I suggest you Lobanaro guys elect a team captain and organize a group PM so you can discuss strategy amongst yourselves (and the type of lube you'll be needing on race night ). PM's are capped at a maximum of 10, so maybe one of you that has a Premium GTP membership can create the PM so you can invite all 12+.

Bowler was able to create ours. Lots of motivational pics and vids have already been shared. Queen's We Are The Champions is on deck :D

Steve - I'm headed to the postoffice after work to ship you Sport.

Really?? You guys need motivational pics and vids ?? Afraid your pride may be hurt??

And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face.
We here in the lounge have no doubt you have tasted sand, just hope it's not the sand by the palm tree outback.

Strategy ? Show up. Have fun.

This is still up in the air. I can either make the decision on which cars/tracks we use, or we can decide as a group. Either one is fine by me.

Would you guys rather race 4 different tracks or use 2 of the same for each game? Like Fuji and Catalunya for example. It might be fun to use them both all night and see the difference both have in each game. It would also reduce the time of having to practice 4 seperate tracks.

So what would you guys like to do? Do I pick the cars/tracks? Does SNAIL pick the PCars combos and Lobanaro pick the Spurt combos? Do we use 4 different tracks that are all available in each game or run with 2 all night?

And as far as cars go, I'm thinking one street car and one race car. Something that isnt too difficult to drive and that will be a good candidate for close racing. The Ginetta that we used last week comes to mind.

I also think we should run with fuel and tire wear off for this first event. The new PCar guys are going to have a hard enough time as it is. Throwing in pitstops is just going to make it even more difficult. Even I still have pit issues. That way we can just concentrate on racing and your performance wont be affected by any outside influence because PBugs decided to give you @yogi bear 's pit crew

And to really even things up, maybe we force stock setups. That way no one has a clear cut advantage no matter which game were using. It all comes down to the driver.
Bearing in mind that I have been racing both SNAIL and Lobanaro, here are my thoughts . . .
TRACK: I prefer 2 tracks that all can compare the 2 sims to each other.
CARS: One street car and one race car sounds fine. Best if they are equivalent in both sims.
Car and track could be executive decision - everyone trusts @Rednose58 Now, if you can just get him off the beach and back to Canada!

SETUP: It’s been mentioned that PC2 doesn’t have a ‘tuning prohibited’ setting. We’ll have to collectively develop and share a setup (each team).
PITSTOP; FUEL; TIRES: Keep it simple none; off; off.

I appreciate the invite but I do not own GT Sport anymore. I refuse to spend another dime on that game. If someone wants to send me a free copy then I'll participate if I'm needed. Money isnt an issue for me buying it.....just my morals. Best of luck to everyone involved. Sounds like this could be a lot of fun.

Do we know the combos yet?

I'm still trying to figure out the fairest/most simple way to do this.

How about SNAIL comes up with the 2 cars we'll race in PCars.

Lobanaro picks the 2 cars we race in Spurt.

Tracks?

These are found in both games.

  • Catalunya
  • Bathurst
  • Brands Hatch GP & Indy
  • Fuji
  • Monza
  • Nurburgring
  • Red Bull Ring
  • Willowsprings
Looking at that list I think we'd have the most fun at Catalunya and Nurburgring GP. But thats just me.

2 20 minute races in each game using the same 2 tracks.

Again this is all up for discussion. Fire away with ideas or suggestions. The sooner we get the combos announced the sooner we can start practicing.

I thought you were buying it when you came down to the States eh?

What about kajiji or ebay? No sense in buying it new for that price

I would love to partake but don’t think I can get my wheel to feel right enough to be comfortable racing on that game PC1 nearly destroyed my T300 due to the FFB set to 100% default- that has kept me away from racing on Monday’s - I have an extremely limited budget and can’t afford risking the already crippled wheel I have

I think you made a mistake, I am clearly a D3 driver.

I don’t find Catalunya to be a good track for passing. I think Fuji and Nurb GP could make for some good racing. But this is just my humble opinion of course. For cars my though is GT3 and GT4 cars that have similar or exact examples in each game. I’d rule out street cars especially ones with long shift times #shiftergate. We don’t need to expose Gran Turismo’s glaring F up to the PCars guys, we need to make it look good, lol.

I agree we should pick tracks from the the list of eight above.

Would like to see one race car and one street car.

