They need to finish GT5 before even considering "a new project". 👎 Once ALL the cars in GT5 are premium, then I might care about a new project.

I see GT6 having only about 350 to 400 premium thats it. They will just admit it was the wrong decision to mix the car types and decrease the car count for the next game.

lol no.

I hope they announce something at E3 or rather soon. GT5 spec II, GT6P what are they working on ???

PD should scrap the notion of having car interiors modelled at all, they are a waste of time and resources, interiors do not making a driving simulator. Think of all the tracks, features and more up to date cars we could have had if they did not have any interiors...
It would be the bravest step they take to advance the GT series, I don't think they are that brave though. Perhaps they listen to what people demand rather than what they themselves as game designers think is best for us.
Having an interior makes the game less of a simulator, it takes away the feeling that you are driving, I'm sat there in my driving seat with my steering wheel in front of me, it's real i can feel it and turn it and see it, but now i can also see another one on the screen in front of me, it, doesn't make sense, it destroys the illusion of what a simulator does best.
I have seen million pound simulators used by professional racing companies they don't have interiors on screen.

GT is recognized as a driving simulator. Not a racing simulator. Kaz's purpose for making GT in the first place is to make the automobile culture all the more readily available to a wider range of consumers/gamers to experience.

The first GT was just Japanese cars because he wanted to pay homage to Japan, in practical terms. I guess, accept it for what it is.

Ok, but I could still argue seeing a doubled up steering wheel on a screen makes a driving simulator less of a driving simulator and more of just a pretty bit of graphics which make it feel less real than if it wasn't there at all.
An equivalent would be going to a cinema to watch a great new 3D film that really immerses you but while you are wearing the special 3D glasses there is a constant rotating logo of letters saying "3D" in the top left of your vision. The logo has good graphics and it seems like it's just floating before you in mid-air, but it makes you constantly aware you are observing rather than believing.
Such is the way of GT5 interiors. But maybe my complaint should centre on disliking the steering wheels, but I think the whole interior is un-needed, for driving simulation. Ok it's an optional view to drive, I can choose not to see it, but it took years to make..... years of my life in waiting even if they were the ones doing the work. I did the time.

That is what's understandable. I'd be incredibly frustrated, as well. But if I were you, I'd just TRY not to let it bother me. We can't have it our way, exactly, because GT has massive appeal and it's influenced by a massive following. You're only making it worse for yourself. Personally, I think 3D was a huge waste of space and more importantly, time. This feature affects a significantly larger number of people than the decision to add interior modelling.

Also, think about all the people who don't even have LCD tvs. Should they be pissed about the 5 years spent on making a graphical beauty, instead of focusing on having more gameplay features?

3D should have been left out until GT6. I don't know anyone that has a 3D TV. Spending the time and money on that feature in the future is what should have happened.

I'm still thinking that they're going to announce a major update for GT5...
FIA GT/DTM dlc that Kaz wanted so badly?

Dunno what Im more excited for.
Le Mans, or E3 lol.

Yeah, I am sure Sony will want their new flagship handheld with a Gran Turismo game at launch. Polyphony can just scale down the car models and tracks from GT5 polygon-wise for the handheld. Even GT5's Premium cars were future-proofed. They exist modeled at even higher polygon counts than GT5, so that all the capture work on real-world cars doesn't need to be redone for the next leap in hardware.

At this point I think it's 50 / 50 that we will see GT6 at the tail end of the PS3's life cycle, in a few years from now. Unfortunately, given PD's attitude towards perfection and slow development pace compared with how quickly the industry moves these days, that title may very well get delayed long enough to become a PS4 launch title.

I hope GT6 is a launch title for ps4 , we don´t need another GT5.5 disc , DLC at a good/low price is good enough for me , tracks like Spa and from old games , new cars and some standard to premium , new features for Online mode and that´s it . There´re big rumors that the ps4 will be out in 2 years (2013), save GT6 for that .

Kaz already mentioned the work that's going into GT6 is, basically, just adding additional apps. Once they got the framework done, it was smooth sailing from there on out, kinda. GT5, as a whole, was the most difficult project they've undertaken.

Both!! I'm so excited for them man. :):D

We do.....and I've used it twice. Not that great, sony screwed them on that decision.

That is why I am still pretty optimistic overall.

GT5 felt like they had to create the "base" for a lot of things, including the solid online play. For GT6, they can worry about cramming as much content as possible into the game.

Seems to me this is pretty unfair. PD didn't force you to buy their product. Who are you to insist they give you something you didn't pay for?

You got hundreds of premium cars, and hundreds more standards (some quite detailed too).

