Grid Autosport works with simvibe.

You have to manual edit the hardwaresettingsconfig.xml (my documents/my games/Grid autosport folder) and best is to use the F1 2012 profile.

I already notified Berney Villers Jr. He mailed me back that he is very busy with simcommander 4, but i would expect a update for the game pretty soon.

Simcommander 3 is updated with Grid Autosport

All of a sudden for some reason SimVibe isn't working with Assetto Corsa. It tests fine but I get nothing in game, other games are working fine.
The only thing I did recently was uninstall and re-install the game.

Did the recent update do something to SimVibe?

I have had that happen with other games. To fix it with them I deleted the game inside simvibe and did the auto discover to replace it.

That happened to me with AC also. I performed the autodiscover but it seems like some of the effects, such as road bumps/texture are missing. Does anyone have those working? If not, I guess it must be due to the shared memory structure changes.

Thanks guys, I tried a few times to make new profiles in simcommander and It still isn't responding. I'm gonna have to take a break from messing with this.

I'm spending way too much time trying to coax software into behaving lately.

EDIT: I'm so glad its not me :D, its the latest update which has broken the simvibe support. Look here for more (towards the bottom)

@ericleroi I found this in the thread I linked to :

"Right now we just have road textures, gear shift and engine. We already have a channel called road bump but this broken and road texture, as you said its not even close to what suspensions are doing. No mater what people tell you, this is only what we have now because AC only export this. It doesn't matter if you are using chassis or any other mode.
Guys from Kunos already confirmed that we are going to have more channels by final release so unfortunately we can only wait.:("

Just copied this bit from Assetto's forum:

Among the most commonly requested Sim Commander features is often support for older games or non-racing games. You asked, we delivered. The following games have been added to the Sim Commander 4 beta and barring rejection by the beta testers, they will be included in the official September release of the Sim Commander 4. As a reminder, the Sim Commander 4 will be free to existing SimXperience product owners.

Yeah I saw that the other day, thats great since I just bought SimVibe a month ago. That would be a kick in the teeth if they charged for it.

The Dayton puck is a tiny bass shaker rated at only 15 Watts, I would not recommend these. I'm using Sinus Live Bass Pump III 8 Ohm shakers (50W), they do the job well and are relatively cheap.
I have no experience with the amp you mentioned, but please note it requires a separate 12V power supply.
Or you can buy a second hand 5 / 5.1 channel surround amp with 5 analog inputs (check the low end frequency range: it should be 20 Hz or less), that's what I did.

Would this Amp's work with Sinus Live bass?
Pioneer VSX 839RDS or VSX-D512-S or VSX- d710s?

Only connect 8 Ohm bass shakers. Do not connect 4 Ohm shakers, you may damage the amp.

I recently purchased a Buttkicker Gamer 2 (got it used over at iRacing) and I immediately also purchased Simvibe to use with it. I would caution you to try the Gamer 2 first, before you invest $90 for Simvibe. I have onboard sound on my motherboard, and a Creative Sound Blaster Z sound card. For whatever reason, I could not get the onboard sound to work correctly with the Gamer 2 and thus the performance of Simvibe was erratic at best. To be fair, that is not the fault of Simvibe, they cannot guarantee that my onboard sound will work correctly with the Gamer 2. So, I am now using the Gamer 2 without Simvibe and to be honest, it works great, both for PC games, including iRacing, but also for GT6 and other PS3 games.

There isn't anything about the BK2 that wouldn't work with your (or any) sound card, so it has to be an issue between simvibe and your sound card. Have you tried using your Creative sound card with simvibe and onboard for sound? Might be worth a try. While its great with using audio once you get simvibe working correctly there is no comparison.

That would suck - not being able to take advantage of SimVibe as it really works great - MUCH MUCH better than feedback from sound alone. The audio card requirements for Simvibe are pretty basic, why doesn't the on-board work for you? Does your on-board support 5.1?
If the on-board is a no-go for some reason, an option would be another inexpensive PCI card.

