Some moments of Nordschleife 1st race:

n1.jpg

n3.jpg

Chasing @RMan72 or giving some heat :)

n4.jpg

This was closest I could get.. :I

n6.jpg

Then on last (4th) lap I decided to take quick visit on bigger beach, practically throwing towel on ring due lost time.. Snif..

n7.jpg

Luckily on very same lap I catch up Mr. Economy driver (@danbojte) and started to make BBQ of him.

n8.jpg

First overtake try-out on Metzgesfeld.

n9.jpg

Get on side of @danbojte and few inches ahead, but...

n10.jpg

..We started to be on braking zone and I had to surrender, not risking both.

n11.jpg

Taking my position after and waiting for next change to overtake him.

n12.jpg

Smelling BBQ..

n13.jpg

Exmühle coming up and @danbojte takes defensive line, I'm preparing my move and taking wide incoming line, having idea of overtake after turn..

n14.jpg

@danbojte defences dropped due excessive speed in Exmühle and my changes opened, I'm having optimal line to take inside deep and hoping at my second gear will last and traction stays after turn.

n15.jpg

Yes, everything went exactly as I planned, clean sweet BBQ overtake :)

n16.jpg

Packed again on next corner.

n17.jpg

Tried to push maximum pace IF I still could catch up race leader @RMan72, well I wasn't sure if I find him so I checked my driving lights at are those high enough..

n18.jpg

Then had to check what pace I had on @danbojte, no worries, not on sight.

n19.jpg

Double check Lights.. And damn, there was race going also.. well let's try on next race..

EAG Justice Dept.png

Case Pending: @danbojte (Plaintiff) vs @RMan72 (Defendant)

Court room will be Presided by the Lord Chief Of Justice
the Honorable Ushouldnobetter Toobotherme

funny-judge.jpg

Plaintiff:
You are punished with 40 push-ups for not wearing the mandatory racing number. :P

Defendant:
I'll do the push ups and a few more, but I'll never put a racing number on my 300 SL as it spoils her looks

Technically it's an EAG tune, so does the number rule apply?

Deliberation:
... hmm, the track rule stipulates that there must be a racing number..
... he's willing to do more pushups just to not put a number...
.... those pit crew girls did look pretty ....
... it is an EAG tune... but... wonder what I'm going to have for supper...
... he is right about the looks though but is that a call to make this...
... what's that word again ... ah yes, jurisprudence? ....
... ah but he can take the number off after the race ...
... sushi? ... pickled onion rings, hmmmm ....
... where and when did this happen? ...

Verdict:
The LAW being the LAW, the court finds Mr. @RMan72 ... GUILTY on two charges.

1. For not respecting the Promoter's rules as it supersedes the EAG's rules,
he is fined to the penance of 40 pushups.

2. For having good taste and wanting to preserve a German Heritage,
he will be forced to deduct 15 pushups from his penance.

This will make it a total of 25 pushups, payable to the promoter.

This case is closed and there will be no appeals.

First of all, that was a real good narrative of the race 👍, second of all "BBQ Dan",, you've got a good sense of humor when you let it out, don't ever stop .

I nearly missed this one , didn't get any alerts but got the one for the # dispute :odd:, if I hadn't scrolled up a little too much I would have never seen this gem. Anybody here can think of a nickname for @danbojte ? Clue > summer, sauce, charcoal, hamburger, hotdogs, :D ;)

 to you all.

@TurnLeft not fair to use that as nickname, more like Mr.Economy driver, had to tip my hat for those races @danbojte , he run without pitstop, saving overall ~12-13 liter fuel per race, no change to fight back on full pace.
I think also that tactic, but counted quickly at it is not good for me, I'll lose time and risks are too high for spinning, running out fuel and crippled if need to fight for position. And my right foot probably would be too heavy and fuel just runs out anyway.
My calculations said at there was something around 5 sec per lap what I could drive slower than leader on zero stop tactic, and that was out of question if trying to save fuel too.

Punishment accept, 60 done in penance for questioning the law :scared:

@danbojte : What if we use the BTCC Civic Type R that I built for lewis_hamilton ( winner at Brands Hatch Indy BTCC round 1 ) for next week ?

The car was proven to be good on tire during the race, the track is up to you :) Maybe Indianapolis Road ? It was supposed to be the 2nd round track :) It was a shame the host went AWOL for months now :(

The car was also tested at Silverstone National.

Well, I survived my first race with you boys. I did learn a few things though...
- @danbojte is a master of fuel economy
- tire grip level fell dramatically from 9 to 8. It was ridiculous how traction magically disappeared on the next corner after the front tire hit 8.
- ABS 0 is manageable for button mashers like me if you are by yourself. But when on someone's tail and you need to brake suddenly, lock-up is a 🤬
And locking up the front tires to stay off of Dan going into bergwerk is not good for business. I was doing a pretty good job of hounding him in the 2nd race until his braking point was earlier than mine.:yuck:
It was a lot of fun, and thank you guys for having me. I'm looking forward to more close quarters racing tracks in the future.👍

This is something what I really appreciate. :) 👍

@OdeFinn
Thank you, my friend. 👍 It revealed not being a winning strategy but I'm happy with my podiums, though. I enjoyed the wonderful run at the "Green Hell" with you all.

