Same car GT cup: THURSDAYS - Signup here

Thought i'd share my idea for next season

Starting off at Tokyo for round 1.

We then fly over to Laguna seca for round 2

Then travel Indianapolis for the Indy 500 and round 3.

After this we then fly to Madrid for round 4.

We then stop at le mans for the le sarthe 24hrs and round 5

For round 6 we move to london for a sprint cup .

Round 7 is the nurburgring 24hrs where we join in for the race weekend

After the excitement of the nurburg ring we fly over to Monza to join the racing during the f1 weekend for round 8

We then stop for a short period at Rome and race round 9.

Then we fly back over to join the Tsukuba 9hr race for round 10

After a short trip on the bullet train we head to fuji raceway round 11.

Finally after a busy season we finish at the spritual home of japaneese racing. the 1 the only suzuka race circuit for round 12

That sounds really good willfred.

I just hope you don't mean we do 500 miles of indianapolis or 9hrs at Tsukuba and 24hrs at Nurburgring... I would be divorced if I even attempted that

Would love a trip on the bullet train though.

And when you say 'London for a sprint cup', do you mean a series of short races?

Driver101 - Yeah you are right about this championship being marred by connection issues in the first few rounds, so a fresh start would be good.

Also the idea of droping your 2 worst scores is a good one. We know that works in RC racing.

What do you guys think about the NSX vs GTR vs Lexus idea?

I was thinking we could have a team championship too, so 2 or 3 drivers have to buy the same car and be team mates.

Also... what do you guys think about trying to make the racing a bit closer for the next championship...

Maybe the guys at the top of the standings (or have demonstrated excellent results but have maybe missed a few rounds) have to use a car with slighly lower PP and the lower down the standing you finish, the higher PP you get?

I am talking, only a small difference in PP. Say a difference of 10pp between the top drivers and bottom drivers.

The other thing we could do is add ballast like they do in real life racing....

Yes / No ???

Hey homes, I tried to reply to your message but your inbox is full:

hey bubble. what happened to you in the race? hope u didn't get crashed off. did u have a good holiday? I will send you updated results tomorrow. bye for now.

I got crashed into the first turn and it put me a long way back then I caught back up and got wrecked again all in the first two laps so. I had no chance at any better position, therefore no point in racing.

for the sprint cup we could have 16 people compete in a tournament. where 1st and 2nd places go to the next round till a winner is found
i could run that if you want
and for the disconnection idea could we test it this week.
we would need to start qualifying 10 mins earlier. so we could do the half hour qualifying and allow time for me to note down the qualifying times it will also give you time to chat or go to the loo or something before the race

I am not a fan of a knock out series, I like a championship that rewards consistent results.

What about no TC. This should spice it up??

Agreed on the no corner cutting stuff. We need to look at more flowing race tracks. Tracks Like Deep forest, Monza, Grand Valley, Suzuka are all good race tracks where skill should prevail. On the whole, I am enjoying the thursday races they are good fun and generally clean. 10 Races for the series is also a good option. Depending on your time availability, we might need to have a long race, perhaps 50 laps or something like that. So a series of 20 to 30 and then one mother. I like the idea of having a series type event, but perhaps you want to make it something along the lines of JGTC or even DTM, but limit the pp so that everyone has a chance. At least this way will allow us to customise the other aspects of the car like suspension, telemetry and gearing.

Sorry for the lack of update messages on PSN. I dont have an internet connection until next monday!

Don't worry, we will be on track as usual this thursday. :)

I will announce the new championship next week so keep a look out.

Tomorrow it's show time for sure...

If we go with the 5 different cars, have any teams been arranged yet? I don't mind who I get as my teammate(s) as long as they can behave and *ahem* lose honorably :sly:

Hi Homes,

Please consider these tracks for the next series.

Cape Ring
Grand Valley
Deep Forest
Trail Mountain

These tracks are fantastic and will provide awesome racing.

we've experimented and if u guys don't mind i want to see how competitive the nsx's are due to them being MR
this race

Time seems to pass really slowly when waiting for the event. Remember guys, the first corner is tight and it's easy to ruin one's race by forcefully trying to take positions. Take it easy, the race is really long and there's definitely a lot of time and a lot of room to make it into the lead even while starting from the midfield or the back. I'm quite positive we'll see a large group battle emerging with the super-close field, and drafting will play a big part...

