New tails. Friend had those clear eBay altezzas and wanted to trade for stock tails.

Sooooo I got his tails and put some work into them...
K0GwGwx.jpg

So I almost copied Perfect Balance completely. Only thing I did differently was I didn't do the Type X style reverse lights.

Center piece might be a little too dark for me. I might do something about that.

They still need some touch up work but dayum, I like it.

Anyway. So several things may happen. Either KA-T, another car, RB20, or I will enjoy having money for once.

New coilovers in a few weeks probably.

Update to follow, maybe.

Video looked fun and you got your successful figure 8's at the end.
I also agree the rear lights look a lot better. But what are you going to do about the backup lights?

Quite like the altezza tails with the red tint. Nice job! 👍 A friend of mine was going to do that with his hatch, but ended up smoking his taillights and painting the center piece somewhat the same color as his car.

New tail lights look excellent reece, nice work 👍

I've always been indifferent to the blacked out tail section, but that white out looks damn clean. Tell your buddy good job!

Thanks guys!

Camaroboy, it was really fun haha. Believe it or not, the reverse lights still show. But I'm thinking about redoing that section.

Medigo, that's actually what I did haha.

In other news, I bought myself some decent coilovers for once. A set of Stance GR+.

Oh, I bought this thing a few weeks ago.

Got to do some stuff to the car last night.

Stance GR+ for a steal of a price...

Got some awesome lights!

And I got the coilovers on, wheels on, and temporary front end together.

Haven't gotten to drive it yet though... You know why the car is sitting there in the driveway? Because the battery died :(
First it was dead in the garage, so I jumped it... then it died again, and jumped it... then died AGAIN...
So the battery is charging as I type this.

Don't ask or worry about that fender. It's temporary. I needed to throw something on for it to be road legal.

Also, to show my dedication... it was 9 degrees last night when I got everything together, and now it's 8 degrees and the car is sitting in the driveway with its sunroof off. Yes, I'm going to drive it once the battery is charged.

So what's next?

I need to get bottom mount seat rails so I can put that seat in. Also need to get a harness bar welded in so I can mount my harness.

Need new fenders like, now. Mine suck.

Wheels are on the list. Looking at a pair of SSR Hasemi S5s and a pair of Wedsports. Might bust my balls and get a set of Advan T5s.

Probably gotta get a new gauge cluster. HUD? YES!

Maybe Legacy side skirts.

I want a SilEighty.

Also need a radiator and E-Fans.

Well, that just about wraps it up.

You should clean it up, fix all of the rust instead of buying coilovers and stickers. Mint and standard looks better than rusted, slammed, zip tied and painted.

Just sayin'.

I'd rather have a car that I can drift in than the boring stock 240. Stock 240s suck. Crappy suspension, crappy motor, crappy brakes, etc... I like drifting and that's hard to do in a stock 240. I'll get another and keep it stock when I need a daily.

Don't really care if some guy on the internet that I will never ever meet doesn't like it, either. All the crap is going away very soon, and it will be nicer from now on.

Annnnnnyway.

Bought wheels. Bought seat rails. Might be buying a digital cluster. Selling my coilovers tonight.

Hey, I don't mind you drifting, but I just think you should make it mechanically sound before drifting it. You were saying it was a rust bucket before, no? IMO, I would of thought it would be a good idea to get that all up to scratch before doing other things.

It's being taken care of.

Alright guys. It's been a while. My computer's hard drive crashed and I lost every single picture of the car :(

So to sum up what's been going on, wheels and aero.

So I bought Avid.1 AV12s. 16x8 +15. These aren't the exciting part...

This sunday I'm buying some more. Two Racing Sparco drift spares (15x7 +38 but those are just spares so they're not important) and two SSR Longchamps. 16x8 +0. Imported from GT-R Garage. Only pair in America with those specs. I was gonna keep it a secret but I'm almost crying I'm so excited. I'm getting a helllll of a deal on these. Longchamps will go in the front and two Avids in the rear until I find another pair or other wheels that would look good with them. Other two Avids will be spares.

Now, aero. Got a good deal on an Origin Stylish rep kit. Yeah, it's a fake kit. I'm not going to spend a bunch of money on a real kit that will get busted up after the first drift event. I'm also getting wide fenders, to fit the wheels.

The hood is being replaced with a red OEM hood. Maybe a VIS Carbon Invader if the guy selling it comes up to Minnesota any time soon.

