Well done mate, I remember the relief I used to feel after those things.

Enjoy the free time you've earned yourself.

Not just yet, testing some cars right now.

Edit: was there a video of the WRS lap at Laguna somewhere in this thread?

zero_speed's Evora1:28.471
Very good car!
It's very easy to drive, not so easy as the Coutach , that has a perfect handle, but it's still very good. It oversteers a litte, that is perfect for my driving style!

GfxJG's Zonda 1:30.120
Sorry mate, but I really couldn't adapt to your car...It's ok to drive, but I tried to get a lap under 1:30 for more than 30min and nothing...
It's brakes are really good, but it sometimes oversteers on critical times!
I know that the car has much more to give, but it don't suits to my driving style, sorry...

bigberry's Countach 1:29.839
Man, I loved to drive this car! It isn't the fastest, but it handles like heaven! It understeers a litte, but it's still awesome!

ascr421's Audi TTS 1:28.778
What a car! It's not the kind of car that I like, because it understeers a litte on the corner's exits..
I like the car when it has a litte understeer like the Evora. But it stil made a great lap under 1:39! Perfect work, because I hate the TT :)

Correcting- ''I like the car when it has a litte oversteer like the Evora'' Not understeering

praiano63's R8 4.2 FSI 1:28.437
Perfect car!!I couldn't find a single problem, it seems that it was made for my driving style! There's no understeering, but there's no oversteering as well!
Great job my friend!

XDesperado67's Audi Pikes Peak Quattro 1:28.964
OMFG! When I saw this car I tought that I wouldn't get a lap under 1:30 but could! It's the faster SUV I've driven.Congratulations Xdesperado67, this tune was the most surprising one! The car handles pretty good and there is no understeer at all!

CSLACR's M3 CSL '03 1:28.408
This is the best M3 I've driven! Very good work! The oversteer is there, of course, but it's just a little, the way I like! The car suits with my driving style perfectly just as praiano63's R8!

Temetias's Opel Speedster1:30.556
I think I drove this car to It's limit. It oversteers too much, but with some practice you will handle it. It's very fun to drive BTW. Good job!

Dylans1o's Audi R8 4.2 FSI 1:28.584
Another very good R8! This car is perfect at corner's exits! No understeer at all! As good as praiano63's! Little more than 0,1s between them. They're both awesome cars!

Assassin Tuner's M3 '04 1:29.045
I'm on the limit of the car here too...I don't see where I can be faster...But the car is great! I always knew that the CSL was faster, because I've already driven both before. But great job assassin tuner, I tought that the difference would be more! This car hasn't as much grip as the CSL, and it oversteers a little more.

-raVer-'s M5 '05 1:29.233
There's another car that isn't hard to drive, but it understeers, that is terrible for my driving style...Good work, it isn't a bad time, but I really couldn't bring this car to top.Maybe beacuse it's much heavier than the others BMWs.

CyKosis1973's Caterham Fireblade 1:33.539
I tought that this car would be hard to drive, but it isn't. I felt like I was driving a formula car, very much grip on the corners. I think that the bad time is explained because of low engine power. It was a pleasure to drive it!

shmogt's Miura 1:28.884
Awesome car! Very technical! Is pretty hard to find a fast lap, because if you go 101% of what the car allows, it punishs you! You can't release the break without a little throtle imput, otherwise the car oversteers flawlessly. :) That's the only problem; instability while braking, the rear wants to enter the turn before the front. Awesome job!

madmyk's Zonda C12 1:29.384
Awesome work! This Zonda suits better to my driving style.
I really think it can go under 1:29, but I've tested it for 42min and that's the best I got.The car handling is good, no understeer, and a little bit of oversteer, just the way I like :)

Jackthelad's R8 4.2 FSI Tronic 1:29.114
Fast and easy to drive. The only problem? Understeer compared tho the othes R8s. This car is recomended for DS3 players, because it's very easy to drive, the praiano63's R8 and the Dylan's R8 have a little bit more grip.
If you use DS3 it's good to test this car.

GTP_Mafiaboy's Gallardo 1:29.767
The car is ok, the oversteer is there, and that's no problem for me, but the understeer is there too, and this is a big problem for me.
Very easy to drive too.

Slayer1002's M3 CSL 1:28.287
As good as the top 4 cars. Very similar to CSLACR's car in handling. I have nothing to say about it. It's just a perfect work in a car.

Test updated!
Only 1 car to go I think.
On saturday I will end it and I'm going to test some cars that I think that have a little more to give.

Is that last car mine?.....if were not "friends" send my a FR and I hope to be home late tomarrow.....if we are "friends".... saving the best for last then? :D

Apologies for disappearing on you guys. Been a bit under the weather this week and not up to doing much GT5.

Plunked in some of my results to this point. The rest should be done by tomorrow afternoon at which point I will start banging out second runs to get those last few tenths out of the cars. I expect the top of the board to shake up some with a few of the big guns from the FF shootout still on deck.

