Not gonna comment on actual events but once again we see how garbage the media generally are. All rush to be the first to report a story without any regard if it's true or heaven forbid footage from a damn video game! I didn't for 1 second believe the story about the 13 Ukrainians dying on that island. It just seemed pointless to give up your life so cheaply that the story didnt seem believable, but the media couldn't wait to push that story. The propaganda for this war is gonna be intense.
Wow... so much incorrect.

It looks like it was Ukraine that reported them dead, not "the media". And it's not clear that they're alive, there is now doubt.

Ukraine said they were dead, and Ukraine now says they might be alive. Fog of war and all that.*

The IOC really is feckless. Russia should've been banned from competition long before this war broke out, all they do is cheat.

Did it look to anyone else like Russia waited to invade Ukraine until after the olympics?

There's footage online of what seems to be a carpet bombing of Charkov Kharhiv.

But no civilians are being targeted, of course.

I'm sure that played into everything. Imagine the fallout if they'd invade during the Olympics. The IOC would've just issued a stern warning and awarded their doped-up athletes all the gold medals since other nations would've refused to compete against them.

They know that it is over 2 years until they have to put their money where their mouth is.

They waited until their corrupt friends FIFA did something and then acted so they didn't look stupid.

Salvos from Grad missile launchers look a lot like cluster bombs but they're just artillery. I haven't seen any reports of high altitude bombers being used as they'd be really susceptible to Ukrainian AA. Remember, Russia didn't and still hasn't conducted any effective air superiority measures. The Grad launchers has been one of their main artillery weapons throughout this conflict.

They've still failed to connect Crimea and Donbas. Good. Damn these Ukrainians are putting up a fight.

I'm not really sure what exactly a cease-fire is going to accomplish besides letting both sides reorganize and reload for another go. Obviously it's not acceptable to draw these new borders in a treaty. And Russia likely won't think it's acceptable to just leave. I'm really not sure what the end-game will be with negotiations.

One thing I have thought about it that despite how iconic Kyiv is, maybe it's time to move the capitol to Lviv lol.

Too late.

They had a former general talking on CNN this morning saying that the Russians were likely using cluster munitions with the Grad launchers. So it's not so much carpet bombing, but carpet rocketing. Still pretty devastating though and per the general, some of the bomblets don't explode due to a misfire only to explode later.

Obviously, our regime set a trap and put his own leg in it. After 2012 power of Putin became almost absolute and, at the same time, his info channels became thinner. In 10 years he completely detached from reality. Finally, he making suicide decision and there is no one who can stop him.
Have there been any rumours in Russia over Putin's health over the past couple of years?

He has recently appeared unwilling to be in close contact with anyone, all those long-table meetings are particularly showing of this, like you would do if you really didn't want to be catching Covid. His recent appearance is that of someone with a slightly bloated face, often a result of being on a course of steroids. It has also been speculated due to some mannerisms spotted in video footage, state TV appearances etc, that he shows symptoms of someone suffering from Parkinsons. This all ads up with the extreme covid-avoidance and the possible steroids. If true, people with Parkinsons can often develop lewy bodies dementia. it doesn't usually show up with typical dementia symptoms at first, but early signs amongst others are anxiety and paranoia. It doesn't seem out of realm of possibilities.

From a Polish friend I was talking to over the weekend, Poland is full of rumours that Putin has been seriously ill for quite some time.

Zero to back it up, but the rumour are certainly about.

Bellingcat have a piece on this.

This is just dumb symbolic crap right here. Establishments in Finland have already bought and paid for whatever Russian liquor they've got in stock and now they can't sell it to recoup their costs? Good way to put the hurt on your own people. We already know what happens when you halt liquor sales, people lose their jobs, we literally just went over this throughout 2020.

For context, the only establishments that are selling liquor in Finland (Alko) are state owned.

Are you suggesting every bar and restaurant in Finland is state owned? Or just the bulk warehouses and stores where bars, restaurants, and individuals get their stuff from?

This is probably the biggest wrench thrown into any modern war involving any global economic power. This wasn't much of a consideration throughout the 21st century so far - Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Sryia, the various conflicts throughout the Middle East - none of those involved countries with high degrees of foreign investment. But this one does, and Russia is getting plastered. Their natural gas trump card didn't mean squat ultimately. Lots of lessons to be gleaned from this that can relate to China's conflict Taiwan ambitions.

I don't know all the in's and out's, but this is the opening description of Alko from Wiki.

Alko Inc is the national alcoholic beverage retailing monopoly in Finland. It is the only store in the country which retails beer over 5.5% ABV, wine (except in vineyards) and spirits. Alcoholic beverages are also sold in licensed restaurants and bars but only for consumption on the premises.

Alko is required by law to sell drinks with lower alcohol content than 5.5% and non-alcoholic alternatives, but in practice carries a very limited stock of low alcohol beer, cider and non-alcoholic drinks and others as supermarkets are allowed to sell those at a substantially lower price. By law, alcoholic drinks may only be sold to those aged 18 or above.

So, the chances of this impacting that many retailers to any degree doesn't seem that severe, given the it's Alko enacting the stop sale. If the local restaurant has a bottle of Stoli or two, then I'm not sure if they'll still be able to sell it or not.

So if part of Putin's plan was to scare former Soviet block countries away from NATO, then it's backfired, as Kosovo has asked for an accelerated membership process and a US base to be established.

The reason why Bosnia and Kosovo are trying to join nato because there is talks of war with Serbia attacking Bosnia and Kosovo.

All done with Russian backing by the way. Bosnian Serbs with Russian backing are trying break away Bosnia and Herzegovina due to this another war in Bosnia could happen. Also we could see another Kosovo as Serbia wants to reclaim Kosovo.

There are anecdotes about his doubles. He is 69 y.o, so there could be some problems.
someone with a slightly bloated face
Botex?
really didn't want to be catching Covid.
Who wants? Especially when Omicron dont care about vaccine or immunity.

Overall, what you talking is possible, but at conspiracy theories field.
