On a different note...has anyone tried either of the M5s? Using nothing but engine modifications and the power limiter I ran a 1:32.150 with the '05. Considering my best times are in the mid 1:31 range this is a bit concerning. The stock suspension on these cars is phenomenal and they have a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Thinking if you replaced the stock transmission (which is very good) with a properly tuned fully customizable one and an adjustable LSD they could be deadly.

I hope to be back in a couple of days so I'm just wondering, I'll share the car but how do I go about getting the car to the drivers? Do I put out a friend request or do they? (I feel like a asking all these qustions) Thanks for all your help this has been a blast trying the shootout. Oh by the way I started tuning an audi A2 1.4 '02 but could only get 1:37:xxx out of it but it was fun trying to surprise everyone. Will post in my garage (when I have time, or if anyone is interested).

Yeah I liked the series 1 concept a lot just couldn't get the performance out of it I wanted. As for the M5s power to weight ratios I've found this to be slightly overrated as I can cite several examples of cars with great power to weight ratios that simply don't accelerate and corner well at all. Then you have cars like the M5s that are huge barges and at this PP only fair power to weight that accelerate and corner much better than the numbers seem to indicate they should.

And on that note...have any of the tuners involved in the FF shootout tried to run their cars here with the extra 25 PP?
I know in Kermits case its a huge increase in HP.

I have been trying a bunch of lightly tuned cars at 525pp on Laguna, the M5 blew me away! Also got its time in the fewest laps. I put all my extra points into weight reduction.

I also played with the LSD and suspension settings on the M5 as per Motor City Hami's generic FR tune, and it did NOT improve the car for me, it made it worse in fact. BMW's seem to be set up pretty nicely in stock form, probably why I like them so much However I agree, if a tuner can improve on this thing I think it would be a monster!

I posted my tune already, but for the 2nd time in two nights I beat the time of my Pagani with a different car.

Tonight was not even a BMW. The worst thing was I tuned the Brakes, LSD and Transmission with a Fixed Sports Kit suspension and was within 1/10th of my Pagani time. It took me 6 or 7 tries to beat the time with the full suspension kit! But it is fast now, very fast.

Well, if nothing else, I will open a little tuning garage next week. 💡
