I spent some time trying crazy things to see how this could possibly happen but can't break it on any of the test PC's and have 0 other reports of issues with this. Are you available on Skype?

I don't do Skype but I wont give up. It seems like a video issue, perhaps because I use a USB monitor as an extension or maybe related to aero. Maybe it works as an overlay or something. I don't pretend to be a PC whizz but I know my way round so I'll get back on it tomorrow evening.

Does anybody here know why they list quad core CPU requirements? I am still on old fashion dual core but I don´t quite see why there is such requirements? Is this anymore taxing for the system then running dual sound cards with a game? Is anybody here running an external USB DAC or USB headset in conjunction with your ordinary soundcard?

Dashboard sorted :)
After ages looking at video options etc I went back to look at the game and noticed something common when I had the problem. The 'Background' setting for Dashboard always defaulted to 1024x768 when i selected a new sim button. If I went to load or save a preset, it put everything to 0.
A little more digging and I found that my dashboard was looking to load and/or save the complete dashboard data from the Dashboard/Telemetry Text folder instead of Dashboard/Complete Dashboards.
I dont know how because I dont think it's something I'd needed to look at before so wouldn't have changed knowingly. As I was trying to load a preset it was showing me the files in Telemetry Text so I naturally assumed things like Small LCD etc etc was a preset dashboard where infact it wasn't ;)
I dont have any preset dashboards that I can see so I'll start to make some safe in the knowledge I can find them again :)

The dashboard can be buggy sometimes, Steve

I tried making some dashboards today and had the whole dashboard disappearing on me a couple of times.
After creating a new one from scratch multiple times, i found out that adding a flipswitch without assigning a key directly to it, crashes and erases the whole dashboard.
Saving it to preset and loading it, gave me the same issue :all background values at zero

Got it all sorted out now too:)

That's surely a scenario we missed during testing. I never thought to add a toggle switch that did nothing. I'll try to work a solution for this into the next update.

Good stuff Steve, as you said, you do know your way around a computer. </thumbsup>

I think about me and sometimes wonder, a few pages back I wanted to say I ordered a pair of GTX 680's but said 670's instead, DOH!

Thanks Berney,👍

Indeed we missed that one :)

I was making a general button box and was planning to save the preset.
The plan was to load the preset in each game later and assign the specific buttons for each game.

With currently building a test configuration/platform.
I finally got a chance to attach the Clarke 429 to the seat.
Great low end from this unit even with music it feels really good from the 50-80Hz crossover point.

Found a great solution that instead of securing directly to the seat or the Gamepod metal seat attachment that I have. It attaches to both allowing the low end tactile I'm planning on using this unit for to travel more evenly through the seat from underneath and also from the sides. Even fits perfectly in between the seat runners...

My initial plan is to isolate the main section of the seat with TI 200 isolators on a separate platform (only basic bits of wood currently shown). Side tactile will be tested with "wind" as recommended by Greeze but not sure yet. Rear tactile can be used for rear engine when needed.

The Cobra seat mounts are secured to the Gamepod metal section which then attach to the seat.

The idea is to have a combination possibly of metal/wood used to attach to these Cobra seat mounts. Hopefully to enable the "Chassis" tactile from the 4x LFE to flow on it's own isolated tier going into the front and rear of the seat from these side mounts and by increasing the amount of contact to the side of the seat. May consider a bit of wood cut to fill in that gap area above and be shaped to run along the full length of the seat.

The question is how successful it will be but only one way to find out and then look to test various other possibilities.

Nice work mate ......But where's the TH8RS mount? LOL
Seriously though, its looking good. Perhaps it won't be too long testing now and you can finish building your rig :-)

Well I need to start getting some enjoyment from all the stuff and I think doing a trial build is a good idea as really the rig can be built around the tactile.

Oh don't worry about the shifter a mount for that is taken care of with the DSD sequential up front and both will be getting their own tactile.

Looking good Mr Latte 👍

That setup should give you a proper shake.
Interesting is that in the persuit of the "perfect" tactile rig you are moving to MDF and i'm moving to 80/20

No doubt yours will shake more though :)

Well my proper build will use metal components, solid wood and MDF.

The 4x LFE will be supported on metal tubing, it will represent better the placement of the wheels too.
That base platform is just for some early testing and I want to compare how the TI-300 on it prevent tactile vibrations going into the floor compared to the cheaper ones.

How you getting on with it mate?

I'm really chuffed with how well it fills in the gaps from motion. I've now found myself turning off road effects (vertical 26) in x-sim2. This means I get quieter motion and SimVibe takes care of most of the road effects. I may look at binning my auras, getting 4 x BK Mini LFEs for chassis mode and using my miniquakes for 2 x extension (pedals and shifter)

I think it's an excellent bit of software; waaay better than the audio-driven setup I had before 👍

A happy bunny here... :)

OK guys, please help me about this one >

ButtKicker Mini LFE SE

What are your thoughts? Will this even work? Total noob here, sorry about my ignorance..

Are you looking to run one BK on a seat? If so, that's just what you need :) I'm sure it's recommended that if you have just one BK then you should have it on the seat and use Extension mode in SimVibe

Yep, one BK on a seat, thats the plan.. Is one mini LFE SE "enough" for all the effects? I am mainly interested in simulating gear changes, kerbs and road texture, but of course the more the merrier :)

Ideally you would want more, but one is a good start :)
If you have one and try to have it do too many effects I imagine they will end up cancelling each other out.

The best thing is you can add them as and when you like.
What is your cockpit like? Do you have a fixed seat, H shifter, pedals etc?

Thinking about mounting it this way: metal plate, BK on it, plate screwed to the seat, ˇ quick paint job :)

Suggestions are of course welcomed..

Maybe use MDF board and that way you can easily move BK's around. Start with one BK in the middle and see how it goes.
My main base is MDF, best thing I ever did as it's so easy to move stuff around :)

Cool mate, go for it ;)
I guess you wont know how effective the shakers will be on an iron frame until you try it. Assuming it's square profile and very heavy you may find you'll want to isolate it from the floor. Hook it up and give it a go, that's the best way to start :)
Look forward to hearing how it goes 👍
