^I'll do that later. Here's the opel vectra and vauxhall vectra pics:

The only visible differences I can see other than the badges are the grills and rims.

EDIT: I managed to be able to get time to screenshot the racing modded astras. Here they are:

EDIT #2, I went back to look at the GT2 demo again and tried using the body code with a few of the hidden cars from the final GT2, I came up unsuccessful with most of the cars. The CLK Race Car and C-Class DTM crashed, but I also drove a lap with some other cars that had altezza placeholder bodies and I found some interesting text in the Result screen for each one.

Tigra Shamonix?! I guess they meant Chamonix.

Tigra Chamonix? Isn't that the Tigra Race Car named differently?

Yes, PD named a lot of the cars differently in GT2 as a matter of fact. The Plymouth Muscle Car in the demo is called its actual name, the "Road Runner". The Tiger Ice Race Car was named the Chamonix in the demo since it originally competed in an Ice Race on the Chamonix course.

It's impossible to know without finding their part codes...but if the game is crashing if they're used, chances are they don't have any.

Всем привет!:)
Hello,guys
here i am back again, and i want some help :)
i decided to convert all cars and routes with textures in a normal format (z2d,which is much better than unusual and strange cdo/cno)
and put them all to the new gaming engine(i mean use models to make a PC re-make with better graphics like in trailers,blah-blah-blah,or something....i don't know yet, mabye i'll just photo them)

so,the point is to convert 3D model to z3d and textures to png.
how can you see, there is no problem for me to edit or convert 3D model.
here is the image of the course_bg converted.

but i have problem with textures (cdp/cnp files)

i can't understand, how to get right palette or something like this.
every time i'm trying to get it,it has wierd colours that looks not the same as the game, but sometimes (not always) some parts of texture is looking a bit like in-game texture.but i need full texture in right colours :c

i need your help guys :D

Yeah, they're really isn't much left in these cars. Maybe I could check the 3rd demo, but I need a body replace code for that in the races. I'll try the replace mustang code though.

Well, I checked the 3rd demo to see if I could get the GT40 Le Mans. It showed up as a place holder altezza. On the bright side, I did look up the TRD Chaser and look:

It comes in multiple colors! :) :D

EDIT: The Shelby GT500 KR and Mercedes-Benz C Class Touring car both have place holder bodies in the Euro 53 demo.

If you are interested,i looked trough my american simulation disk and found 4 3D models of ford GT40 (with textures, but i don't kniw how to get right pallettes )
they are looking nearly simmilar, but they are a bit different ;)

hope that looks interesting :)

and of course,i still need help with textures :embarrassed:

^Nice one FerrariGT. Keep up the good work.

Here's another funny thing; I entered a code in for the Focus Rally Car and instead of an Altezza place holder this time, I get a normal Focus. The CLK Race Car still crashes the game in the Euro 53 demo even.

for opening 3d cars files i am using Zmodeler 1.07b
but i only open and convert models to Z3D with it,because 1.07b is very glitchy :c

For texturing, making new models and just for work with models i am using Zmodeler 2.2.3

hope that helps :)

I'm finaly have idea about how to open 3D track files...
I've searched trough the internet for plugins, programms and everything else, that could open a .tro format, but it seems like it was PD own file format.
one thing, that i can't understand is why they have made so hard formats?:D
all i found is something, that looks like 100 years-old page that says, that .tro is 3D format and blah-blah,and there was a programm name, that could open it.
i've searched for the "Visual Topo" and found strange, but official page of this programm.
it's french.Last update 2012. there is typed something like its programm for geologs, that can make 3D model of the cave.
i don't think, that PD made their racing tracks in this programm, but it seems,it can open a track files for us :D

here some footage for you :)

wclo.png

and of course, their kinda "official" site of this programm
http://vtopo.free.fr/vtopo.htm

and from here i know about this programm http://www.mlaverty.plus.com/xml/survsoft.htm

mabye, anyone can find this programm and downolad it for me,or give me a link to it?
i didn't find any download links of this programm :c

i would like to open track files, because we may find some hidden stuff more easily, than driving trough the walls above invisible/laggy track parts.
that is for the palm/plam strip too
I mean, that's another chance to find it :sly:

i think there is more invisible stuff that we just can't se,because it has no textures, but id 3d view,we could:)

