How is the MKIV Supra not premium?! One of the most popular Japanese cars of ALL TIME, especially when at least 50% of the car has apparently already been modeled for the premium JGTC/SGT versions, PD's logic..."Oh we'll update this Alpine that no one cares about or asked for".

DID YOU SEE THE CAR LIST YET!? No? Oh of course, because you haven't yeeeet. Ahhhh you so funny SlowlyFasty (nickname). :dopey:

While I agree on the Supra, I think you'll find that plenty people care about the Alpine.

Alpine is a wonderful brand.

Does anybody know what a310 version this is (I know the pic is not from a real car)?
EDIT: Found it - Alpine A310 V6 Gr5

Looks awesome!

Did they show off a premium Supra because i must have missed it?! Oh that's right they didn't, and until they do my statement holds true.

No it doesn't. You have NOT seen the car list have you? That's what I'm telling you, so WAIT for the car list to be announced first. :dunce:

I get the 'SlowIn' part but I don't see the 'FastOut' part being accurate.

I very much agree with you on that one analog. 👍

By your logic, the only new premium cars will be the Countach and Alpine. Stop being ridiculous.

This is ridiculous, they only showed a small handful of cars out of hundreds. And promised much more information will be released at E3. You can't make "statements" until you've at least heard more information, or have seen an official car list.

So....just maybe, the continual (proposed) DLC will address the issue of "replacing" standard versions with "premiumized" version counterparts??
Maybe the first DLC could include several NEW cars + a couple of replacements, who knows. 👍
IF this continued they could possibly have enough FULL Premium cars to slot straight into GT7?
Just a thought. :scared:

My hunch is they will again have not listened to their fans, totally focusing on the physics engine and completely neglecting the gamebreakers from GT5 like dull engine sounds, uncompetitive linear AI and "standard" cars which screw up a next gen gaming experience.

If they would have focused on less cars (but all of them "premium"), realistic engine sounds and a challenging AI most of us would have been convinced they learned from their mistakes, and be enthousiastic about GT6, but from the demos and the interviews it seems it is again not the case :grumpy:

I hope i'll be proven wrong though...

I do agree with some of what you said. However,
gamebreakers from GT5 like dull engine sounds
I disagree with. Dull engine sounds are of course not good, and I would love for them to improve them. However, for me they are by no means a "gamebreaker" in my opinion. If the driving is fun, realistic, etc etc, I can easily live with less interesting and realistic sounds.

Wrong model, it would look more like this (rally version).

Or this (Group 4 version).

Your right, I must've derped out. :dunce:

This is PD tho.

They should be given a chance though. I think Kaz and PD are attempting to make a variety of cars or something, and honestly why on earth will they show a Supra and not at least different and new cars, like a certain person who doesn't seem to understand. :dunce:

Kaz promised more will be in store for E3, Gamescom and TGS. :)

800? Just for clarify.
They said that all standard cars will be in GT6 so...
1200-800=400 Premium cars in GT6 from beginning. Minus how much Premiums are in GT5 (DLC including) and we get how much new Premiums are in GT6.

Sorry if stupid or posted before...

Driving in GT is realistic and fun indeed but GT5 seems more of a driving simulator, not a racing simulator. Before i switched to Forza i just hated to always have to detune my cars in order to have a competitive race against the AI, and then still getting fustrated because they were so blind and linear also + the "chase the rabbit formula" was equally fustrating... that was the biggest gamebreaker for me.

The sounds not being a total gamebreaker yes, but some cars you just didnt wanna drive because of the horrid unrealistic sounds they had. I remember the corvette ZR-1 premiums for example not sounding right at all, and there were many more like that...

Totally stupid from PD to get it so right in certain areas, to completely screw it up in other areas which are equally as important. And the things they don't get right people have been complaining about for years now...Also the way they ported many cars straight over from a last generation console (PS2) and then adding black cardboard cutouts as interior views just to compensate was also a joke.

Anyway i'm looking forward to the reviews come Xmas (if it doesnt get delayed for a year again haha), and hope they will have improved all these areas. Still have my PS3 and would definetly buy it then :)

I honestly though that picture was from GT5 for a second, until I looked at the people in the background.

What's cool is people can make a standard car look like this now. But, standards don't bother me as long as at least 1 Ruf has a fully rendered interior as Premium.

It's correct that you questionate him, but your reasoning is not.

The question is how many standards will be in GT6. Because GT5 has about 800 of them and it got announced that GT6 will include all GT5 cars, he answered 800. It wasn't about the number of new premiums.
Now the probem is that a certain amount, we don't know the number, got converted into premiums or "premiumized". We also don't know what that term "premiumized" actually means, nor do we know wether they can still be seen as standards or not. Possibly we'll have 3 car categories then.

So the number of standards will most likely decrease, although PD could be cheeky enough to have the exact same cars as standard and premium version included.

I remember reading somewhere that the MKIV Supra was a premium car that just didn't made it "in time"... they were finishing it or something just before GT5 was launched. The same as for the Scirocco. The difference is that the Scirocco was released via DLC.

I'm pretty confident that we're going to see the MKIV Supra on GT6 in premium quality. :)

You know what has my jingle bells ringing  that the standards might get exhaust upgrade just as the premiums did in GT5. I loved that feature so much In GT5, for the fact of not only did the sound change but you could actually see your opponents upgraded exhaust during the race. If this is true for the standards I will be extremely pleased. 👍

I understand! :) minimum 400 premiums and maximum 800 standards.

Actually, I wonder why none of the several GT demo builds for PS3 have had standard cars in them? If they're as awesome as some people say then PD should make a greater effort to promote them at Silverstone, E3, Gamescom, TGS, etc. No, instead they hide them in the full game, now even without categorizing them, so people can discover them on their own and drool over the PS2 textures and missing interiors.

I'm remaining cautious about the "updated" Standards. Not only did Yamauchi imply only some will be improved, but even the official website uses flowery copy for GT5:

Many of the cars included in past Gran Turismo titles have been beautifully recreated and brought to life on PlayStation 3 as "Standard cars".

Beautifully recreated = ported straight from GT4, as any quick side-by-side comparison proves.

If I'm proven wrong, awesome, but for now, I'm really not expecting much. Certainly not Standard exteriors that are even close to on par with Premiums, which is (alarmingly) the conclusion a lot of people are coming to already, simply because PD is removing the categorization.
