I thought the VOL files in the demos didn't work with GT2VOL? I tried them with the demos I have and they won't unpack at all.
Well what i ment was can you post a pic of what it looks like when you take cars from GT2 and move them to another game? I've seen the CLK GTR before on an old thread.Exactly.
I just tried to open with GT2VOL the GT2.vol files inside some GT2 demo discs in order to find that CLK that is seen in some pre-release IGN or Gamespot screens, and I'm encouraged by the fact that the memory addresses seem to be the same, as you can actually play cars which weren't intended to play modifying the data in memory through an hex editor (eg the C4 Corvette, which also happens to show some sort of weird 3rd light on the back I don't remember it was there in the final version of GT2) but, since noone ever knew exactly the code for the CLK, I presume there's no way to find it other than trying every single code.
However, there are screenshots of that CLK on the net, so it must be somewhere, in some lost PSX demo of the game or press version: in the first case, only time'll give an answer.
There are torrents on the net you can download the demo versions from. I presume you're using epsxe with pec cheating, so if you get an hex you may try to do some research (if you're only interested in the plam strip, I'm quite sure it isn't there, though).
P.S.: Hope I'm not saying anything illegal here. They were demo versions intended to be spread freely, so there's no reason downloading them should be considered dangerous for Sony or any other developer.

Yea im sure and also what demo disc are you talking about? Which particler one are you talking about? No. Try with google, that's the only thing I can do as my work in progress conversion has vanished from my pc from years. Or try to ReVolt forums, they're plenty of users who make such conversions, maybe you'll find some examples.
Yea im sure
Not sure were your going there on that 1st sentance, but i do believe what you are saying, frankly im just alittle confused. Also i have seen in game snapshots of this CLK GTR before on one of the demo disc.Is there some irony here? Because that wouldn't be fair, considering you've no reason not to trust what I'm saying.
However, the discs are Official PS Magazine (United States) 46 and the other's just unuseful as it contains the exactly same demo.

Sorry guess i should think twice when I type stuff because it may make sense to me but probly not to others. I believe you when you say you don't have the pictures and frankly i doubt many people do anymore. (At least on here) I'll try and find one and post it hereI was saying you seem a bit ironic, when you reply something like "Yea I'm sure" as I refuse to show you pictures of the conversion I can't post because they're not on mu computer anymore.
Yea it was that one i seen it in. Wish the car itself existed in there thoughWould that be the Jampack winter demo disc? I forget which one it was exactly, but i'm sure it was that one.
Yea i didn't expect it to be in any demos at all. Sad that it isn't I have heard that there was video that was shown before it's release featuring that car, is that video anywhere to be found on the internet?I made a code that loads a body depending on the value in the arcade mode.
I tried it with all the demos I have and I couldn't find the CLK-GTR anywhere. I believe it was deleted right after the E3 demos most likely.
Aparently you have a early version of 1.1 or a late version of 1.0. Seems like mine did to and i know mine is 1.0. What about the car wash? Did show up as 5000 CR when it's cost is really 50 CR?I'm confused about something. I thought that the Mark Martin #6 ford taurus racing mod was only available to v1.0 of GT2, but I have v1.1 and I was able to get access to that racing mod in GT mode with it. I know it's v1.1, the muscle car licenses are fixed and the peugeot 206 on tahiti maze can complete the course.

@Xenn- Yeah there's a pic of it on the PS Underground Winter disc. Also on that disc there's a video with Kaz, and there's footage of them getting sound profiles for cars. and footage of some cars that didn't make it into the demos or game. As well there is footage of what appears to be a really early demo, the tach numbers are screwed up and the graphics look worse than GT1.
I kinda wish those cheat codes xenn posted worked for my GT2 demo variant. My GT2 demo, I have no idea what variant I have. All I know is the PS underground disc label says "disc 2", it was part of a 2 disc PS underground pack that I got with my PS1 I think. "disc 1", if I remember correctly, had the kaz GT2 interview video on it. The model name of the disc is "SCUS-94445".
There's a few ways to tell the differences between the demos.
Early Demo: The Lotus Elise in the later demos is replaced by the Audi S4, the gameplay feels more GT1'ish too and the Mitsubishi Lancer has no turbo either.
Bonus Disc Demo: The Audi S4 is replaced by the Lotus Elise, the gameplay feels more like GT2 now.
Later Demo: The title screen demos features a Subaru Rally car, a new info was added to the HUD in gameplay (Course Record) and overall feels more complete.
Yup, my demo doesn't have the Lotus Elise, but has the Audi S4 '98 and the menus have GT1 sound effects. On the hub, it displays the position, lap time, total time, speed, gear, & revs. That's about it. I guess I have the early demo then.
Hmm, try the early demo codes I have on my gameshark topic. It should work with that.
I'm one of the 2-3 people who converted cars from GT2 for ReVolt. I use PSicture to extract the cars' textures, then use ZModeler to edit the car (model the wheel arches and the chassis) and UV map it. I make my own wheel mesh for the cars.PatruckNo. Try with google, that's the only thing I can do as my work in progress conversion has vanished from my pc from years. Okey awesome! Im using my ps vita right now, it is alot better with typing, i'll look and see if i can find it, try to post the link if you get on your computer. Im anxious to see it.Not that hard for me tbh. My most recent GT2 conversions are the closest you'll see to being 1:1 with the original. search on rvzt.net for Wedssport Celica, BP Apex Kraft Trueno and Momo Corse Apex MR2. I can't send you any links because I'm posting with my PSP. I also apologise for double posting, it's the only way around the PSP's text limit.
Yea it's in every version. Were any of you aware that Eiger Path shows up in the PAL intro?
Now thats what i call a sucessful conversion! Good Job Nero! 👍Here's the link to Nero's work in Re-Volt.
I am very impressed with the conversion of the GT2 cars, especially the race cars.
