I am sure inCloud you are just as disgusted as the billions around the world with Russia, very very sad.
Crying. My grandfather is from Donbass, spend his early years in Kharkiv, then in WWII was evacuated to Russia and still live here. He served in Soviet Army, developed some staff for anti air weapons and currently professor in SPB University. He have access to internet and understand English. He doesn't believe that our army using Grads against people, still talking about 8 years of Donbass, Azov and russian speaking ultras that was send there by Ukrainian gov. He is wise men and I love him like father, but I am in rage.

Its really hard to believe that your army could do this. Around 50% of our citizens thinks that this war is legit and army fighting with Nazi's. Sure, most of them doesn't have access to opinions different from official.

Ah, the projecting tactic. Pass on what you aim to remove to your foe because you are secretly exactly what you say the foe is.

PMC is illegal in RF. I'm not saying its not true, but don't think there can be some proof for this. As I said before - both sides of conflict will post fakes, its understandable.

In Russia, illegal means illegal for Putin's opposition.

Those wagners are brutal and ruthless.

They committed some pretty awful atrocities in Syria and Libya.

There is a video of wagner mercs torturing a Syrian man with a sledgehammer.

The video is on the internet. I would advise not to watch but discretion advised.

To be fair to Putin, the only way he can "denazify" Ukraine is by ensuring there's actual Nazis there to start with, so it makes sense to send in his Nazi buddies.

After all, that's how he ensured that there were terrorists in Donbas, a region which voted more than 5:1 for independence for Ukraine in 1991 and 2.5:1 to continue to be part of Ukraine in 2014 (in a highly dodgy referendum that wasn't recognised by any government anywhere, including Russia) despite two decades of Putin-funded Russian separatist terrorism.

Of course if the Nazis get the same treatment, Putin will have succeeded in "denazifying" Ukraine by sending Nazis in to be killed.

Do you seriously not believe that Wagner has and continue to carry out operations on behalf of the Russian state?

PMC's may well be illegal in Russia, that doesn't mean they don't exist (as they can be technically HQ'd in a country outside Russia) and certainly doesn't mean they don't get used by the Russian State.

Well it's either than or it's a massive series of coincidences that they pop up in locations Russia has military activity and Putin then accidentally gives them medals.

Wagner's operations for the Russian state are well documented and they have a habit of providing proof themselves, proof that most people would not want to watch.

You can even read into the fact that the group is possibly named after Richard Wagner, who has been connected to the origins of Nazi ideology as well.

I believe that they exist and associated with Russian government. But anything related to this organisation is in grey area. You cant be 100% sure about anything with them.

Russian citizens cant legally participate in any merc activity anywhere, its criminalized.

Kinda. Its not organisation or merc company like US PMC, its criminal organisation.

Thanks for your post as always - they definitely seem very legally grey to me, certainly not outright outlawed (talking about Wagner specifically here) - I've read their stations are close to Russian military bases and that Russian military officers have been involved with training them.

It's illegal and it's grey, but it's also well documented. See the bellingcat link I provided.

And yet Putin's been photographed with them and given them medals

Yep, a state backed one.

Correct. On our territory they have security company status.

De-Nazification involves wiping out sites of mass graves left by USSR and the Nazis.

Wagners are Russia's shadow army.

Basically if anything goes haywire Russia can just deny they were apart of it.

All about deniable ops. Proxies and the use of mercs is becoming more common as countries want somebody else to do their dirty work.

In Syria there was an incident where Wagners faced the Americans until most of them got bombed by the US airforce despite the Wagners calling for support by the Russian armed forces their comms got cut.

MSC and Maersk have suspended shipping to Russia:

They join Ocean Network Express and Hapag-Lloyd who've already suspended shipping into Russia:

I wonder if Erik Prince has any A10s laying around...

US, Canada, and other Allies to release 60 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves.

For reference, per that article, Russia exports about 5 million barrels per day.

From the latest footage coming out of Kharkiv, Russia is resorting to what can only be described as terrorist attacks. Disgusting. What kind of soldier agrees to target a public square and opera house?

The bombing of Dresden was terrible but at least you could argue it was a response to bombing of London. Germany was the aggressor in that war. I sense the Russian military (and Putin) are growing frustrated by slow progress and acting increasingly recklessly.