Default set up in Sport. Full tuning PC2. Will gladly share tunes and tuning ideas. @Rednose58 has vast knowledge of tuning in PC2.

Raced with some good guys from Sport last week and learned a lot. The biggest item I learned (actually forgot) was in SNAIL you have tire restriction based upon model of car. Suggest we put together a pool of cars to choose from for race night along with tires to be used in Sport. Therefore we will not be practicing with soft tires only to find out we will be using hard tires.

How to choose track and cars? take a vote, once we have cars to choose from, majority rules. Some of the cars in both games,
84 Ferrari GTO
67 Ferrari 330P6
17 Acura NSX
17 Honda NSX
Xbow R
16 Porsche GT3 RS
Toyota GT86

Need to build on this list. I do not the differences per car per year. I know some of you know the smallest differences between each year model.

I don't think it's all that important for the cars to be in both games. They are going to feel different between games and the difference between tuning and non-tuning so I don't see it as being as important as the tracks.

My vote is for Catalunya and Nürburgring in both games, and one street car and a race car. We could determine car by vote?

The option for all cars works for me. This will allow the Sport guys to enjoy some old school cars. Just need to narrow down the field to 5 or 10 cars so each side can practice and get a feel for the different cars.

Catalunya and Nurb GP get my top two votes. Brands Hatch GP and Fuji are next.

I'll come up with a google doc to vote on 2 tracks. Whichever has the 2 most votes will be where we race. In case of a tie, the track that was voted on first breaks the tie. I'll keep the voting up for a good 48hrs to allow everyone a chance to vote.

Will work on doing that google how to do that later today.

As for cars @SGETI , you guys can come up with your own pool to test out. This is where a group PM comes into play. If none of you guys have a premium membership, reach out to someone that does and maybe they can create the PM for you and invite the uncapped amount of people to it.

I think itd be cool to use the same cars in both games, but @JLBowler brings up a good point. Since we'll be tuning in PCars the cars wont really be the same anymore.

Id put a vote up to see what everyone wants to run as far as car class, but I have a feeling already the majority will want 1 race car and 1 street car. So lets just go with that.

New Car Selection Process:
GT Sport:
SNAIL
chooses 1 sports car/1 race car

PCars2:
Lobanaro
chooses 1 sports car/1 race car

Tire compounds will be made clear once each team makes their selections.

Simple as that. The sooner we pick our cars, the sooner we can start practicing. So talk amongst yourselves about what you guys want to race in. But first we need to pick tracks. Read below

Ok screw the google doc. Bowler suggested we use GTP's voting feature which is a lot easier. The poll is live at the top of the page.

Pick the 2 tracks you would like to race at.

You cant change your vote
The votes are hidden
VOTING CLOSES IN 3 DAYS

If you arent signed up below, dont vote. If you wish to sign up and are an active driver in SNAIL/Lobanaro simply post a reply here and I'll give you the greenlight.

@knuklefunk thanks for your interest. Are you a member of Lobanaro lounge? This event is geared towards a battle of leagues and the people that are a part of them.

I also am in favor of having tyre wear on in GTS.

In fact, if it were up to me I'd have tuning left on in GTS as well, but I can understand why it's off.

I don't have PC2 it's 79.99 in Canada and I haven't found a good deal on it anywhere. Not purchasing at that price.
Actually, just today I saw pCARS 2 Deluxe Edition on a 50% Discount on the PSN Store.. I'd love to give you a price figure but Sony doesn't like to give you that information when you own the game .

I would snag this as you're getting everything and, being that the game's hardly ever on sale and, along with a decent sized discount, this is a no-brainer.
I would love to partake but don’t think I can get my wheel to feel right enough to be comfortable racing on that game PC1 nearly destroyed my T300 due to the FFB set to 100% default- that has kept me away from racing on Monday’s - I have an extremely limited budget and can’t afford risking the already crippled wheel I have
pCARS 2 is an amazing program on PS4 mate. Why don't you just make sure to set your FFB at very low setting at first and work your way up?

I totally agree with you on the tracks Whitey and I can agree with you on what some Transmissions are like on some of the Street Cars in GTS. However, some of the Street Cars in pCARS 2 seem to have some of their own issues as well so it may even things out .

If it were a vote, my vote would be for Fuji (full) and Nurb GP for the tracks.
I agree 👍.
