This game could be great for me.
Everything seems perfect to me except trying to drive the game with controller.
Don't have a wheel but the controller skew seems bat-**** crazy to me.
Some cars I'm having trouble just driving in a straight line.

Funny thing is I can control all the other PC sims with a controller just fine.
This just kills what could be a really fantastic game for me.
Roll on GTS.

I'm assuming you're talking about Apex since you mention other pic games. Skew with a controller? What control are you using? I've experienced zero problems with a controller, the regular Xbox one and the elite.

I'm going to say your issue lies within the controller and not apex.

What a tease. It's really not cool to be racing against it. I'm already having dreams about this one.

Will give it a crack.

I'll be 🤬 🤬 off if this LONG REQUESTED car from such an underrepresented market (Aussie cars) is a unicorn. That'd be a real kick in the teeth.

It was just a demo, but I played the demo to Forza Motorsport 6 today. Here are some of my thoughts...

I wasn't able to run a complete lap around the newer Rio de Janeiro track, but to have 24 cars on track on a course like this is amazing. I say the newer Rio track because I remembered doing Rio de Janeiro in Forza Motorsport 1. And this FM6 rendition is much more colorful and longer. Anyhow, I did Ford pretty bad having crashed and dinging up their newer Ford GT around the course. It was still an immensely gratifying experience.

Let me tell you something- I am a sim racer, but don't consider myself a hardcore sim racer. Having said that, I was amazingly impressed racing that Audi in the rain at Brands Hatch. I thought Project Gotham Racing 4 was impressive with rain. Man... doing Brands Hatch in the rain with puddles and such was insane! Racing in the rain or on wet tracks make a lot of proper sim racers look absolutely docile. And I'm thinking... I'm fortunate (yes, I'll use that word in this case) to race an Audi with 4WD around a wet race course. What would happen if I raced a more powerful, preferably rear-wheel drive and mid-engine car in the wet in this game?

All in all, I was quite impressed. Forza has come a long way. I was one of the first haters of the Forza Motorsport series after playing a demo of that game back then. Like, "THIS is supposed to be better than Gran Turismo? People would want to play THIS as opposed to Gran Turismo 4?" Over time, I grew to appreciate and admire and respect Forza Motorsport. This latest rendition may just be the best Forza ever. Then again, part of me still wants to get the first XBOX and play through Forza 1. Then maybe play some of the XBOX 360 renditions of Forza. But anyhow... had I an XBOX 360, Forza Motorsport 6 would DEFINITELY be in my collection.

You will enjoy the full game then because they tweaked the physics and handling in some of the content updates.

It's shaped up nicely over the last decade, but man they should be aiming higher!

This game could be great for me.

Trouble in a straight line? Really? Forza has got to have the best control in any realistic console racing game I've played on the Xbox. I think you're using the standard deadzone settings which are terrible IMO. Keep all your deads at 0/100, for inside/outside. Experiment with sim and normal steering. And, if you're having trouble getting deep turn angles around the slower apexes, reduce outside steering deadzone in 5-increments until you get better response. Again, experiment with sim and normal.

You might need to get a wheel to have complete, unassisted control over your car, but then again, Forza has always been built around the controller, and not the other way around. There have been numerous complaints about wheels and F6 but hey, I'm on a pad and I ain't got no complaints except for the hidden assists/lack of tuning on those assists.

Anyone tried the McLaren MP4 rivals event at Hockenheim? I've got a 1:20 clean and hit 1:19 dirty, but can't fathom how a couple dudes hit 1:15...

When I played the Forza Motorsport 6 demo yesterday, I didn't bother to toggle the driver aids. Then again, I wasn't too concerned since it was my first time trying FM6 and a track I wasn't familiar with (the FM6 Rio track). I even remember I didn't toggle some of the driver aids back when I played the demo to the first Forza Motorsport. Racing in the rain or on a wet track was completely unreal in FM6. It makes racing in the rain in games like the GTR series look tame. Heck, I still remember trying to drive in a straight line in monsoon conditions in the first GTR. That was tough as crap! I actually remained confident I'd pass the leading car in the rain race at the Brands Hatch GP course. I'm sure you'll really need to concentrate on finding the dry line when you do the wet races.