P.S.
from where you got all theese demos?
i would like to look trough them too :3
mabye,anyone have an ISO's ?
:)

P.P.S.
I still need help with textures!!!
can anybody tell me how to get thr right colours/pallets to convert textures to the .png format? :)

I think PD may have made some of the tracks with this software, it can read data from topographic hardware, the kind of thing you would use to make realistic maps of real world tracks.

You can get the demos on old PS Demo discs or other special disks. I believe there are some magazines demo on eBay or other auction websites, but not many of them on the internet, sadly.

I'm not sure if there's a way to get the right palettes, but you might want to try some software to browse through the VRAM of your console (or rather, the software we cannot talk about) and get the textures from there directly.

Well I am trying to convert the [R] Sileighty for GTA SA from GT2 (LOLYES), but I have trouble mapping and such things? Anyone who can help? Also, I tried to open a track with this Topo thing, but guess what. It crashes.

Mapping requires some art, especially in ZModeler (I guess that's what you're using). I did some a while ago with mixed success. I don't think GT2 has very hard meshes though.

I'll try to extract a model and have a go at mapping it. For fun :P

So, here's a little how-to to do basic UV Mapping in ZMod. So far I haven't finished an entire car yet, but it's more or less a matter of time.

First, load the model in ZMod (I tested the Opel Astra G SRI 16V):
astra-1.jpg

Then delete both the [0] and [1] LODs (right click->delete on the object view) to get only the (relatively) high-res model (unless you want the cardboard box one :P):
astra-2.jpg

Next, create the material that's going to be used. First open the Material dialog, then select '<default material>' in the dropdown list, press 'Copy', rename the copy, tick 'Primary Texture', press 'Load Map' to get the texture dialog, press 'Add' to load your texture, then select it and press OK. You should get a material with the texture on it.
astra-3.jpg

Afterwards, click on the button at the top of a view and choose 'UV Mapper' in the list. You should get a view with the texture on the middle.
Now, on the right side select 'Surface->Mapping->Assign UV', switch to 'Faces Level' (a button on the toolbar) and select the face you want to map. It should appear on the 'UV Mapper' view.
astra-4.jpg

Then, switch back to 'Object level' (a button next to 'Faces level'), click on the face you're mapping (in the 'UV Mapper' view), switch to 'Vertice level', click on the face you're mapping again. Now, there should be red points that can be interacted with. Look for what's in the 'Modify' menu on the right for options.
You goal is to move the polygon to where it should be on the texture map, it's a bit tricky sometimes but you'll see results quite quickly (since the models are quite low res).
Once you're happy with the results of the current polygon, just switch back to 'Object level', select the object in a 2D view, and repeat the selection again.

Here's what it looks like after mapping a few polygons:
astra-5.jpg

There is a way to map multiple polygons at the same time, but it's trickier and sometimes you just end up lost trying to find which line should you move next. It's probably faster, and can sometime yield good results, but not really needed.

For GTA ports you'll also need to add dummies and more stuff, but I'm pretty useless at this so you might want to check GTA guides for the required elements. You'll also need to add wheels, even though that's pretty easy (ZMod has a Cylinder primitive for basic wheels).

Hope this helps ;)

bad news.
visual topo is piece of crap, that crashed my super-computer :D
now it lost some strange fales, that are making hom to go to the internet.
it's good, that i have 3 computers, and many out her things to go to the internet:D
i'll fix it in a hour, but now i know: this programm can't open gt2 tracks(i was expecting this.)

i think,PD had written their our programm /plugin for 3D models.
but i will still search for the programm, that could open it.

everybody,DON'T download visual topo.
