Motorsports Mundial sounds familiar, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was.

Yes sir, ABC is owned by Disney so that only means ESPN are as well, haven't you ever wondered why they do so many disney ads?

Or why certain sports programming is randomly divided between ABC and ESPN.

Both "Motorsport Mundial" and "Mobil 1: The Grid" were both quality shows. The Grid even goes out of their way to cover American motorsport very well.

Yeah, I still look at "Pirates Of The Caribbean" (a Movie I like by the way) and still think "How can this be a Disney Movie?". Its still unreal to me that they own Marvel.
Pirates? No no no. Think studios that don't carry the Disney name, like Miramax. Disney owned them from 1993-2010. Pulp Fiction, Jay and Silent Bob, Scream, Scary Movie, etc.

Anyway, point is, Disney is massive. ABC/ESPN has the financial backing to do anything they want. It's why I was hoping that Speed's demise would bring about more of the online model that I love on ESPN.

It seems changes are still happening. SPEED changed from Fox Sports 1 to Speedvision. Fuel went to Fox Sports 2 and it is now back to Fuel again. It seems I'm the only one experiencing the changes. None of the other cable boxes have this issue.

Fuel Tv becomes FS2 at the same time SPEED becomes FS1

It will be official at 6am Eastern. Consider it "maintenance" until the launch. In wonder if my timers will carry over through the name change. Channel number is still the same. I know what I won't be watching Saturday night, UFC. If UFC was in such high demand, they would do more on Fox network channel and not the cable channel. Forcing UFC and soccer and college teams I could care less about will NOT get me to watch channel 150 (Dish) more. The opposite will occur!!!

It's trying to resist!

The 1 is here. Life after Speed Channel has officially begun since 7:00 AM EDT today. The red SPEED logo is gone. The red colors are gone. It is now FOX blue and silver all the way around. Also, that bottom line now has things OTHER THAN motorsports. Just now, I saw brief mentions of college football and La Liga Mexicana soccer. Things will be a lot different with Speed gone.

My Dish still lists as SPEED and with an old schedule. Right now, it is NASCAR Trucks qualifying at Michigan. But my listing says "Hard Parts: South Bronx." Before posting, I saw a preview of FOX Sports 1 programming as well as a promo for one of FS1's new shows. Don't forget the NASCAR Trucks air on FS1 later today live.

R.I.P., Speed Channel...

Unfortunately, a new channel doesn't mean new commentators.

I heard DW say "Right side drivers door".

I just saw that YouTube video (Post #228). Those are among some of the many different memories I have of Speedvision and Speed Channel. Currently watching the NASCAR Trucks at Michigan on FOX Sports 1. Racing will still live on with this channel, but it just isn't the same anymore without Speed Channel at full song.

What else is sad is that Speed Channel is now "Speed | The Motors on FOX Blog." So this is how Speed lives on- on TV as FOX Sports 1 and online as "Speed | The Motors on FOX Blog." I may have to learn from my parents the online ID and stuff so I could probably see SPEED2 material. I probably won't invest on seeing SPEED2 constantly.

The 1 is here (#The1IsHere on Twitter), but Speedvision/Speed Channel will still be sorely missed even if you agree or disagree with what both channels had to offer in their nearly total two decades on the air.

Great video, back when SPEED showed just about every kind of racing imaginable.. If only it were still like that. Canadians who still have it are stuck with tape delayed races and crappy "reality" shows while those who get FS1 and FS2 get Little League Ball and Mexican soccer.. I don't know whose worse off . I think everyone was dealt the short straw though.

I'm obviously not Canadian or from Canada, so I don't know what Canada has as far as motorsports coverage is concerned. All I know about sports programming in Canada is TSN and CBC. Are they any good in covering motorsport in Canada? I do feel sorry for you all in Canada in regards to this whole FOX Sports 1 deal. I mostly thought of TSN and CBC when I was blogging last night.

I saw most of the first NASCAR race of the FS1 era. Racing coverage will still be fairly solid. You just have to put up with the non-motorsports stuff. Probably won't be all that bad. At least... for now.

How long til people nickname the NASCAR channel

I think that's not gonna happen this time since it seems even NASCAR coverage has been severly clamped down on.

My tv guide is saying that i have FS1 and that it should be showing UFC, but Im getting ads for that stupid redneck show and for Dumbest stuff on wheels.

And now I have motocross.