Night racing seems new to Forza, but I still remember running tracks like Pacific Shipyards, Tokyo Circuit, and the Sunset Peninsula courses from the first Forza Motorsport. This is just more realistic night racing in Forza Motorsport 6. So I would imagine it would be tough contending with real darkness in FM6. Then of course, imagine darkness AND rain in FM6. You're really going to have your hands full in those situations.

The new D class spec league with the Maxda MX5 Cup makes for some great racing! Had a blast last night waiting for it to open again now.

So, for laughs I tried running a 59HP BMW Isetta with stock tires and a decent setup in the E class hopper. I was actually doing quite good on Catalunya School Circuit. Made it as high up as 6th place out of 17 players, until I tipped over on one of the rumble strips. :(
Ended up finishing 15th. I beat a 1978 Trans Am and a Fiat 131 Abarth that was 2 laps down.

Had a lot of fun with this as well tonight, but good god, Rio is the worst track in the world. Twice we came up on it, and twice it was an absolute mess. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Please T10, no more fantasy tracks ever, ever again.

And, on a totally different subject, I think I've fallen in love with the GT350R.

As I said in my previous post, I didn't get to play the full course to FM6's Rio de Janeiro track. To me, the Rio course from Forza Motorsport 1 seemed more fun and realistic. FM6's Rio is long and colorful. I think fantasy coures are good mostly for identity and exclusivity. Even Forza Motorsport 1's semi rip off of the New York courses offers up a unique course to the game. I actually call Maple Raceway as Forza's Grand Valley Speedway or Löwenseering (Enthusia Professional Racing) as far as being a premier fictional Grand Prix type course.

I saw a few videos on YouTube demonstrating the night racing and rain racing of Forza Motorsport 6. The key point was in comparing FM6's effects to Driveclub. I think FM6 has some incredible effects. However, I had new respect for Driveclub's rain and darkness features after seeing those features compared to Forza Motorsport 6.

From the Forza Motorsport 6 demo I played, I don't think I saw the option to race the Lamborghini Huracan at Sebring at night. So I can't comment on that experience. All I do know is that XBOX One owners have themselves a quality racing game to be proud of with FM6.

Agreed, Driveclubs weather effects are amazing but the game is also running at half the frame rate of FM which some of these videos often neglect to tell or show you. Either way Driveclubs effects are fantastic, best yet in my opinion, racing game or otherwise.

They're not bad considering 60fps and a larger grid and better physics than DC. DC looks better but not enough to make up for the amount of cars and dumbed down physics.

They aren't bad graphics but they explain why the game reaches 60fps.

GFX isnt what most of us are after anyway. I'm looking in a world where I find GT6 to look absolutely fine... hell I think Forza 4 looks fine.

If they did Forza 4 w/ FHD then that would be fine by me.

The GT/Forza world hasnt been that hung on on GFX. Only recently with GTS and FH3 have we accepted that the future is 60hz with that level of GFX.

Hey guys, this is coming out of left field, but just recently, I have noticed that while watching replays, my car looks like its lagging, or something of that sort. You see it very clearly jerking around while cornering. This is in single player mode, not multiplayer. Has anyone experienced this? I am wondering if something went wrong after a recent update.

Sorry I probably shoudl've posted this somewhere else.

If you mean that it looks like something is skipping, for lack of a better term,, it's probably because the replays run at 30fps. It's very noticeable when you watch a replay through the interior view. I'm pretty sure it's always been like that.

Well, heck... pretty impressive looking, considering you get locked 60 fps on a budget console.
Wouldn't call the Xbox one a budget console but yes the graphics are impressive. My point was simply that drive club is locked at 30fps because it looks better.

I occasionally see this too and always thought it was due to poor implementation and lack of polish. I've noticed it since day one, and it appears to be most noticeable when the car is sliding with limited traction. Maybe it's a consequence of replays running 30 FPS but the car skipping around does look wrong.

For sure. Do you think Horizon 2 gives DC a run for its money, as I've never played DC personally?

Some of the car sounds are VERY impressive in DC by the way.

DriveClub has a superior graphics and sounds marginally better.

But to be honest I'd rather take Horizon 2 for its gameplay and replayability. Kudos for Evo though for supporting the game till the end.