This is a good thought, but there is no way I am going to waste a great sound card like the Sound Blaster Z on tactile, and rely on the onboard for game sound. The Sound Blaster sound quality is head and shoulders above the onboard.

Yes, my on-board sound supports 5.1, and it worked great before I got my Sound Blaster Z sound card. For whatever reason, with the Sound Blaster Z installed, I cannot get Windows to properly configure the Gamer 2 for quadrophonic sound as required by the Simvibe instructions. I was able to nonetheless get Simvibe to work with iRacing, but the results were not great.

I can see your point, but for myself I would give up a bit of sound for simvibe. Would even loose surround for simvibe if I had to make the choice.

Yeah, I need the Sound Blaster Z not only for better quality sound, but also because it has Dolby Digital Live, which allows me to get 5.1 surround from my Astro A40 headset. The sound quality is amazing, as are the surround sound effects.

Wish I was more computer literate, I had something similar when I add sound card. It took me a week to work out my problem, it would probably take me a month to help you. It can be fixed though, maybe someone a bit more computer savy can help.

Are you configuring your on-board as Quadra phonic? I think that is only if using chassis mode. I have my sound card set as 5.1 as I'm using extensions mode.

Thanks for the info, I have now found a VSX 839RDS at a good price but I a bit uncertain on how to connect the cables from the soundcard and about which speaker outputs to use.

I will buy Sinus Live Bass Pump III 8 Ohm shakers and use chassis mode.

A instruction or a link to one would be appricated.

I guess that once I bougth SimVibe thre are a lot of information on their forums but I have no access yet

Correct, I need to use chassis mode because it allows for the use of one transducer, per the Simvibe instructions. For whatever reason, even before I get into Simvibe, I cannot configure my Gamer 2 for quadrophonic sound via the onboard. When I try to test it, nothing happens.

I don't think you want chassis mode for just one transducer - you can't simulate all of the various outputs for chassis mode. With extensions mode you can use up to three transducers - seat, pedals, or shifter. You can pick/assign any of these to your single transducer. I have one transducer on my pedals, another on my seat, I turn off the shifter output.

If you follow the Inside Sim Racing video link that Insert Coin provided, Darin describes the setup using extensions mode.

SimVibe Extensions (Localized Feedback)
SimVibe Extensions allow for localized transducer placement. This mode of operation is not multi-dimensional but may be suitable for some simulator designs or as an addition to SimVibe chassis.
Placement options include:
 Seat
 Pedals
 Shifter
An optimal configuration for this mode will require a 5.1 sound card, three bass transducers and a three channel amplifier. It is however possible to utilize only 1 channel such as seat and simply place a single bass transducer beneath the seat.

Yeah, I guess it was extensions mode that I tried. It was whatever mode that the instructions and Darin's video recommended for one transducer.

I have been struggling with getting my simvibe working on my new sim. I can't get any reaction from any of my shakers on windows test. I have 2 aura ast bass shakers, 2 buttkickers, 2 daytona mini shakers, and 1 clark synthisis bass shaker. I have one xonar sound card, sound blaster, and audio diamond. The extensions mode goes through a 4 channel daytona audio sa100 amp, chasis mode through 2 buttkicker amp and the other 2 in another daytona audio sa100 amp. I am not sure if the amps are plugged into the sound cards correctly. I tried the sound voloume option and I never heard a sound moving the slider. I've been beating my head against this for a while and ready to toss it out a window, if anyone has any suggestions how to fix this that would be great.

Did you right click the speaker icon in the taskbar, select playback devices, then check the individual cards to see that they are enabled yet? my advice from your other thread had nothing to do with volume sliders, so you may be looking at the wrong stuff.

Have you tested out different jacks on the sound card?
Regular audio will come out all of the jacks but the simvibe will only use specific jacks, try the green jacks.
