars and having a few short circuits.

A few questions relating to LiveTrack 3.0.

As we've heard that circuit conditions do not magically dry from the end of a wet session to the start of a dry session, would we be able to change the race start time or even day to have different conditions in each as opposed to having the same slots for both sessions?

^^ THis..... so much this.

Most race weekends do not have all events occuring on the same day. Therefore, while I agree with the amount of rubber on the track continuing from one session to the next, I don't like the idea of the actual weather related conditions being contiguous.

For example, most top level series will have qualifying on Saturday wiht the race on Sunday. The weather conditions between those days can be very different.

As @jake2013guy asked, will it be possible to properly set the conditions to accurately simulate different dates for the practice/qualifying/race sessions? This will also be critical for those of us on PC who use the Real Weather feature in our league events.

Correct, each session of a race weekend is configured individually. that includes Dates, Start Time and Weather.

If we configure it the way that for example a dry qualifying session starts right after rainy practice session ends, will the live track conditions carry over (track being still wet in the beginning of qualitying) or will it kind of reset between the sessions?

I remember reading about somebody having an experience similar to this. Circuit starts wet from the rain in Q.

Also, had this question last night but didn't post it.
Will there be different types of Q sessions? E.g. IndyCar oval style best of x laps alone or a knockout style.

So a question about the physics model:
Now that we have "vintage" LMP Cars with huge downforce figures, are we going to see blowover physics in PC2?

Blowover as in the front lifting and going a backflip or as in rolling over and doing barrel roles?

That would be quite an achievement if it was really done right. Like merging a flight simulator with a driving simulator; if the aerodynamic simulation was that good, could someone mod a working glider into the game? :P

That reminds me of the secret plane you could fly in Viper Racing.

As in the nose lifting on a hill crest and being flipped backwards, like Bill Auberlen in the BMW V12 LMR at Road Atlanta in 2000 and Mark Webber in the Mercedes CLK GT1 at Le Mans in 1999.

Bill Auberlen's Crash

Mark Webber's Crash

I apologize if this has been asked before, but will we have more granular control over the lenegth of timed races? Right now, we can only set in hourly increments.

For those of us running leagues, more granularity would be beneficial when couled with Tiem Acceleration. For example, if we use Time Acceleration to simulate a 24 Hour event, we would need to use x10 acceleration which would make 24 hours into 2.4 hours. 2.4 hours is 2 Hours and 24 minutes, which is not currently an option. If we could at least set race durations in 15 or 30 minute increments rather than 1 hour, it would make things much easier for those of us organizing league events.

I remember a while back they said it will be in 5 minute increments now, no more 5-10-15-20-30-45-1hr, etc. So yes, you will be able to set up a race for 2 hours 40 minutes and use the x10 to make 24 hours.