The game is a great deal of content for the dollar. It's one of the largest amounts of content in any video game I've ever had. You got a good deal.

Yeah, I would much rather have all premiums. I'd love it if GTA4 covered the entire country instead of NYC. I'd love it if Ezio Auditore could free roam all Italy.

But these games are products, and I want PD to be profitable, and I understand the limitations that imposes.

My request for PD is to try to overhaul the menu system to make things more efficient. Add save features to a few places. Tweaks like that. I think we can wait for GT6 for more hard content, though I would pay good money for DLC tracks and cars.

I do want them to make a lot of money, because that's how I keep getting the good games. Making 800 more premium cars would cost millions.

^Millions isnt all that much nowadays for the larger companies...

True.

And these companies do not have that kind of money without gamers paying them for content. GT5 has plenty of content. If PD makes more, I think it's fair to pay more for it.

That's distinguished from the other GT5 issues. I don't think PD has an excuse for some of the menu aspects or the save features. I think it's fair to ask them to fix GT5 for 'free' (I think we've paid for this much).

That's very reasonable. I think a lot of people overlook how much content GT5 has.

To be fair, I don't have that much of a problem with the menu. I used to hate having to go into the Tuning Parts shop, but then, I found out you can just stock up on parts before you install them. So now, I just go into Items to install the parts I want.

I really don't see that much of an issue with the menus. The online lobby need additional funtions/features the most. It's missing something special.

Attempt to buy all the used cars from the dealership. You have to confirm OK and get returned back and forth many times. Or what about prize car tickets? You have to hit ok many times between the time you won the car and the time you're in it.

That's a little quibble. But there are a lot of little aspects where the menus don't send you were you want to go, or efficiently organize the game.

GT5 is unlike many other games in that you spend a huge amount of time in menus. And yet many games have much tighter designs for their menus.

Anyway, it's a little thing, like the game save in the endurance races, that I think could be fixed pretty easily.

I didn't realize I could stock up on parts as you described, btw. Thanks for the tip... at least there's some reason behind the game asking me if I want to install the part I just bought.

Or what about prize car tickets? You have to hit ok many times between the time you won the car and the time you're in it.
You could speed that up into half the time. As it loads, keep clicking circle and the no/yes window will pop up, then keep clicking X and you'll be through it before the car stops. Basically, just follow those instructions as simple as it sounds.

The garage has some issues, too. I get frustrated SOMEtimes.

It's just that most menu "faults" aren't anything too major. Buying all cars at once in the UCD? That's kind of silly. It's one of those things that you're wishing too hard for. I have those, too, but ehhh. They're just wishes. Just seems silly to want perfection in that area.

"game save in the endurance races"
Now, that is ridiculous. I can't believe it wasn't their primary goal before they even began development.

"As it loads, keep clicking circle and the no/yes window will pop up, then keep clicking X and you'll be through it before the car stops. Basically, just follow those instructions as simple as it sounds."

I can't tell if you're sarcastically mocking the ridiculous menus or trying to help.

I do love GT, but this is exactly what I mean. I go back to the main menu... or not the main menu, the menu of GT Life, with the tab for home or something like that. I get a prompt alerting me that I have a ticket for a car. I click OK. I scroll over to the truck icon and select it, opening it. I scroll to the ticket I want and select it. I get another prompt. I select the option to take the car I won (why in the hell?) I get the animation. ok... now it's on to your step

"As it loads, keep clicking circle and the no/yes window will pop up, then keep clicking X and you'll be through it before the car stops. "

OK, that's done. I think that includes the 'get in the car?' prompt. You are now the recipient of the car you wanted to get into 15 clicks ago. Proceed to the tab for parts to assign the parts you own to this car, or go to GT Auto to buy aero, get an oil change for some reason, and then go to the parts store to buy parts and then be asked a few times if you want the parts you're buying to go with the car (why in the hell?)

Now, for GT1, you had to buy parts. It took a little while, and you got this quasi experience of upgrading the car, kinda dragging out the experience a little.

In GT5, it is forced, artificial, dragged even farther, and frankly Monty Python style silly.

And I think my description makes it sound like I'm much more pissed than I really am. It's not a big deal, but we all know that an impressive, clever menu system, that handled these issues innovatively, would be the biggest improvement to GT5 possible. We spend a lot of time in the menus and they are not very good.

lol I'm serious. Ever since I start collecting the standards, I found that out. 2 days ago, it was. It really goes by a lot quicker.

When the "Get in car?" window pops up, I click No. Repeatedly clicking Circle makes the pointer go to no, then clicking X repeatedly hurries up the rest after choosing No. Before the "Get in car?" window pops up, you gotta be pressing Circle ahead of time.