@Ridox2JZGTE
I like the idea. :) I'm not sure, you've built only one car for that great project?

@Lionheart2113
You did very well, good friend, being your first fight implying this rules. You just need more practice with the ABS 0, and you have to "trial and error" with the brakes strength and balance. The brakes are free to be altered as they fits your to liking (maybe you didn't know that :ouch: ).
I will never forget what a huge thing you did for me. 👍 It's my pleasure to have you.

@PatrisS136
No worries, you are very welcome to the future events. :) 👍

We could use the other cars I have built, the VW scirocco which I think I have posted on the BTCC thread and your ride, the BMW :P

So you've built the Civic and Scirocco? Did you built also the Focus and the 135i? If you didn't, could you build them and we'll have four cars to use? :D

Edit: I've changed my mind. We'll exclude the BMW, being a FR car.

Brake Balance:
3/5 ( personal BB) or for ABS 0 wheel : 3/5, for ABS 1 - feel free to use your preferred brake balance. I recommend to run 1 or 2 click higher at the rear.

Recommended setting for DS3 user :

Steering sensitivity at +1 or +2, all aids off, except ABS 1 ( if not comfortable with ABS 0 ) with 3/5 brake balance as starting point.

Notes :

A simple base tune for BTCC GTP Championship - a quickie build in 30+minutes. I have several race coilover kit replica setup available :) The base setup needs online shake down with race regs ( tire wear normal etc ) and let me know if it needs more rotation or any improvement. There are quite a few tuning aspect ( ballast position, ride height, springs, damper, ARB, camber, toe ) that can be tweaked to suit, as they were intentionally built with limitation to maximize potential from simple changes. The base tune when driven offline on 1st lap cold tires is capable of mid 1:01s at Silverstone National, 1:34s at Brands Hatch GP, 50s at Brands Hatch Indy, and 1:42s at Indianapolis Road.

The optional low lock LSD is the lowest setting I recommended, any lower there will be only loss and no gain. Alignment can be tailored to driving style, rear toe out can range up to 3/8" or up to -0.70+, suitable for short/sprint online road race. Ride height can use higher front for more rotation on a sensible amount, will need minor tweaks to keep it smooth. Other spring rate combo also available, higher rate at the rear can be used to an extent. An extreme spring rate setup with closer wheel rate to each other also can be used ( if you are a daredevil )

Brake balance can use higher rear if preferred, 3/7 is possible and should give better rotation on entry.

The base tune above managed to spin out ( over rotate ) while braking and sharp feint move ( ABS 0 ) on entry at Maggots, Silverstone National.

Both are already very close to each other, BOP process at FITT BTCC.

Time to search that thread  Maybe @Lionheart2113 could provide his focus tune for racing ? :D
If you guys are building for a race at Indy, I would suggest asking for @Stewyripper & @randyrockstiff tune for the Focus. He and I were pretty even at Brands Hatch, but he found something for the Indy Road Course that left me well behind. I'm thinking transmission!:odd:
I'm sure @krenkme wouldn't mind me giving away the secrets of 1 of his masterpieces. It's far from a replica though, it's got a lot of dings and dents from all the wrenches both of us have thrown at it!:D

 We need the Focus :) The race will be the spiritual successor to the FITT BTCC :P Will need to wait for Dan for the track to race on.

You're right, I wasn't sure that @danbojte did that, I was too far off and didn't know who was the leader, my leader board indicated the 300SL instead of the drivers name, but "fuel economy " is kind off long for a nickname don't you think? How about Eko? ;)

Verdict:

This is what I'm loving about these races, it feels like real races, car changing in behavior, having different strategies and especially driving against real good drivers, hope to see you again 👍.

Sorry but I had technical problems and I wasn't to race properly last weekend but I hope I'll be able to race in future dates
Was great to have you on board, hope you will join us in future events :).

Whatever the choice I know it will be fun 👍, I'd suggest the Yellowbird but I'd probably regret it after 1 lap :ouch:,.

Any rumors on what next week's race combo might be?? :D
Yes, you will be there 👍 ;).

@danbojte , that was a very audacious move you did, would have been fun if you could have pulled it off, If you were Mr. Economy I was the gas guzzler, I'm pretty sure I put in 8L in the tank and I ran out on the last straight .

Unfortunately I'll have to forfeit for next week, it's going to be my longest work day of the year, I'm leaving at 7:00am and If I get home before midnight that will be good, hope you all have fun.

Speaking of yellowbird, that give me an idea to do 4th race for fun weekly, Wangan Midnight style, battle at SSR7 or SSR5/Clubman, SM/SS tire for 2/3 laps. Pick any premium car from my garage, one model for all racers, it will be a test of wits and skills to draft, pass and outbrake your foes :P

How about the Bugatti Veyron on SM/SS at SSR7 2/3 laps, :mischievous: Normal tire wear as the SSR7 has no pits, a sprint race at 2/3laps.
