Standard cars in GT6?

I'd rather have all the cars premium from the exterior and just have the interior removed altogether, saves a lot of time.

I've never found driving in the interior view that useful - wish PD never bothered with it in GT5 - a lot more standards would of made premium then.

It's cool to see the interiors sometimes, but they don't really look that realistic and as I've said before they're not that useful - you can't even read the dials in some cars...

I'd prefer not seeing either premium or standards in GT6, I'd much prefer to have one consistent level of good/high detail across every single car within it. Seeing an excessive amount of detail lavished on a car I'll never use (Kubelwagon etc), when some of my daily drives have to make to with the "black box" and treatment is a pure disgrace. (Supra RZ, R8 LMS, SL600 etc)

Standard cars brought forward to GT6 - Yes
Standard detail levels - No

If the latter is a "Yes", then PD may as well send their staff home now with a map to the unemployment lines, as I can't see it shipping too well.

No, in my opinion having Bob there to help you ruins the experience of a driving simulator like the GT series...

So no, leave B-spec at GT5....
Interesting. Do you also believe that endurance races are done by one single driver? Where's the realism in having to do a 24 hour race all by yourself? ;)
Wait until I read Kaz's mind and I will tell you. Cant soome of you guys just get over it for gods sake. The standard cars werent that bad
No.

Your opinion doesn't represent everyone elses.

The last few times I played GT5, I only drove premiums. I tried to overlook the fact standards were in GT5 when it first came out, but I can't tolerate them anymore. If they're in GT6, automatic no-buy. Period. I'm not going to reward laziness.

Whether or not Im for standard cars depends on car count. If there are 500 premium cars I'm fine with there being no standards. However with 400 or less premium models I'd like the standards to return.

[/QUOTE]The answer is quite obvious. Let's say that there are roughly 1200 cars announced in GT6 with a development cycle of one year from formal announcement(TGS for the sake of argument), AND with a team already developing a Vita version of the game.

Assuming that GT5, GT6 and GTVita(hypothetically speaking) share the same resources(like GT4, GTPSP and GT5 ultimately did with each other), do you think that with the development time that I have set forth for a PS3 release(that is an entirely different subject), that they would have time to convert all of the standards to premiums? Either somebody needs to be in the nut ward, or they would ultimately delay it until the PS4 comes out.

Be real here. There will be Standard cars because the resources available to PD wouldn't allow for full conversion. Unless you are willing to be satisfied with a game with 200-400 cars. That would in no way shape or form compete with T10 and MS.

I think they could fix it by dropping some of the stupid standard cars they have pop up, that nobody ever uses or has a use for, And then there would be more space to put new, premium cars and have them also rotating through the ucd, that's what I'd like to see.
And for them to bring some of the standards up to premium atleast on the outside, even without looking at the interior views.

the best most tedious way of doing this is a 1000 car poll...... pick which cars you like eliminate the rest lol

OR

Do a GT5 update with a patch to see what cars people have in there garage, and mileage they have in it.

I like the second idea! They would feel stupid for putting some of they cars they did in!

Better having standards than nothing...
Yes and no.

Yes, in that it provides more car options on the cheap, so to speak, but no, visually and conceptually it's a stain. GT3 and GT5P were just fine with low car counts, GT5 would have been ok as well.

Also, if GT5 Premiums can be ported/upgraded to GT6 (as Kaz suggested), with the addition of new cars, standards won't be needed in GT6.

Most of the cars I drive in GT are premiums, however there are a good amount of standards that I do drive. Cars like the Toyota GT One, other lm cars and other popular standards deserve to be upgraded to premium. All the duplicates and useless cars in the game I feel should be left out to allow room for more improvement.

This. I was sad when I first played GT3 and noticed the huge number of cars that didn't make the cut from GT2. I can see PD dropping fictional cars like their "LM Race Cars", less popular cars like the Cizeta V16, and outdated cars from Super Gt/JGTC or DTM . I'd rather have some cars in between standard and premium quality than lose them all together.

Standard = no buy. As simple as that.

Coming from a loyal fan of the series. Don´t make the same mistake twice.

absolutely no standard cars in GT6!!! it would be crazy!

you are crazy? cockpit view is the best and more realistic view!

Raggadish
GT6 (PS3) = standards
GT6 (PS4) = no standards

As it should be.

Im going to disagree on that one.

Regardless of the system there is no place for standards.

I dont see the problem with standard cars...

The ones that should be made premium, well, do it!

Others that arent worth it, might as well keep them anyways.

They shouldnt take cars away from the game. If you have them, shoe them in too.

It's the fact that Standard cars were made for a game two iterations prior to the one it's being put into. They would look extremely out of place. It's decent enough in GT5, it'd be terrible in GT6. Another problem with them is that they're nothing more than a marketing tool to get players to buy GT games with its "OMG 1000 cars" malarkey.

If the trend holds, you must realize that some car manufacturers may not allow PD to damage the cars that already exist. That is why Standards, if PD wish to maintain a high car count, MUST return.

If GT6 ends up being on the PS3, I guess it would be near impossible to convert 800 something cars to get the premium treatment. Here's to hoping they leave all the duplicates, and all the little ugly hatchbacks like the Ford Kas standard.

True so Gt6 will most likely be on the ps4

There will probably be something better than standards, something that's almost premium, but not completely premium, and the full on premium cars. Some manufacturers have strict rules with how their cars are used in game, I'm guessing.

emula

In cockpit view I can't even read the dials, and as a DS3 user I really see no point in it. I use the exterior view or the bumper cam. Sometimes I do use the interior view but it doesn't really help for visibility and after a while it really isn't all that great.

If the hood view was more a hood view then I would see that as being the best view for Wheel and DS3 users, but yeah - I disagree with your opinion that it's the most realistic...seeing as though the dials aren't very clear and all the other gauges on most cars don't even work.
