What are you expecting from Red Bull and Adrian Newey? Any radical engineering changes from the rest?

Mallard or no mallard?

I think whichever the RB8 is will go someway as to determining which will be the more successful design. They'll have the best car again, I think.

Sadly I agree they'll probably have the best car. Hopefully it'll be a closer fight for the title though.

I don't think their nose will be as bad as the Ferrari/Caterham/Force India, but it won't be as nice as the Mclaren. I think their packaging is going to be even tighter.

I'm thinking they will have packaged things in such a genius way so that there is no bodywork below the sidepod air intakes, so there is just a flat floor beneath them. That would be cool. (Probably not feasible with the amount of things they need to cram in there, but it would be good to see, and would allow a lot more air to the diffuser.)

There is info, you skipped over that part and how I pointed it out
The big motorsports websites have quotes from Newey and RBR as a whole giving hints to what the car is.

When the car is released people are in turn going to reflect on those hints and tid bits and say "oh yes I see what Newey was talking about a week ago". So to say there isn't any info is a bit of a strech. To the degree you'd like, possibly not but as a whole there is info out there you and I both know it.

Red Bull chief designer Adrian Newey pointed out that the regulations changes for 2012 were not weighty enough to prompt major alterations in the design of next year’s car.

The Milton Keynes outfit will hence base the RB8 on the championship winning 2011 challenger with modifications to accommodate the new rules governing the design of the car, particularly to deal with the ban on the exhausts blown diffusers.

“I think that fundamentally there’s no point in doing something new if it’s not better, so our approach is certainly not complacency, so we’re not thinking: ‘we don’t have to do anything, we’ll still be quick enough next year.’ That would be enormous folly,” Newey explained.

“We’re working away trying to deal with the regulation changes. I think the restriction on the exhaust exit position is actually a very big change; it goes through the car. Other than that, the regulation changes are significant but not huge.

“So, in that sense, the car will be an evolution, it will bear a family resemblance to the RB5, RB6, RB7 lineage. It’s just a matter of pushing on, as always.”

Newey however did not promise that the car will be necessarily the quickest and as dominant as it has been this year.

“The fact is that you don’t know how much performance your competitors are going to find over the winter, so it’s get your heads down and get on with it, and you find out where you are come the first race,” he said.

^ That isn't info? If it isn't then I no longer know what info is.

However Adrian Newey interprets the regulations is more than likely the best way to interpret the regulations. Can't wait to see what the RB8 looks like. Hopefully we'll see another Red Bull-Vettel year!:D

No. I want an interesting championship fight, and someone less boring than fingerboy. :nervous:

Let's hope that RBR hasn't got the ugly nose from the CT01/F2012/VJM05. Don't want to see a winning car look so ugly

I believe we're at Dirty Dan now. Won't be funny unless you regularly watched spongebob as a kid and I think it's pretty safe to assume most of you guys aren't of the age group that did.

bahahaha. and Pinhead Larry? i dont think Seb Vettel would give it a guy name. That would ruin the fun lol.
So far we have had Kinkie Kyle, Luscious Liz, and Randy Mandy. Naughty Nancy where art thou!

Also yet to be seen is the 2012 Mercedes, with the German marque’s Norbert Haug promising: “The most beautiful car will be the one at the front.”

Is he saying the McLaren will be at the front with the other non-stepped nose teams? That would be great.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

So that means somehow Rubens Barrichello will enter in a Stewart SF3 and wipe the floor with everyone.

So, is anyone interested in a sneak peek? :D

EDIT: I got told it was the RB8, then posted it, then got told it wasn't. Typical of my F1 posts this weekend. Still not 100% either way.

Seems very mildly stepped. Which I still think is an indication of how well they will work; Red Bull to still be the benchmark.

Red Bull's nose looks like some missile from jet!
So, i guess Mclaren is the only team not to use the horrible nose.

NINJAEDIT:

Something interesting on the floor side of the car.
