It can be done but it takes ALOT of work. Shock tower cutting or going to Mustang II front suspension. Its the same amount of work in putting a DOHC Modular in a early Mustang.

In my opinion it's totally not worth the amount of time you'd have to put in from cutting out and shaving down the shock towers and beefing up the front end. You can get the same amount of power as a stock 427 by throwing a blower on a moderate 351W.
Oh yeah that is what I'm talking about. Look at that.
Yeah, because we know swapping engines is always on the lookout for more horsepower, not because it's just cool to have a side oiler in anything. Yup. 351 ftw.
Factory 5 Daytona coupe. So much want.. If I'd be offered keys, I wouldn't hesitate. This is the only car where I could live with solid rear axle, but fortunately it can be had with IRS.

Lol. Land yacht my bum. '66 Mustangs are tiny. They make a Viper look enormous. If you want a land yacht go look up something called a 1977 Ford LTD 4 door.
Leonidae@MFTEnough of V8 land yachts! Time for Sportscars of yesterday..
I've seen '65 mustang and it's a big lump of a car. Or maybe I perceive it as such as I'm not 6ft+ or 250lbs..
Have you ever seen a Lincoln continental? That's a land yacht lol. Early mustangs are tiny. 69 mustangs are huge in comparison and those aren't that big compared to some cars I'm used to. It must be your perception as I've seen a 65 mustang race a 2nd gen Viper and the mustang was smaller. ate the viper too lol. 64-66 Stangs are puny.
'65/'66 Mustangs are not "tiny". Yes they aren't "land yachts" as Leonidae put it, but they certainly are not tiny. It's easily a mid-large sized car.
~But if we're talking Mustangs, it doesn't get any better than this:

I think it's the fact that you might be use to small cars or something or that considering where you live; you might have not seen as big vehicles that I have encountered. To me, a mustang isn't considered tiny, but some are way smaller than cars like a Ford Crown Victoria, BMW 5-Series, or a Rolls Royce.
I'd personally say it's mid-sized at most.
I took this picture. I was in my grandfathers Chevy Colorado. They are not big cars.
I know, that's why I said "some mustangs are 'way smaller' than the cars I listed. I'm pretty sure "way" is a synonym for "a lot". I only said some because of the bigger models like the '05-'09 or '71-'73 models.

This is a land yacht.
This is not.
