Standard cars ARE in GT6. (100% confirmed)

Of course there will be std cars, they said all the cars from GT5 will be in GT6 and PD have already said it takes them ages to make premium models so there is no way they have converted all the std cars from gt5 to premium, anyway if they have they would be singing it from the rooftops not keeping quiet about it like they are at the minute.

I certainly hope there are far less standards in this game. I'm thinking they can eliminate having ALL used cars as standards. Having like 50 different variations of Miatas or Skylines, they can still be premium. I wouldn't even look at a used car in GT5 if they already had a premium version.

Perhaps (in reference to Jordan's comments about "mostly good news") is that the standards will still remain, hopefully with some touching up, but they will be fully customisable in terms of wheels, body kit, aero, and whatever the "user customisation" that was mentioned separately from the other stuff.

Otherwise, the way I see it, there was just over 200 premiums in GT5, there are about 200 more cars in this game, so that equals a minimum of 400 - give or take a few - premiums.

Compared with other games on the market, that number alone, is not actually bad at all, if you had no standards at all. So (with the right mindset) just think of all the standards as an added extra if you wanna use them!

so it's going to be "mostly good news"... maybe 500 premiums, and the rest of them "premiums" without cockpit view maybe? i hope for that.

This would be a good compromise. It annoys me to no end when it rains and the premium cars have working windshield wipers but the (sub)standard cars dont.

Let this new generation of (sub)standard cars have (sub)standard interiors, but premium exteriors

I can envision all the standards having an updated cockpit with working wipers. I can also see the black cockpits with some actual definition instead of the hollow silhouette we see now.

I still am keeping my hopes subdued, though.

There's got to be more than this...especially after almost 3 years.

I always thought a good way for PD to give alot of standard cars a true interior view through an update to GT5 would be to somehow code interiors from premium cars to display when you are driving a standard car that would have an exremely similar interior. For example have the premium 69 Camaro Z28 interior applied to the standard 69 SS, and who the hell would really notice the difference? Alot of the standard cars do have a premium equivelent, something that would be close enough to be passable.

That would be a TON of code for an update though. It would probably break the game in some way or another. Maybe not even possible without an open engine.

This is what I think we will see for GT6. 👍

The interesting thing about the interiors, is that they are in fact given detail to a fairly low degree. Perfect example (kinda blurry image sorry):

when driving in cockpit in this, or the FGT is another example, its a long way from being premium, but I can put up with low res interior detail, but just silhouette is so unattractive.

Yea thats only with cars with open cockpit. Those cars had those textures in gtpsp/ gt4.The rest of the standards interiors are ... well nothing but a silhouette.

It's not that the interior is in silhouette that bothers me. What annoys me is WHERE IS THE BODY OF THE CAR?!?! Why is it invisible? You'll notice they're not invisible in GT-PSP. Same simplified/silhouetted interior, but the effect is so much more passable because the car's body is there. Why could PSP's hardware render the bodies, but PS3 couldn't? Strange.

Personally, as long as the body is there in GT6, I'll be happy.

Remember that GT3 has only around 150-200 cars while gt4 had far more (721 last time I checked) after only a little longer in development. Gt1 had about 170ish cars in it and gt2 had well over twice that in a shorter development cycle. Odds are that it isn't THAT unlikely to have them all as "premium," still unlikely but not unrealistic.

What I've always wondered was why were the GTPSP interiors of unacceptable quality (as was implied to be the reason for them not being in GT5 at first) compared to nothing at all, but then when they decided to implement something in response to criticism they included something worse. I'd be fine with the Standard interiors if there was some sort of depth to them.

Probably has to do with the bad textures of the the standards. Like how they won't allow you to zoom in close to standards while taking photos.
PSP wasn't such a bit deal because of the small screen, but I'd think they would look awful on a big screen and they didn't want us to see that. They must have been embarrassed.

Premium exterior also means you can fit premium 3D rims to the (sub)standard cars. Thats important in terms of customization. Theres also the high and low beam issue, damage issue, and other issues when it comes to having a (sub)standard exterior. I can deal with racing from the roof on such cars, avoiding the cockpit

We heard you the first time. They're sub-par quality, yes. You don't have to repeat yourself on that every time, we know what you mean simply by saying "standards."

Also, if there are more standards than premiums, then I think they do deserve the name standards since they're the norm for the game. Even if they are sub standard quality.

I'm pretty sure those cars only had interior because they had to be visible in the first place.

Im sure if you go up close to a standard car in a replay whilst in photo mode, if you poke your head in through the window (its difficult to see due to the darker windows) but I'm sure you can see 2D low res interior detail?

Psp interiors place the camera inside the actual car model , in gt5 its placed on bumper cam with an outline..

And it worked MUCH MUCH better on PSP. Like the video I posted somewhere (just search for GTPSP cockpit), the feeling is completely different e.g. When you are in a Yellowbird you can see the iconic Porsche hood and fenders, making you feel really in the car, different than the silhouette only.

Nah.You cant even get that close to standards in photomode.

Here's my take on the standard cars in gt6, I think there still will be standard car in gt6, only they will be upgraded to premium quality. What I mean by that is take the standard cars now they have no windshield wipers, no high beams, blacked out cockpit, no hood in cockpit view, no tag lights and I think no horns. I bet the standards in gt6 will have all those things working plus the ability to put different body kits, wings, rims and i believe it will have a simplfied cockpit pit like like the prowler and caterham. so if you ask me they will be standard cars upgraded to premium specs, and hopefully on some they upgrade the detail on some of those standards. What do yall think? I would love it!

You are 100% correct. 400 cars is an incredible number to play with. I personally believe we will have 450-550 premiums and 700 "super" standards.

My guess for GT6 is 700+ standard cars, and 400+ premiums. Taking into account that a few of the 800 standards were converted to premium. If they release a PS4 version with "only" 400+ cars, that wouldn't be too bad :)

This is exactly what iam expecting, although I think by the time GT7 comes out on the PS4 that there should be around 500+ premiums and all the standards dropped.

I see people are focusing on numbers again. 400 premiums doesn't mean much and it isn't an "Incredible number" if a bulk ofthem are dupes or close to it. We've already seen that we're going to get a THIRD version of Kaz's GTR as one "New" car and it's also possible we'll have two near identical Alpines.

Obviously we've only seen a handful of new cars but i'm much more concerned what they are rather than the number.

Oh I didn't mean GT7, I meant a PS4 version of GT6 without the standard cars, as a launch title! "or launch window"...
