Is it really that difficult? I haven't gone down that rabbit hole yet. I'd really to get motion happening for Next Car Game at some point. If it's available at all, it's more likely going to be through X-Sim though.

It is for me. Apparently I'm an idiot. All I even want, too, is for data to a single bass shaker. And I'd settle for just AC at this point. I tried months ago to get it to work. And I tried again this weekend. I followed all the directions (somebody posted a good link for shakers). Set all the math. Can get the shaker working in test mode perfectly. I can launch racing games through the extractor just fine, running in windows mode (which is pretty much a requirement unless the software is running on a second computer), I minimize out (while I'm on the track), and then try starting the converter program. And the converter program tells me I can't start it because a game has to be launched via the extractor program first. Which I do. It's running. Game is running. I'm on the track. Bleh.

If Rift DK2 blows my mind, I'll probably cave and buy Simevibe, but I'm just too stubborn at the moment to pay 90 dollars to power a single shaker. It doesn't sit right with me. But I just can't for the life of me figure out why X-Sim rejects my love. I just wanna be BFF.

Simple solution.... Buy more shakers!!

I'm sure that when I try and set it up I'll reach all new levels of idiot. It's just that SimX are very picky it seems with what they will support, so with some games it's the only option. Even some serious sim fodder like Richard Burns isn't supported.

Hello again guys, my issue is that when I auto search no games are discovered. Any help is much appreciated.
I have Dirt 3 and Assetto Corsa both on Steam

My simvibe wont launch rfactor2. It just keeps telling me game isn't installed no matter what I do. I have deleted and auto discovered a dozen times now over the past couple days. It use to work fine, so not sure what happened.

Only games installed in the recommended locations will be found. If you install them somewhere else you need to select that location from the drop down list.

Could you tell me then where their supposed to be installed? There is no information that I can find about where game should be installed to work with simvibe.
My games are in my C drive in the steam folder, and I've been selecting the the steam plugin in the drop down menu for the appropriate game and the software tells me the game isn't installed.
It's really frustrating as this is my last day off work and I haven't been able to get it going at all.
I contacted CS but that's very slow because of the time difference

EDIT
I have found the correct path to lunch the games, but now I've no effects in game lol

Mark,

You just picked two games with the worst simvibe support at the moment :dopey:

Dirt3 : has no engine / rpm effects (and will never have, unless CM plan to patch the game)
Asetto Corsa : Only has engine / rpm effects (all other effects do not work correctly since the last couple of updates)

Have you seen the simvibe setup guide from insidesimracing

See if you have effects listed in the " Output mix" tab and if they are accidently turned off

The effects are turned on mate lol Yeah I've watched that guide.
I had two asus sound cards installed and have now removed one as that could of been causing an issue. I have yet to try again sense though.
What games would you suggest Henk?

Mark

if you're a serious simracer:

-rFactor2
-Iracing
-Pcars (beta is still closed)
-Gamestock Car 2013

If you are more into simcade:

-F1 2013
-Grid Autosport ( I really love this game )
-Dirt 2 (has alle effects and is still the best Dirt game available with the best FFB)

Free to play

Raceroom racing experience

Thanks mate, working on the Pcars atm and I tired to download Rfactor2 yesterday but had issues. I'll get on Rfactor and iracing asap

pCars is arguably not a serious sim depending on who you talk to.

RaceRoom Racing Experience will be getting a new FFB and physics overhaul very soon which will place it squarely in the serious sim list since right now that's arguably the only thing holding it back.

Assetto Corsa should be added to the serious sim list.

GTR 2, GT Legends, and Race07 should be added to the serious sim list too, although they're older now, they're still very good.

I have not had time to try each of these games with SimVibe yet though. but I know RaceRoom Racing Experience feels great with it.

I couldn't get rFactor 2 build 770 to launch from SimVibe either last week. I don't know if its because of the new 64 bit build though. Ran out of time and didn't get a chance to try the 32 bit build.

Well I have figured out how to get simvibe to launch rfactor2, (using dropdown menu, thanks for posting info) but when I start a race I get vibes for a split second and then simvibe completely closes it self out, and will freeze the game for a second or two. I recently completely reinstalled rfactor2, but I didn't change anything about how or where the files go, so it should all be good, but having to select rfactor2 from the dropdown menu every time I want to launch it tells me something has gone wrong somewhere. :banghead:

It doesn't really matter where you install your games as you can tell SimVibe where the games are if they are not discovered. SimVibe discovered only 2 of my 7 racing games (discovered F1 2013 and Dirt3, I manually setup AC, pCARS, R3E/DTM, Race07, Game Stock Car Extreme). Very good SimVibe effects in pCARS, R3E/DTM and GSCE, AC was better before recent updates but now only supports Engine and Gear Change.

Hey @Blkout, what about pCARS prevents it from a "serious sim" classification? Feature wise, it has most every feature a sim requires and then some. As far has FFB, physics, and overall feel it is hit and miss but improving every day. It's not my favorite at this time by a long shot but if it all comes together it will be a powerhouse sim. With that said, no one sim pleases everyone.

Sorry, back on topic.

Your money would be well spent on Game Stock Car Extreme. I didn't give it a chance for a long time as it seemed old technology but boy was I missing out. The FFB and AI are some of the best in the business, sounds great, and graphically does very well. My $.02
I know I keep saying this, but Game Stock Car Extreme is probably the most over looked sim in sim racing. The guys at Reiza Studio really got their act together when comes to the Gmotor from ISI. As Fuzzy says it just does everything very well. Not the prettiest girl at the dance, but she will dance with everyone.

Thanks... I have been beating my head against the wall for 2 days now. I did get the not launching issue figured out anyway.

Like I said, just depends on who you talk to about pCARS. I don't own the WDM so I can't say. I just read very mixed reports. It seems to come back to physics and FFB though for the most part. If you'll notice, R3E often gets taken out of the serious sim list for this same reasons which is why I said with the upcoming update to R3E's physics and FFB, it should place it squarely in the serious sim list so the same logic should apply to pCARS if they can can sort out those issues too.

I signed up for Iracing and simvibe worked straight away. At least I know I connected everything right
Plus 3 months for $5 was hard to turn down. Took a while to figure out the graphics settings, but all in all pretty pleased with it and simvibe.
Thanks for the help guys!

I know the feeling Mark, :) You must have jumped out of your seat from hapiness

Finally you got it working. No all you have to do is spend some time tuning the settings for every sim / car

Just FYI pCARS will be getting a FFB system overhaul that should equalize the feel between wheels and remove some issues that come with brushed DC motors that come with most wheels, and probably will be able to address wheel brand specific quirks better as well.
With that, as Physics and Feedback are closely related, the reports about pCARS might improve as well in the same manner as you expect it will with R3E.