Talking to a guy about buying his 180SX Kouki wing. That may or may not happen.

E-Fans may be happening in a few days.

Not much else going on. Gotta get my computer back up and running so I can post some pictures of stuff.

You won't need wide fenders with those wheels. It's just going to make them look more sunk. They will fit more flush on stock body.

Why selling the coilovers?
They're free, and you see how ugly my stock fenders are. I'm thinking zero offset wheels with 20mm fenders might look good. They will also clear my harness better. If the wheels look sunk then I guess I'll find spacers.

Sold my old crappy coilovers because I bought a set of Stance GR+.

BOUGHT MY WHEELS!

Guys... :')

These things are so beautiful. Now I know why people like spending so much money on getting wheels imported from Japan. They are so gorgeous and I love them. Oh man I almost teared up a little when I was putting them in the car. They need some cleaning, and I need to find a center cap, but.. oh my goodness. So gorgeous.

Also, they have pretty much brand new Bridgestone Potenzas on them. Awesome!

The Racing Sparcos are just spares so whatever. But maybe I'll get some pictures of them later.

What's next? Well today I went to mount my seat bracket to my seat, then I remembered I forgot to order sliders. So that's next. Fenders in a few weeks. Etc etc

Ordered an NX1600 Digital Cluster today, super duper excited <3

Now before you go saying it was wasted money, my cluster is on its last legs so I needed a new one anyway.

Goodbye 240. Back in the Toyota game.

Kidding. I bought a daily driver though. It's a 1989 Corolla GTS. Pretty cool.

And the 240, well here she is right now.

I put in this super sweet wheel over the weekend.
ca4H8Rh.jpg

Ordered sliders so I can put that seat in. Got a new power mirror switch because mine was missing. Ordered new radio trim and a shift boot like a month ago but that isn't here yet so I doubt I'll get it. Lame. I can't put the rest of my kit on because it's way too cold to paint the rear bumper and a friend of mine was supposed to bring me new fenders like two weeks ago but hasn't yet, so that explains why only the front bumper is on. I also started sanding down my hood to paint it RED because this multicolor stuff actually kinda sucks. Harness bar is getting put in in March, might weld in new quarter panels because these ones are rusty times a thousand, speaking of quarters I need to pull these a little bit so I can lower the car more. I got a totally rad Grex shift knob too. Touge Factory one was aluminum and got super hot and super cold so it had to go. D-Max floor mats should be arriving in a few weeks. Overnight shipping from Japan, I mean over-the-course-of-three-weeks. That's fine though. I'm kinda rambling now but I was told to write or type my plans with the car.

I need to get a new battery too. This one is dead. I found out I already have a new battery in the basement from the Supra. Rad. Need to replace my fan clutch, too. Badly. This car makes me happy. So does my Corolla. Going drifting in a month or two. Fun. Excitement. Cars. Vroom.

Hey good for you, sometimes its tough admitting your wrong.

Also you mentioned going drifting in a month or two, as if this weather hasn't permitted that?

You mean snow drifting? I'd do that if I had insurance on the car. :(

Thank you very much. I think it is too, I realized one day that this car sucked a lot. I should have listened to you about keeping my interior, by the way...

That was very mature, good for you! 👍 it takes a bigger man to admit when they've made a mistake.

The thing to remember is that a lot of us have had a lot of experience doing a lot of different mods, the beauty of a forum and the internet in general is that you can learn from other peoples mistakes if you're willing to listen.

I once stripped the interior out of a car in the name of "Saving weight" only to immediately say "Well that was bloody stupid why did I do that" and waste more time putting it all back in, because there's really no appreciable difference - especially in 90s Nissans; other than more road noise and making it looks crap (in my opinion) it's best to spend your time fixing faults (Rust etc), investing in handling modifications and doing little things like ECU tweaking and the like than throwing out bits of foam. (Or in your case, selling to someone in need - which is better than what most people do)

Trust me, I'm all for "my car, my rules" etc but you have access to a fountain of knowledge and experience with modding cars - to me it makes no sense to ignore the advice and rush in - but of course that's just how I feel.

You don't need to make your car "Stock" - but you'll be amazed how much more respect you'll have for yourself and your car if it's "Clean" 👍

Thanks for all of the nice comments.

Corolla threw a rod last night.

Plans? I don't know what black tops go for over there but they're the engine from the AE111 and you can pick them up in NZ for all of 800 bucks.
