Did someone check the contents of the CD that comes with the "Music at the speed of sound" OST? There is a demo.

Whuh? :dunce:

We went all over this. The so-called "Gran Turismo 2 Bonus PlayStation Disc" demo actually originated from that OST album. The codes are over the Hybridding section. 💡

Certainly not. Because demos are practically on eveywhere(they are hidden,playable,....)

I can't think of many other game soundtracks that come with a playable demo of the game in question. That seems pretty cool to me.

I found a cartsky file, an au file and an indisky file on bgsobj folder in GT2.vol. I don't get it. indi is a cut out beta track, why is the sky file still on the final version? And what about the cart and the au one? Also, what map are mskyX and mskyX2 files from?

It's also funny that some tracks still have their old names, like no name dirt course, parmanent. There are also .usedcar_jpn and .usedcar_usa files. Could this mean that they would have used cars individually?

GT2 was a rather rushed game, I don't think they had the time to remove everything that wasn't going to be used in the game.

mskyX/mskyX2 is probably used somewhere, i'm not sure where though.

BINGO! Found the cart2p map file! But it is so... tiny! I also found the Gtest map, it is visible. Another thing is that there are weird names! OK I get it naming the SSR5 map highway is logical, but why bill_checkered for the Red Rock Valley map and testline for High Speed ring??
EDIT: Here are the maps. I don't know if these are maps from playable tracks:

A viewer like PSicture will view those .tim files. It's a standard PS1 picture format.

I imagined motor sport land was like a karting track, that's possibly why it's called cart2p. bill_checkered probably for the earlier versions of Red Rock Valley, as there were several testing stuff in there.

Testline though, not really sure. Maybe the internal name PD decided to give it.

They are dummy models for testing. Cannot be opened on Zmodeler at last on my pc.

Used cars on united states? Interesting

Well, the demos of GT2 all shown an Used Car option in every manufacture. So, that could be part of the reason why.
