This.

I really doubt PD is going to turn up to E3, just to announce "DLC".

Highly doubt it either.

Was reading up on this a bit and most websites are calling it a new game title released by PD.

I'm guessing a GT game for the new portable system.

Definitely not going to be GT6 as that will most likely be a release title for the ps4. Yes, it will probably take that long for a new GT game.

Its all quite simple really, Kaz was told to launch GT5 earlier than he wanted because sony have this new handheld coming out. So what we are going to end up with is GT5 unfinished as it is and another rushed game being done now hence no reasonable updates yet. I personally don't see DLC for at least another year only seasonal updates which are quick and easy to do as the structure is already laid down
, no new cars or tracks as too time involving as their resources are required on other things. All this time PSN has been down is a godsend for Kaz as he can battle on with the new project without having to bother with suplying us with more seasonals.

Hi guys.
I'm new, and I know the moderators have to accept this post before it can be shown to everyone, so I hope the thread don't move too quickly :( EDIT: oh, maybe it's only for the first post? Nevermind xD

I think this "new project" may have something to do with Gran Turismo 5 (Spec II/DLC/something else... I don't konw).

Some weeks ago (mid April), the playstationblog.it made an interview with Michael Denny, vice president of World Wide Studios (the one behind first party games), and asked him a few questions chosen from the community's most asked ones.

I asked (among other questions) if we could expect something new from Gran Turismo 5 in the future.

And... they choose my question ^^ In the interview he didn't tell anything special...but I really think we could expect something new (maybe at E3).

Here it is the video (GT5 question at 2:10): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyrZS_XttpE

This is the related post on the blog: http://blog.it.playstation.com/2011/04/16/intervista-a-michael-denny/

I searched a little and I didn't find anything about this interview on the forum, I hope I'm not old (even if the interview it's quite old :)). And I also hope not to give false hope (sorry for the combo-repetition, and sorry for my english too).
Bye ^^

I hope it's Tourist Trophy, because I really enjoyed the first one, and I still play it, please PD, and make sure it has the '05 bikes from TT on PS2

Considering the term "New title." it's more than likely not to do with GT5. So, everyone don't get your hopes up for that. Also considering the brand new Sony NGP coming out this fall, its most likely a new GTPSP on the much more powerful NGP to be a release title for the new console. That's far better marketing than a GT5 Spec II, as it would push a LOT more people to buy NGP's, i'm talking millions more, including myself. a GT5 Spec II won't make sense. They will most likely add downloadable content either for free or at a cost from now until GT6 releases sometime next year, if the PS4 comes out next year as well.

Hi there welcome to :gtplanet: :)
he speaked about GT Academy and the fact GT5 was intended as a comunity title. He said he feel quite confident about "more surprises to come". Myabe PR BS... maybe not, let's see what happen in the next months. I hope in something new.
Thank you ^^ Yes, let's wait...and pray :D

Anyway thanks for your post mate.
You are welcome 👍

If GT5 took 5 years. Maybe GT6 will be 10 years for all we know
Remember GT3 ! 💡

It released only 1.5 years after GT2
It made for a new console with outstanding graphics
It has the best scores after GT1 & it is the second racing game of all time.
I think if PD wants , they can make GT6 for 2012 and erase bad memories of GT5.

Yes GT6 was also said by Kaz that he will make the production faster over GT5, and he was thinking of either making huge DLCs for GT5 or skipping them for GT6. And afterall, We wont see a new PS4 untill 2012 or 2013 E3 show, so PD really wants the GT6 to be out before PS4.

That's probably the only bikes it will have, all ps2 ports. Standard bikes with no new ones.

Heres me hoping that it is TT and hopefully the options aren't as limited in TT as they are in GT5 but I doubt it.

Whats C-Spec??

You just sit on the backseat and enjoy the trip whilst B-Spec Bob is driving and C-Spec Carl is managing. :P

I would guess it's the a new GT NGP title, much like GT PSP2. But that's just empty speculation.

Sony should be milking this for what ever it can! (Typical Sony, doesn't care what their loyal customers want)

How many games can have their communities actually WANTING to pay for DLC?

Regular updates and DLC and they have years of income from me for starters!

But I heard that PD aren't making another title for the NGP. And I read it on this site, so you guys can go look it up. So that just leaves GT6 and TT2 that could show up at E3 this year

Or GT5 Spec II. :)

GT5 Spec II would be great. It could be an update or bundled with new copies of GT5. 25-50 new cars. 5 new tracks with about 2 or more layouts each. More performance upgrades like wheels and race mods. Night racing and weather on all tracks. Free for new copies and something like $15-20 as DLC.

Where in blazes did you hear that on here?

My guess is that they want to tell the world at E3 but since that is so soon PD will say they are ready to reveal but probably won't at the last minute.

But for them to reveal another title coming out at the beginning of 2012 seems like it would be a rushed project since GT5 isn't done and they just released it at the end of last year.

That would be a reasonable plan by PD, to me.

Regardless, someone here is gonna be unhappy about it, so can we just lock threads at random until E3?
