The Cobra R's running good, but I doubt it's good enough to win.

I have laid down a 7:27 in a previously modified SL65. Im kinda (read: really) disappointed at the moment.

Currently I working on a brand new build up so I get the most out of the car.

Have you tried a wing, and weight reduction? Maybe you've missed something in the car. Anyway, I put my time to rest for today: 6'53.255 in my SLR McLaren. 👍

Also, you must use S3 TIRES, not R3s.

Why don't you just win another one from the Blackpool Racers series??
Only 5 short races, and you can win with a stock powered Griffith w/Nitrous if you're good enough, just do lightweight stage 1 and you're set.

As to 92_NSX_Type_R, why don't you just get the 350Z, work it to nearly 500hp, or get a nice 300ZX that can get 800hp+.

Umm, the 300ZX should as it was Nissan's version of a supercar to compete, same as the RX7 is for Mazda, the NSX for Honda, the 3000GT for Mitsubishi and the Supra for Toyota.

I revised the setup on the Cobra R and started to run a lap. Got about half way through and had to abort. I was a good distance ahead of my ghost car though when I quit.

I won't be able to post a new time until maybe this afternoon. My new tv came yesterday so we got that set up last night. It cautions about playing video games on it right away so I opted not to hook the ps2 up. I'll have to hook it up to the old tv once that gets move to the basement.

Added FC suspension and tranny, brake controller, supercharger (so I'm not horribly behind in power) , and Stage 3 weight reduction. Minor suspension tweaking yielded a 6:52.446 with a nowhere near perfect lap. Can probably get in the 6:40-6:45 range if I drive a bit better.

Some minor suspension and tranny tweaks and I just laid down a lap of 6:50.658 in the Cobra R. It was about 90% perfect lap, so under 6:50 is definately possible with this car.

Well done guys 👍 I will do some more work today, and see what I pull out. It's more the fact that I can't make a perfect lap, at some stages (I think we all know which ones), and my car doesn't respond to flying up much...well it doesn't respond at all .

So?? Look at the Cobra R. That's not over 100k, that's not 500hp stock. Nor is the Vette for that matter, only the Viper is over 500hp.

Stuff it, I'll just grab an S7 Saleen.

It needs tcs, but I don't want to use it. I'm working it out right now. 7'00.xxx is all I'm getting out of it.

I'm using TCS, but I have to with the SLR, otherwise it spins through 4 gears...you wouldn't expect that with a 1600kg car on S3's, but oh well. Today I have managed 6'48.035, but it's still nowhere near perfect .

Heh, TCS on the SL65 might make 806hp half manageable, maybe Ill try that after I ring in the huge mass of understeer

I see I'm at a bit of a disadvantage as far as power, my Cobra R only has 649hp. I probably have atleast a 200kg advantage over the two Merc's though.

I know this car is capable of 6:45's as its setup now, not sure if I'm capable of those times though.

I wouldn't worry about me, I am still yet to break 7:20 in the SL65.

Yeah the 'Vette weighs quite a bit less.

I'll probably run a few more laps tonight when I get home. I'm going to try swapping the na stage 3 for a supercharger, give up a little hp but gain like 200ft/lbs of torque, and see if that helps.

yeah I lost the settings for the vette and had to start new. I'm still pretty fast I have it save just not the tune. It's getting fun I want to see if anybody else is getting time. just to see?
