Sure if you want the job you got it. Post in Parnelli Bones Online Magazine thread.

All theoretical of course we don't want to break any laws or anything. Mostly you would post odds on a race week either by driver or by car. If a driver wants to place a bet it will come out of his online money pool and I have to be informed of course to alter the finacial report. You as the house though should minimize your losses. Say you have a starting budget of 8,386 CR, when thats gone your out of business. I also need to be informed of all your payouts too.

So like a TAB then?

I guess, if you want to call it a tab. You might even dabble in outside of the Sunday Cup bets. Either way your going to have to display clear information on all betting lines and the odds for such like 6 to 1 and so on. If you get to crazy with the odds and you pay out to much, you will go broke fast. Then its likely the big blokes with the skinned knuckles will pay a visit to you, theoretically of course. Make all your posts in character as a handicapper/bookie. Up to you wether it is a more legit type or a shady character.

Can I have a list of all the cars currently competing so I can make up some odds, pretty pretty please?

The list I currently have, with stock specification is (Pwr/Wt is hp per ton);

Code:
Driver Model Year	Layout	Power	Weight	Pwr/Wt Price
======================================================================================
Jet Badger	MR2 GT-S 1997	MR	224	1270	176	13,565
skython Skyline GT-R (R32)	1991	4WD	279	1480	189	15,784
BH-21 Camaro Z28 Coupe	1997	FR	261	1561	167 8,438
Car-less	Skyline GTS-t Type-M 1989	FR	195	1260	155 8,347
GrumpEone	RX-7 GT-Limited (FC)	1985	FR	167	1280	130 5,914
Dogbreath	Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex 1983	FR	116	940	123 5,375
shotamagee	MX-5 1989	FR	108	940	115 5,949

...but some of these have been modified;
The Sprinter Trueno has racing chip, stage 1 weight and NA1 tuning.
The MX-5 has racing chip, stage 1 weight and stage1 turbo.
The RX-7 has chip, weight, exhaust, clutch, flywheel and a wing!

...and I'm sure that list will be out of date by the weekend.

I'm also unsure about skythons GT-R. I think he only had 13,301cr to spend including his winnings and sale of the civic?

You're right Car-less, my mistake, I knew something was wrong. I'm going re-car shopping

Sorry, I'm just tired, and can't think straight.

All that you seek is on page one post number one of this thread. Below the rules is a Current Information area with the season points with the cars listed and the pre-season test results. Below that is a weekly directory that will take you to each week's banner post and its information.

Skython11 though is car-less at the moment. So until he buys something, its going to be hard to calculate him or the group for that matter.

Nissan Skyline GTS-t Type-M '89

With last weeks results being midfield at best, and most others opting to spend major money on new cars and improvements, I had to up my game.

I spent nearly all of my spare cash shedding 114kg of weight and cramming another 42 horses under the hood. I also went for a dodgy looking wing to try and keep the car on the road.

- 1,200	= 799	Wing 3D Type AB[/B][/COLOR]

Result? Reasonably improved performance, but how will it stack up against your improved rides?

Here is my big purchase for the week.

Code:
Car: Chevorlet Camero Z28 Coupe '97
Parts Price
Weight Reduction: Stage 1 1,200

There's plenty of Evos, Imprezas, Legacys and 3000GTs around if you are looking for 4WD under 13k, but you won't find a GT-R under 15k - hence my choice of GTS-T.

Edit: Or perhaps you could run the Civic again as nobody else wants to buy it?

Pretty much anything that lists over 200 HP is competetive. You really can't afford to get 5 DNF just because you couldn't find a car.

If you want I can send you a pretty good list of possible purchases. There is always the '89 Nissan (Z32) at the bottom of the Historic Dealer that lists at 276 HP and is a good car to boot.

I looked at the Nissan, in fact that was the first car I wanted. But the one in the dealer is about 500 Cr out of range

Typical

The Nissan is 13,824 Cr, I have 13,301 Cr

It is that friendly thursday warning time again.

Dogbreath, GrumpEone, Jet Badger, Skython11, Shotamagee have yet to submit their times. :nervous:

OK my times are in,

I haven't added any new parts to my car this week, because I'm saving up for a new car next week, and these tracks (well except HSR) should still suit the Mx-5 pretty nicely.

I'm slightly annoyed with myself at Deep Forest because all three attempts featured me going off track at some stage. Running wide last corner last lap would have cost me time, but its more annoying because it means this is the first time (from memory) I've submitted a time which is not OLR clean.

My times should be in Friday evening. EDIT: Now pushed back to Saturday evening, due to mandatory overtime at work, or just to be suspenseful, take your pick :).

My buys:
Suspension: Sports (-3000 = 4675)
Wing: AB (-1200 = 3275)
Oil Change (-50 = 3225)
Exhaust: Semi-Racing (-2800 = 425)

My times are in.

The Sports suspension may have been a bad idea. High speed ring is definitely going to be a weakness. 135 mph :P

My times are in, and my new car is a...

Subaru Impreza WRX STi (GC) 1994

Power (Before/after oil change): 241-270HP
Weight: 1,230 KG
Engine: Boxer 4/DOHC
Displacement: 1994 cc
Drivetrain: 4WD
Mileage: 77766.0 KM
Price: 9722 Cr
Oil ChangeY/N: Y

Upgrades
Racing Flywheel: 1050Cr

Driving Notes: This car is a wack job, it is so unpredictable, under brakes it slides like a psycho, and will only stick to the road if it feels like it.

PS: Congrats BH-21, you purchased the first non Japanese car. I think

Nice, a subie! I've got a question. I kinda want to get on this, it's looks like a bucket load of fun. I see there are instances where there is a new circuit, would I be able to join at that time? Or do I have to wait until the competition is over?

I hope so, you just have to ask BH-21, and I can definitely vouch for you to join SVX.

But you'd be down on the points, and would be down the back of the pack, so it might be good to start next season, if there is one.

True. I like how this comp is a 'real world' competition, because you can sell your car to other racers.

It's invitational only, and we're 2/3rds of the way through the season so I very much doubt you can join in this season. However, I have been talking with BH-21 via PM and I'm confident that there will be another season or more after this one finishes.

The usual way to get an invite would be to join in one or more of the Top Gear Comparasons, but like Skython I'd have no problems vouching for you.

I actually did get a invitation, I just thought it could be a bit too time consuming. I think I'll join next season, just so I know what the rules are and how it works. Thanks guys.

SVX was one of the orginal 12 invitations as are a few others you all know. As Skython11 pointed out joining now would really put you at the bottom with no hope of ever advancing any, the other reason is season one is closed till its done. There are plans in the works for after this so just a few more weeks before we cross that bridge.

By the way about 25 hours left.

Skyton11
So I have to wait for ages to see where I get. I'm just going to bash my hands and feet on the floor and scream till then. :P

Thats one way to go while waiting.
