I tired every sound card in sim commander and none worked
Maybe unplug all the amps from the sound card and just start with 1 buttkicker. Might make it a bit easier to track down the problem. When you open the playback devices does it register simvibe in the graph their when you click the speaker icons in simvibe?

I will do that. I'm am not sure I know what you mean when you say graph, the pic of the f1 car with the 4 test buttons. Yes I get that. Thanks for your help

I mean the graph that has green bars when a sound is played in the "playback devices" window. Like If you right click on your sound card and click test, that graph lights up. Should also when you click a speaker in the simvibe settings.

Yeah I was trying to explain this to you as well, right click the speaker icon in the taskbar it will open a menu, select playback devices, it will look like this:
Playback+Devices+2.jpg

That is where you enable the sound cards

Oh okay I know what you mean now, yes the green bar moves when I hit test but no vibration is made.

Then simvibe and your sound card are talking to each other. So its an issue between the outputs on the card and the amps or the connection between the amps and the kickers. Have you tried connecting the amps to sound to test them to see if they will vibrate?

I just want to go over how this is wired in case I made a mistake. The speaker cable goes into the shaker, one in red and one in black, it goes into the amp one into the red and one in the black and then a rca cable one in the red and one in the white input and then plugs into one port on the sound card.

If its the amp is from the gamer2 it only has 1 input in the other is an output, but yes that sounds like its wired correct to me.

I do appreaite all your help, I was wondering if you have any last ideas on how I can fix this.
Are you sure your using extension mode with 1 hooked up and clicking the speaker for extension mode? Extension mode doesn't have a picture of a car, its just a list with the 3 options.

Have you made a profile (Output Mixer) for the games you use? this is where you set the parameters for the seat, shifter, and pedals, or the four corners of your rig. These come as blank profiles so you do need to set them up for each game, otherwise you'll get nothing.

Like fatkrakr said check to make sure you're using the correct mode (extension or chassis)

Okay this is my fualt for not answering the right questions. Yes extension mode and chassis mode is checked in the options. I have never used bass shakers before. I tried running a buttkicker alone and through onboard and I couldn't figure out how to make it work, maybe I need to start their.

I thought your sound cards were working with audio already, anyway if its not then definitely start with getting the sound cards working.

Have you tried using different output jacks on the sound cards? i thought you said you were using the black (rear), you might want to try the green (front) or the other jacks.

What shows up on this menu for your cards? when they're activated they should say enabled.

You can also select your card and edit its properties here (quadraphonic, 5.1, and other stuff)

What I said was normal speakers work fine but I've never gotten any response out of any of the shakers, and I said onboard audio not a sound card.

yes all the drivers are installed and working, the sound window is all normal. I tried them in all the jacks, and tried a test on all modes, stero, quad,5.1, and 7.1 nothing. Their are no drivers conflicts, and my normal surround sound speakers and headphones work fine. sorry for the missunderstanding

oh wow what a missunderstanding on my part. I feel so stupid. I totaly failed to understand how this program works. I got it all plugged in and opened the mixer on the game and finaly started to understand how this program works. I do have some questions. I don't know how to set up the different modes. I also know a setting is set wrong because I still can't get any response from the shakers. I am sorry again.

If you haven't already, watch the ISRTV video on simvibe setup, it goes over the basic setup. I'm still not totally following what your issue is but if you can familiarize yourself with the program a bit it would likely help you to describe the issue.
The output mixer and sim device manager sections are important areas to figure out, and the game you setup needs a plugin selected from the "Game" section.

The video really is helpful. Wish it was available when I purchased simvibe. Would of saved me a few days of fumbling around trying to figure out how it worked.

okay thanks to the both of us
Oh the fun has just begun. Once you get them shaking, you got to get them shaking in tune, but that's a whole other topic. When you get it working though it will be well worth all the effort. Hell Im still learning and tweaking mine all the time and have had it almost a year now.

Very surprised when I turned my rig on tonight and when launching SimVibe it went through the setup wizard again so I'm back to basics and I assume I must start again. Has this happened to anyone else?

:nervous: That would suck. Now I am scared to try.

SimCommander 4 is coming soon, its version 3 now. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

EDIT nevermind its coming in September

Quick question, I've setup my sound card and I'm getting a test signal, but no effects. I think the game needs installed in it's default location, as I've my Dirt 3 on steam I'm not sure what to do next?
Also no Assetto Corsa support?

@Carson79 AC has motion support, so I would assume Simvibe is also supported. Can't remember the exact terms, but there's an auto search type function under maybe advanced settings or something in Sim Commander. It should auto find anything compatible.
