Last night's group 2 race was fun, if a 'little' manic. We had it all; a few disconnects, poor drivers in faster cars mixing it up with us, accidents, some disputes (!) and some decent racing! Private rooms are much needed, especially for such events! As it is, even with our group being well organised, something always crops up! I still had fun though!

I wish all the other groups the best of luck with their races! Thanks to Jack for being race admin for our races.

Both races were quite interesting and as always, very clean...I wish I could keep up with you Gadbury on 2nd race, but a couple of mistakes make it really hard to catch up...

Nice racing with The Grim Reaper and Neil as well...

Good luck everyone

Calling for Lotrzyna...

Surprise!! We are grouped up again...hehe.. :D

PM here or on PSN & we'll set this up for a go...

Cheers

What sort of laptimes people achieving with the BMW at Suz on S3s?

All the best
Maz

My best was a 2'18.795, but I can average on a good day low 2'19s - and that is on S3s. I found S3s all round to be quickest for me.

Those seem like excellent times, especially the 2'18.795. I've managed a 2'19.5xx as a best so far.

Were you using the DC tune or your own tune?

All the best
Maz

Exactly to the DC tune but with slightly more weight and about +7 HP, although it doesn't make much difference tbh. I've only ever had the one sub 2'19. The rest 2'19.1, 2'19.2 etc.

I know Jack has hit times in to the 2'18s.

With DC's tune Ive hit 17's I think? 18's can be consistant aswell. I might take the Tii out on track tonight and Ill post up what times I hit later

I can average mid 18's with it. Quite trickey getting the power down for me though so mistakes are often there resulting in 19's etc.

P.s. Synwraith, reply to my PM's with dates good for you etc. I'd like to know soon as so I can plan my social life around my gaming life ;)

Jack, after I heard now about SteveO1965, it seems he won't be available for this round, so how do we progress with our group?

Edit: Just saw, next update will be already next thursday, 29th, so he pretty sure won't be back till then....

As Belifant said there is an online event update on thursday.

All remaining groups; Please try 100% to get your group complete by thursday so we dont have to re-thinking on what the update throws up.

As for SteveO I guess your group will have to wait to race with him.

Yeah thanks RPM thats ok and Ill be there. Sorry I didnt reply to your PM have been busy.

Group 3 have been suspended due to a current situation. Please dont ask why. This group will be PM'ed.

Should still be good for tonight mate, and finally got into the 2'18s :D

Finally feel like I'm getting back into a swing again.

EDIT: Shall we also agree that if we are the only 4 cars on track we shouldn't wait and just go for it at the light? I've done a few practice races at various times of day throughout the last few days and the grids have been absolutely tiny.

All the best
Maz

Dang that makes it look like I was way off. But it was an extremely good first race, I thoroughly enjoyed this just as much as the Audi TT event 👍 Excellent organisation and thank you to GTP_RPM for taking hold of the race times etc this time.

After everything I managed a 2'18.771 in free air and I've saved the replay for anyone who wants to view it if they have an upcoming race.

All the best
Maz

Cheers Synwraith, Wanna B, Jack and timeattack07gt.

I did the best I could with the organising, I guess some arn't just as keen as we are!

See you in round 5 :)

I'd love to have seen your race guys - damn PD, can we have online races added to Prologue, please? :)

Here's a quick video I took yesterday when I was doing some hotlaps. Laptime was 2'17.807. I used the DC tune with camber changed to 2.0/1.6 and then the brakes set to 5/6 with longer gears (more so 2nd and 3rd gear). 👍 Split times btw were S1-1'00.160 S2-1'51.130

If you watch the video make sure to turn on the High Quality setting in Youtube (lower right hand corner)...the pixilation is pretty horrid in normal quality :yuck:

That's a great lap mate 👍 I was really worried that my lack of recent racing would mean I was totally off the pace, but I was extremely happy to get into the 2'18s by Sunday after less than 2 hours practice in total. Also that was with the absolute bare minimum of changing DC's tune.

What I found was that my time away from GT5P didn't affect my speed as much as my consistency. I reckon more hours would have seen me a little faster (I was actually very pleased with my pace in the end), but the real problem for me yesterday was lack of race practice. In the second race I made so many incredibly bad unforced errors and just completely lost touch with you and RPM from lap 1.

I know you guys reckon my weight/power was contributing, but even so I was managing 1'00.6xx T1 and a 1'51.9 T2. The problem was, I was never doing it consistently.

You can be as fast as you like, but if you can't string together 5 faultless laps, you're not gonna win squat.

It was a great experience though, I hope for stage 5 I don't have to compete with you two again, I want my mojo back first

Great stuff, this is a great championship 👍

All the best
Maz

Thanks for the kind words Maz 👍 I'm sure with a little more practice and changes to your setup you surely would have given RPM and myself a hard time. I was rather disappointed with my performance yesterday, but hey who cares, I advanced so I shouldn't be complaining. I started practicing on Friday and was already running consistent low 18's in practice by Saturday. By the time Sunday came around I woke up half baked after a hard night of partying and my performance and consistency obviously suffered. Luckily it didn't matter though. :dopey: It was just rather frustrating to put in such a lack luster performance and get passed by RPM on the last straight, thanks to so many uncalled for mistakes :yuck:. I still had a good time though 👍

I agree, I really hope our group doesn't meet again for stage 5. I'm Looking forward to Stage 5...hopefully it's a good one. I really wish to see the beastly 750 cars back at Suzuka :sly: It's been ages since I've taken a PP750 car for a spin...rather sad how PD has been giving us so many low PP combos of late :indiff:

Hello all, sorry for being unavailable - unfortunately I have a lot on my head lately, please set up a racing day/time between flying sti and some of the stewards and let me know via PS3 PM and I will try to show up - sorry for any inconvenience.

Hi Lotrzyna,

i was wondering where you were, i was gonna pm Jack about you being M.I.A. lol
I'm good for anytime from 4:30 pm EST (-5 GMT) til 10:30 pm EST tomorrow and the weekend, anytime after 10:00 AM EST.... BUT, supposedly there's an online update 01/29/009, so it'll have to be tonight (not likely) or tomorrow...

More importantly take care of yourself and don't worry about this, I'll let you know via PS3 whats going down.

Subie-Dude // Flyin' STi

Events got changed :( we would have to race on Daytona road or pass Flying sti to next round cos I was the one who caused the delay.

Hey hey, what's in plan for the next round Jack??!! You gotta bring some crazy events like the time trial on London (damn, that was hard) lol
May I suggest...Daytona Road, 550pp, N2/N3 tires?? I'm still waiting for a low traction race here, lol, I'm just kidding around

But talking seriously, please, no time trials, I like to go into the track with other people.
