rFactor2 & simvibe : NOT WORKING ANY MORE since the updates of simvibe and rfactor

Do you have the latest SimCommander update? I got the notification for the update yesterday when I launched SimCommander and it stated that the update was for rFactor 2 and build 798 and above.

I have noticed that if running rFactor via SimVibe the game doesn't use xPadder in which I have mapped the gears from my TH8RS shifter, but if you start rFactor directly it works fine.

Anyone that have a solution?

SOLVED: Run xpadder as Admin

I just impulsively bought a used home theatre subwoofer for cheap that I'm going to strip and try to use the amp out of, then I thought I may as well find a sound card so I can run SimVibe, so I bought a little Sound Blaster 7.1 PCI card for about 13 bucks (made sure I could get drivers for it for Windows 8.1 first). Then I obviously needed a shaker so I found a place that sells the mini-LFE in Australia so I bought that too. I really need to stay off eBay.

Anyway, I intend on running just the one shaker, does anyone here use SimVibe with one shaker? I'm really looking forward to trying this out, never experienced shakers before and I'm hoping it adds a whole new level of immersion

I started using shakers with just one. Place it under the seat. So much fun, it really adds up to the experience. I don't want to race without anymore. But now I have three shakers: seat, shifter and pedals. You have been warned ;).

Isolate the seat + shaker from the floor if you can: it shakes are transferred better and it makes less noise.

Please check the Ohms value of your amp and the shaker: you can connect an 8 Ohm shaker to a 4 Ohm amp, but you cannot connect a 4 Ohm shaker to an 8 Ohm amp. 4 on 4 is OK of course.

Yeah, the shaker is 4 Ohm and the subwoofer amp is 6 Ohm, but it was cheap so if it gets hot and can't handle it then I'll get a better amp but I thought it was worth a shot, I don't think I'll want it shaking too hard, so the volume will be low.

Has anyone got simvibe working with Assetto Corsa?
I'm also interested in finding out if anyone has tried this - last I heard was that only a couple of effects were working, and then I think I read later (although I cant find anything to back this up) that an update of Assetto Corsa stopped it working altogether.

I've also read a post made by a Kunos developer that any third party will be able to easily write extensions for Assetto Corsa to enable these features as there is no copyright worries with Assetto Corsa compared to NetKar Pro. It leaves me wondering when this is going to happen..

I'm about to buy SimVibe and spend most of my time on Assetto Corsa so it would be great if it was fully supported.

Thanks Henk, I can't get any effects.
Hopefully it will be updated then.
I'm really loving AC, so it would be nice to use some tactile with it.

I'll take a look at that thread now 👍

Also a lot of people have reported, me included, that using simvibe with AC causes a lot of stuttering. So with only gear shifts and rpm working at the moment I tend not to use it right now. :( Hope they fix it soon because at one time it was working pretty well.

Yeah I noticed that too.
It's a real shame as I've built a new rig and bought a pc for simvibe, but currently only have good compatibility with Iracing.
I have hardly used my tactile at all in the last month, to the point I'm considering selling it off.

I would wait at least untill simcommander 4 is released Mark.

What about PCARS, Rfactor 2, Gamestock car, Race room racing experience and all the codemasters games?

I hope they can make SimVibe works with rf2 64bit! For now i have to run rf2 in 32bit version and this is a big loss for me in terms of FPS and FFB!

I cant wait to get back into GT Legends. Was really liking the game, but bought simvibe and liked it so much I don't really race with games that don't support simvibe.

Tested it with rFactor2(for me rF2 is the best hard-core Sim out there) and woww. a lot of improvem3ent over SC3!
Now can some one explain to me in a simple english(my English is good, but not too good!) how does it work the telemetry base setting thing?
However. the default setting in chassic mode is very good.
Ps: the steering lock effect, how does it work?
thanks

I have a serious problem with my new SimVibe setup.

Using SC4 beta (also tried with SC3) I have some serious signal noise. It sounds almost like a cellphone interfering with any kinds of "noisy" signal ,like road texture and suspension effects. Same in all games. Pure tones are fine, like engine vibe in AC is clean and powerful, it really shakes my rig.

I have tried several soundcards. Listening to the SimVibe signal in a headset one can clearly hear the pops and distortion, so it's definetly coming from the software, it's not my hardware. Music and other material plays distortion free on my transducers.

My Google skills have failed me, I haven't found a single reference to a problem like this, it's all been related to mechanical or electrical issues. Anyone have a clue where I can start looking?

Here's a short video:

Sounds like they are clipping - pushing them past their capability. I would start with only adding one effect at a time and testing as too many effects make it hard to determine were a problem may lie.
Some transducers are also more noisy than others but that is usually what sounds more like a hum. Ideally a good transducer will provide a vibration without any extraneous noise.

appears to be captured Directly from game.

I have hardly used mine recently as mine makes a bloody horrible horrible noise like clipping or something if I go over bumps, is there a way of tuning that out?