As a suggestion, if the next season becomes a big one, we could have prizes delivered for the best drivers (possibly not just the top 3, but also some who have different accomplishments, ex. qualifying champion). Also, since I'm in for the multiple cars used in this season, I'm suggesting a team championship - however, in case some drivers don't show (which is bound to happen), we could have a maximum of one or two drivers scoring points for the manufacturers' championship to keep things fair. Everyone would still be eligible for the drivers' championship, to prevent a situation where two drivers of a team race for real and the third one just blocks the others and pushes them off the track while protecting his teammates from the other teams' number 3 drivers :sly:

A few issues to address here: 1) Does anybody really look at the website I made? If not I will not worry about updating it.
2) Can we race on either Monday or Sunday next season? I suppose I could do Thursday's still it though it'd be tight on time. But of course if it doesn't work for other people I'm hardly important.

And when you start the new championship no matter what day it's on I will need a replacement driver for 3-4 weeks

Cool race, too bad all the battles took place behind me, but at least I had some peace and wasn't pressured into mistakes in an important event like this. Before I make any speculations, we shall wait for the official results, Agent is apparently getting points despite yet another DC (he'll be somewhere in the 4th-7th places) so it'll very probably be a 3-way battle for glory into the season finale...

As for scalebreaker (our newest winner for those who weren't around), I watched the replay and noticed that he seemed to have a bit better acceleration than the rest. Because he's not involved in the championship battle, I won't investigate the matter any further, and fortunately we don't need to worry about these controversies once we get the new season underway. BTW, the practice races were really nice, although my Denso Sard Supra was clearly overpowered... Well, I've got my eyes on an NSX if they make it into the allowed cars list.

it is very easy to tell who is using aids during the race. I hope the only aids for next season is tc and skid because it is ridiculous how different the lap times are. Though i got disconnected i just feel like some short cut penalties did not make any sense at all. in the first corner i went wide and got a short cut penalty for going on the outside and off the track i dont understand that. plus on the last corner i went wide again and was barely off the track and got a penalty i just dont understand how stupid the system is lol. w/e im looking forward for next season becasue of the teams which should help out people.

Well you know, if they (aids) are allowed, then I'll use them, there's no doubt about that. I don't know if some of them get prohibited for the next season, but overall I'm fine with whatever rules there are, because of my experience with TOCA (they don't use any aids, except that ABS is allowed on level 1).

If anyone wants to be my teammate on the upcoming season, then definitely inform.

I missed the part in the forum where it says we will have teams next season. Has the next season been announced? Please tell me what it says.

Quick Q: How does someone manage to be 3sec faster with same car and aids??

Man...that was quick, there was no way I could ever have dreamed of keeping up.

Wilfred - We had a great close race with Agent and Homes, sure a few love taps /bumps here and there, but that's racing dude, at least its wasn't full blown take outs.

Homes nice finish....lol

Yeah, we were having a great battle. Canu was involved for a bit too. So unfortunate for agent. Another disconnect.

I will post results later when I have heard from willfred.

I know some people are suspicious of scalebreaker, but I have raced with him many times so I know he is just super fast. I can usually keep up with him for a few laps if I drive my socks off, but he is too fast with far less mistakes than most of us, so he probably wins about 95% of the races he enters.

@Bubble - I do use the website, and am very grateful for your efforts. Thanks :)
I will announce the next championship next week and yes, I am thinking about changing it to monday nights. Watch this space...

qsilver was leading the qualification when it ended.

I think we should give ballast penalties in the next season to even the odds, because if scalebreaker continues to race, he'll take all competition away by just winning everytime... that's not about right.

However, it's safe to assume that the 1'33 lap was cheating. I took everything out of the car and could only get a mid-1'35 at best during the quali, so something was wrong back there. qsilver's earlier time was pretty much acceptable now that I think of it, he apparently drafted someone to cut off a real big chunk from the time... yeah.

oo i'd like to join in on this, i currently race from the recommended list with my mates, but i don't think they're up for 20-30 laps.
