Seems like it's in Hong Kong. I've seen plenty of R35's but never a matte black one. Second thoughts, is it Taiwan?

Ah ha. I'm going there for the F1GP at the end of September. Wonder if I'll bump into it?

I warmed up to the last two facelifts of Impreza after initial dislike (I really really dig the last one almost as much as bugeyes) but this new style doesn't stick to me at all. Even after shooting one for a little, which usually really changes my opinion of the car, I still find nothing sexy nor mean about it. It is still pure rental car in my eyes.

The capture is still really neat.

I Like the exhausts though

anyways hopefully this is either mean or sexy

Peugeot concepts, plus a random 206 and 607 which sneaked in there :P

Nice Sapphire Cossie above 👍 I prefer my Escort Cossies either completely stock or in full World Rally style though...

Really can't look more "right" than when it's standard.

(Remarkably hard to find a good picture of the Cossie rally car)

That passes my approval, as it's a combination of the two :P

I like the idea of ex-racers/rally cars converted for the road though. I've always loved the idea of taking a Renault Megane Maxi, one of my favourite rally cars ever, and dropping in some of the road car's creature comforts, aircon, road car dials, reasonable stereo etc, sound deadening, carpets... painting it all one colour...would be awesome.

What a car though. I really liked the Megane 16v but always wished they'd made a wide-arched version, like Ford did with the Racing Puma.

I'm pretty sure you can get a kit for it, I've seen some really convincing ones at a Modified car show last year.

But the road-conversion is a great idea, it'd have to be the Xsara for me...

I wonder if Renault and Citroen would service these... :P

All WRC rally cars are already road legal - they need to drive between stages on public roads don't they? ;)

I knew that bit, I've been argueing that point against someone in another thread :sly: When I was talking about road conversions I was just meaning adding creature comforts and removing all the decals, making it a bit more subtle and liveable!

@ Dan, yeah I've seen kits about (though it's hard finding pics on t'internet of them) but there'd be nothing like having the real thing and taking it the other way! I did find pics a while back of someone who'd put a wide arch kit on a DCi coupe... in fact I've found them, think the car deserves a place in this thread:

Perhaps not my taste in trimmings, but definitely has potential. With the right engine of course too...

Still the best looking car in the world, I believe... even after 16 years. Although maybe not THAT particular one.

Catch a ride up to Mont Tremblant any given weekend, you can see the FINA longtail lapping Circuit. He takes it out more often than his Ferrari FXX these days.

Lapping? More like spinning and stalling once every 4 corners, from what I saw the last time I was there last summer...
