You've obviously never been here then...
This guy lives in Chicago.

It's doable, where ever you live, it's just a matter of whether you're willing to deal with it.

From what I have experienced, Chicago roads aren't as bad as Minneapolis roads. But, I know what you mean. I do really love low cars but if it is kinda low but stiff that's fine with me.

Not really even doing it for less weight at this point.

I know. It's to help your female friend ;)

Everyone I know who has Teins says they are fine.

People who say this in general usually don't know what they're talking about because they don't know what to look for. I mean, if what defines "fine" to you is a coilover that supports the weight of your car than just about anything will do.

You've obviously never been here then...

Like PB said, it just comes down to how bad you want it. Looking cool that is.

I don't see why you think I won't replace them.

If you don't have the patience to save up for one of the more important parts now why should I believe that you'll save up nearly 2k for the same modification in the future when you have so many other things to save up for? And you've already mentioned that you don't care about the height. And you seem to think that the overall quality and performance of Tein Basics is good enough so why pay more for something that wont give you more?

Save money and buy what you really want the first time 👍

I know it's hard to do (hell, I still have a hard time dumping more than $500 at a time), but you will save money and headaches along the way, trust me!

I dumped ~$1800 on the final run of Fortune Auto coilovers for my MR2. I know I will be much happier with these than I would ever be with BCs, Teins, Megans, D2s, K-Sports, etc.

And street cars should have a complete interior IMO 👍

Awww jeez...

Usually the people who say this are people in Formula Drift Pro Am or other leagues. So I would trust them.

I do know where you two are coming from. The only reason why I'm not buying really nice Coilovers first is because the car will need some other aftermarket stuff done and has other stuff I need to take care of, so dropping $2000 on Coilovers when the car has other things it needs would be a bad idea. Also, I think the Teins will be fine for what I am doing. I know they aren't super awesome, but I'm young and this is my first year drifting so I won't be doing some sort of insane Formula Drift Spec build. I just want these so I can get some practice in and get decent at it. Hell, this whole car is probably just a temporary practice car.

Well, not much of an update but something.

Found that stuff for really cheap at a salvage yard today. Might sell the bumper. Keeping the lip though.

And wanna hear something fun?

My hood won't close.

I went to check my oil, then close my hood. Wouldn't close. Tried over and over and it wouldn't lock closed.

So, I had to take it off.

Looking like a tool with no hood is real fun right

Running without a hood is fun as all hell, you get the best perplexing looks. Where are the pics?

I get bad looks oh my god...

Here is one

Driving without a hood is good fun, especially when you're in a show car 240SX with a purple engine bay.
Well I am sure THEN it is fun

Going back to that same salvage yard I got my bumper stuff at on Thursday. Hopefully getting a Limited Slip Differential from an Infiniti J30.

^Nice.:)
Hey also find some FC parts up thar. :D

I went to both today, there was only one FC and it was fully stripped and gone :nervous:

So, no LSD. I decided to not get it because it is a Viscious.

I did find a Sunroof latch though. Thank god.

I was a few bolts away from getting a T3 Turbo today too... but damn downpipe bolts compact and expand and compact and they were stuck..

Heyyyy youuuu guyyyyyys.

Not much has changed with the car, but a friend and I took it out on Saturday.

First, found a Honda badge

(oh, and if I didn't mention it before... the hood came off. Long story. :ouch: )

inb4 Stock 240 and Neon hate. That Neon's actually not too bad of a car. DOHC 5 Speed with, I think, Neon ACR Suspension. Or something like that. It has some sort of fancy OEM Shock/Spring set up.

Saw the car's reflection

Bought some Bungee cords because that SUNROOF LATCH doesn't fit in my car... I guess the '89 has a different Sunroof latch then all the other S13s. Lame.

Visited a friend at work. He has the cleanest Integra I have ever seen in my life, no exaggeration. Stock, Rust free, Scratch free, dent free, low mileage Integra GSR. I haven't driven it yet, but I have gotten a few rides in it with him though. SUCH an awesome car. I want to drive it so badly. He loves my car though.

Stopped at Wendy's.

Saw a new Civic SI

And that about sums up our day.

Said friend, loves this car. I let him drive it a bit, every time I looked over he had a HUGE smile on his face. He told me it's not the fastest car he's driven, and doesn't corner as well as other cars he's driven, but it's more fun than anything else he has ever had any experience with and he finally found a car that truly made him happy. Then got sad because he had to give the keys back.

Oh, and I stumbled upon some money. Cool right?

EXHAUUUUUST TIME!

Checking out why the flark my exhaust was pointing towards the ground, diagnostic: previous owner bought a crappy eBay tip

Look at that brake reservoir cover and that Sleepy Eye!

If you have a 240 and wanna be stuntin', I recommend doing the Sleepy Eye mod. It takes 5 minutes and all you need is a wire cutter and electrical tape.

LOOK A HOOD!

My car is legal again <3

Oh, and I spent said money I stumbled across on something cool

A friend and I stayed up until 1 this morning to get everything done with the car, and started at 3 PM Yesterday. Then we had to leave at 4:30 to meet some other friends and go to some events.

Taken at <5AM

You see that OPTION 2 sticker I have on the windshield? Well, it isn't waterproof I guess, and it was raining earlier, and it flew off on the highway. Sad day.

Met the buds. THe group was this whole line up, plus me and 4 others. Crazy.

She's so pretty...

Had to put those hood pins in last night, too... long story short the hood latch assembly fell off

Parked at one of the events next to a good 240 friend. The white one is RB25 Powered.

Doin' some figgerin' at a Gas station. Had to figure out why my driver front was rubbing soooooo terribly...

A friend came over (with the white 240) and tore my wheel well liner out, threw it in my hatch, and problem solved

I like Jons headlights.
I think they're alright, to be honest.

Your old supra at the gas station?

I wish. :(
The guy I sold my old Supra to sold it like a month later to someone 3 hours up north. haven;t seen it since. That one is my friend Ryan's Turbo Supra, built 7MGTE. I was driving behind him a bit on the drive and the thing backfires a ton and it's super super fast. I love it.

I found this picture on my computer.

So a friend and I stopped to take my fender liner out, yknow? Well doing that flarked up my fender. So I had to do some repair.
HqbSoY2.jpg

The thing like, cracked. And a small little chunk was going to fall off. Bondo maybe?

Coils settled!

Now I just gotta mess around with my ride height and camber. I didn't really spend tons of time adjusting them when I threw them on, it was 12 AM and I had to get up at 4 AM the next day.

I need to put air in my tires

Walked into the garage on Saturday after I got home and saw this sitting there... wtf

Lower it more, spacers on stock wheels would be nice.
This is coming along

Thank ya. I plan on messing around with the coils a bit later this week or next week when I have more time, like I said earlier I didn't really adjust them the way I want because I needed the car to be able to move. Spacers would be super nice...

aero and wheels would really set your car off.
I'm thinking about it. I want wheels for sure but I don't know if I want aftermarket aero or OEM stuff, like a Pignose lip and Chuki skirts. Decisions..
Oh At BIR huh? Thats a bit of a drive for me....
Not for me! I live with my dad in the summer, 2 minute drive from his house to BIR.

Go anyway! It's the best weekend ever!

A week and two days before a drifting event and look what I decide to do.

Protip: If you ever decide to drop the diff from your 240 to weld or for a Limited slip or WHATEVER, Oh Lord make sure you do the Bushing and Subframe bolts last. It will make your life a lot easier.