This has been fun as always. Regardless of results these cars are fantastic. No tuner here should feel in any way disappointed in their work. 👍

Lotus Evora - Zero_speed - 1'29.533
Loving the brakes on this car! They have a sense of urgency without being harsh and catchy. The car steers well on and off the binders. Aesthetically, this thing is killer! I love me an orange car but that carbon hood really does something for it. Not that aesthetics really matters but...

Great run! I remembered from the FF shootout where you said my brakes were a bit soft. So when I noticed you signed up to drive again, I kept that in mind glad it is paying off :sly:

1'36.908 - Caterham Seven Fireblade (CyKosis1973)

Caterham Seven Fireblade - CyKosis - 1'36.908
The time belies how much fun this thing is. Such a blast to rev the nuts off the Fireblade! Difficult in the tighter corners. I think that the lightness and lack of power just didn't match well with the course.

Lovely job Digi. The extra 130kg keeps the car from spinning the rear wheels, but does compromise the car somewhat. I need to tighten up the braking and still need to work on corner exit. I did think about adding some power and limiting it back down to take advantage of an improve power curve. But that felt like a bit of a cheat.

I wish PD had done a better job, or given us a different Caterham. I'm going to look at a few cars this afternoon, because I think this poor little motor has been dealt an unfair hand.

However, I think as a collective, you guys have shown that whilst it may be diminutive, it can punch way above its weight. I think it also, more so than any other car here, shows the gulf in driving ability. There are drivers here that are the better part of 6 seconds faster than myself..!!

Thanks once again Digi, and to all the other testers...

uMadson?
Oi, I'll be testing the cars now, can you guys add me up so that I can borrow off the test cars from you?

This as well, I might do some testing to get me some experience back from my 3-week holiday. I can't guarantee I'll do everyone but I have 20 mil to spend so I can just buy the cars you have and tune them to the specs. ;)

+1. The Caterham in this game is too slow for what it is. The R500 should be in this game, it's faster than a Veyron on a track :D

If there are any testers that do not have me on there friends list please FR me on PSN and my wife or daughter will except it as I will be away from my ps3 till the 21st. Thanks :)

Onboy please, can you link at the first page :

-Yourself with your times post

And the others 3 testers when they will post their times. Thanks my friend.

Have a good day.

Tried Cykosis Caterham it was a blast best lap of 1.36.27x , I feel like I could take a second off that time but couldnt find it.

Indys a legend running a 1.33.4xx :D

Just sent you a FR on PSN.

@sprplay just accepted your FR sorry I didn't send you one earlier.

Are there any other test drivers who need me to send them a FR on PSN?

Thanks, a legend not close, That tune was built for Laguna Seca like I said put in gear and go! little to no breaking and flinging the little bloke around Dry Lakes was a blast.

It's a bit of a mess. Superlight, R500 or the CSR, properly represented, would have been fine. Unrealistically light and underpowered, but with a massive PP. There isn't much it can compete with.

Hand the keys over Onboy :D

Thanks for valeting for me OnBoy, keep the car once we're all done here Sir. I'm working on a shiny new one that I grabbed from the OCD a few weeks back 👍

You can find that extra second BigB. After our little tussle a few weeks back, I know you're smooth enough through the corners. With the car as low on power as it is, you've just got to make sure you can carry as much speed into a corner as you dare and get on it as soon as you can. But you've got to be as smooth on the pedals as you are with the wheel. Flighty bassa..!!

As per above, I've got another one on the go now, quite a different setup for the suspension. I'm thinking of upping it to 550PP as well, just to give it some legs on longer tracks. Oh, and I'm running it on S1 tyres too. Obviously I'm a glutton for punishment...

Glad that my notes helped! I know it its different for everyone with varying driving styles but if I helped get you a tenth somewhere that you didn't have before, job done. It really is a fantastic car. I may like it more than Roj's Juliet and anyone who read my review of that little Lotus will know that is pretty high praise. :D

I like that you didn't go the limiting path. Like you I feel that would be a bit of a cheat for a comp like this since I can't think of a single street car that would run a restrictor plate or such. If we were doing rally cars or NASCAR however...

I'd love to see an R500 make it to the GT mix. I'm glad they included them at all really; I'm trying to convince myself to buy and build one some time in the future.

And that gulf can be easier to bridge than many people think. Once you find the guys that are faster and learn what they are doing you can start shaving off (in my case) seconds at a time. Have to say though, guys like CSL and the other D1 WRS folks make it look soooo easy.

post updated.

Please don't go mad :nervous:, but I fear I couldn't finish the test on all tunes due to IRL time limitations. For the folks that haven't sent me a FR for lending their cars: Please do so. If I find some time, I will give it a try.

But I hope my comments done so far helped in any way ...
