The R91CP is insane. So much front end grip that I have trouble finding it's limit. I know I can go faster! Top speed with the stock gearing is only 180mph or so, but the car puts the power to the ground surprisingly well. Def worth the buy.

In a 16-person ABC lobby at Road America East (the mostly rectangle layout). I'm in C with an XK120. Ended up with the fifth-fastest lap time in the lobby: won my class of course, but also beat every B time, and all but one A.

This thing is silly fast in a straight line.

Nice. I was trying to play some ABCs earlier, but couldn't find a game. I settled for the Modern GT Quickstop League and had a blast. I did about 10 races and was the only one using the Bentley. The last time I had this much fun was probably in GT5's Shuffle Races.

So after the sign up, does the rivals event get sent to you? I keep reading the article but im still confused.

From my understanding, the Rivals and League events will show up for everybody in-game on Monday.

Well, so much for getting the Falcon. My internet is so bad that there's no way I could race with more then 2 other people and not have a lot of lag. Oh well. Hopefully there will be another way of getting the car. Same goes for all of the unicorns, I missed out on all but the '66 Silvia.

Good luck to all who choose to participate!

So the Escort and Falcon are finally up for grabs. Question remains about the Manta. Still hope for a unicorn car pack? That's the only option I'd consider.

They wouldn't do a unicorn car pack...they'll be available most likely in Season 2 of FRC. Seems like it won't be a one and done deal like the lambo event.

Ah, it all makes sense now. These hidden cars were being saved up for a Forza championship. Well, here I come XY Falcon!

I won't bother going for the win as much as I would love to own a Focus RS. I'm simply not good enough at driving to get that far. *shrug*

Let me axe you something. This sort of content is always welcome and I guess the big overall hot lap winner gets the Focus RS as long as you're in the US. Which is fine.

However they go to a lot of fanfare for what amounts to a bunch of hotlaps every week or so?

LOL?

Is that 'racing' per se?

I would love to be a fly on the wall in the boardroom of Turn10 when they come up with this (and Lamborghini)... "hey guise... let's get the Forza audience to run a few hotlaps for unicorn cars"

Seems terribly unimaginative bland and actually not 'racing' in the end?

They are basically dressing up what is actually quite boring. I get that many guys love hotlaps but not even GT6 focusses on hotlaps as if that's all there is.

Hell, not even Forza Apex, a free game, serves you hotlaps week in week out.

Yeah. I mean, other than the knockout style tournament where people will have to race against one another each week in the Elite Series, or the fact all of the Open Series takes place in Leagues. You know, against others.

Yep. Hot lapping indeed.

It's even stranger to hear this from someone that regularly sings the praises of GT6's Seasonals, which never amount to anything more than hot laps or a chase the rabbit event.

This is about the only time I've ever heard anyone crapping on his own forum.

Let me ask this... how come there's threads in there with 7 pages and more discussing just *ONE* race seasonal?

I mean its your forum....

I would love to see this side of the forum have the nuance and depth of discussion of the GT6 seasonal forum but I dont think it'll ever happen.

But back to Forza 6. I havent seen the full extent of this Ford competition... only the 1 video and the 3 hotlaps events so far. Sorry but it seems pretty threadbare as it stands. If it improves in the future, great, but I want that impressed with the Lamborghini content and I dont think this will change with Ford.

I don't know how to make this any simpler:

Being critical of an aspect of GT6 =/= "crapping" on GTPlanet.

They are not connected.

It has nothing to do with the quality of the Seasonal events, and very much to do with the number of active members in the GT6 section. The Seasonals themselves have largely been the exact same thing since they were introduced: vague limitations (like "Race Cars" or... "Non-Race Cars") in either hot lap or chase-the-rabbit scenarios.

There were a few standouts, like the masochistic SRT Tomahawk @ Nurburgring one (a challenge, absolutely), but I really don't see how someone could suggest the Seasonals are anything approaching imaginative.

Here's a quick overview of the last 8 months.

What sort of nuance and/or depth do comments like "Seems terribly unimaginative bland and actually not 'racing' in the end?" add to the discussion when even you've admitted you haven't looked at the entire competition?

The three current Rivals events? The ones that have expressly been put up in advance of the series starting, as practice? I mean, yeah, I suppose that's pretty threadbare. That's what previews tend to be: a fraction of the whole package.

There's also a cycled Ford production hopper, though.

I had a look through rivals the other day. There's so much choice there I don't know how it could be described as threadbare. Hotlapping, overtaking and autocross, not to mention class time trials for each ribbon.
