Now the online is functioning could anyone please answer a question i've been asking for years. Does GT5 have leaderboards for each car like in GT5P?
If not could you please tell me what leaderboards their are?

The same reason why the PS3 firmware updates are this big. It contains all files that have been updated, also the files that remain the same. This way, say if you bough the game after 3 updates you don't need to download each update. You can just get the single one that contains all the files updates previously.

Not always, some games do require you to download all previous patches.... I know because my PS3 died a few times and reinstalling all the patches is a bit of a annoyance.

thats true...and when it happens its really annoying especially when you have a slow internet connection...
also I didnt yet suceeded in reinstalling the spec3 update of GT5 prologue...each time I get an error message, I am trying since several months...
If i remember that was a pain for a lot of people. I just had to keep trying over and over again until it finally did entirely.

I'm pretty sure some game review sources do not review patches; looks like they'll have to make an exception here otherwise GT5 will suffer in review scores (not that I care, but PD will). It's very obvious now that they were rushed into releasing this, which is not to say that quality will suffer, just that we may see many new features added in patches over the coming months, maybe years. So maybe in 5 years this game will be twice as good as it is now.
I've just accepted that this game is going to have a painful amount of patches which I will spend many hours downloading, but hey, if it adds good stuff and the size can be justified, I'm okay with that.

This software Update has screwed my Game up so far. Installed the 133MB Update, I've been playing GT5 Prior to the update of course got to Level 10 in one evening, I went to go to the Online Lobby System, Went to a race, Came out of it and went back to the GT Home Screen, For some reason it took me all the way back to the Screen where you select GT Mode, Arcade Mode etc... The Background was Black and it wouldnt let me Click where I wanted to go and just paused with the Music in the Background, I exited the Game. Then went back into it. And now it's constantly stuck on the Gran Turismo 5 Logo as you boot up the Game and wont go past it. I really hope I dont have to delete my Save Data, I'm going to Delete the Installed Game Data and re-install it to see if this fixes the Problem. If anyone receives this problem after installing this Update then I think it's because of that Patch.... I'll update shortly

We'll, IF they will make the game better, I won't complain.
IF they will stop support after christmas because everyone has bought it and then just go on to GT6, that's a whole different story.
BUT ...... let's just wait and don't jump to conclusions. Most of us (including me) aren't playing this game yet *gg*
Something like this does NOT sound too good but we'll see if other people can confirm this. Maybe the servers are slow and the game just lags because of this? ah well....

Try disconnecting your PS3 from the Internet.
It might be that GT5 is trying to connect to overloaded servers.

Yeah the Server was pretty busy when I went Online, took a couple of tries to get me in a Race Lobby, I've Deleted the Game Install and it's now Re-Installing if it happens again I'll just wait it out. That does sound about right that it's just trying to Connect to the Server.
I just faced a bug ... i was testing a car in Practice Mode - free run and using a steering wheel. Suddenly the screen went blank and time started running very fast (the HUD was still visible, but not the track or the car). Few seconds later i got a trophy "111 miles in a second". Then i had to quit the game and start it again, that's when the update popped up.

Ok for those having problem with the game now
Just play it offline it works nicely that way.
Online seems to sucks atm. So go to your profile and disconnet it on the ps3 menu, then launch the game and ignore the do you want to go online message, and game is running great again.
