So what do I do to sell my car then?

I've got plenty of money to go shopping with, and those at the bottom of the score table could use a leg up with my S13.

Just say you want to sell it, I will convert it to cash for you to go shopping with. Then I offer your old car at the price it went for to those eligble for it in turn till either its bought by them or by an outside dealer.

Code:
Car: Nissan Silvia Q's (S13) '91
Drive Train: FR
HP: 140hp
Price: 5,673
Oil Change (Y/N): Y

Parts Price
Racing Chip 1,000
Weight Reduction: Stage 1 1,000

Cash = 1,918.25 (Round up to 1,919 CR)

GrumpEone is the current lowest season points total and will have the first chance to purchase this car, if not it passes up the roster.

Rounded up? I thought the decimals were omitted, not like it matters mine rounds up a Credit too.

I'm Buying it though. The sale of my Mirage w/ Wgt Red, Wing, R.Chip, & SP Flywheel should be 2,676 CR (rounded up). Difference +757 CR.

Just so I get one similar, how many miles, and what color. (and should I code-in the exact mileage? or just buy one close in mileage)

Just been re-reading the past few pages, and have decided that yes, I do want to sell!

I've already spoken to GrumpEone, and he is very interested in moving out of his FF Mirage, so I guess he just has to sell it too in order to find the funds to buy my old car.

It's a bit of a U-turn from what I said last week, but I figured there's no way to test how well the rules work without someone selling, and I'm best placed to do so at the moment.

Edit: Colour as per the photo's in this thread I'd guess, though maybe BH-21 will allow a complimentary respray? Mileage shouldn't matter at all, as all used cars (except 6.2 mile specials) should have the same power - at least they did when I drove over 500,000 miles studying power loss and engine wear!

If you get the original price the same it should be pretty similar, but that may not be possible for most people. As long as it isn't a 6.2 mile version, its ok. Matching color is completely up to you. You do get a one time free oil & maintenance as part of the transaction.

If you publicly accept this car now GrumpEone, you can't change your mind if something else comes along. It is also the only time you may do this during this circuit you will inelegible for any other purchase like this regardless of your season standings for all of the 3rd Circuit.

Umm, shouldn't Jet Badger have won the trophy for the Second Circuit Championship (5th Week)
Seoul Central Order 1. Jet Badger 2. Skython11 3. BH-21 4. Car-Less 5. GrumpEone 6. Dogbreath 7. Shotamagee

I mean shouldn't it be done on that round not overall points?

They already got cups for the race in Gold, Silver and Bronze. The whole point of the championship round is to have a Circuit Champion and each circuit is run by points. The 1st Circuit just happened to work out the same way the race did. Now that we are in the 3rd Circuit it will be at least 4 more weeks before another championship week.

Hmm, decisions decisions... We are finally at the point where the Mirage's Power may be useful, longer straights may outweigh the bad 2nd gear, and I already have times on Infineon & Motegi. How long do I have to make the definite decision?

I really would rather the RX-7 than the Silvia, but there is nothing saying the RX will become available... I would be dropping 35 HP for FR drivetrain and 798 CR... I really have to think this over some more...

EDIT:
Also would I have to redo my Mirage times for the two I already completed, If I change cars. Or should I wait until the end of the round's times before making the purchase since I have already started racing.

Theoretically all week, but if you don't post any times by next sunday morning you get 5 DNF. But that doesn't really give anyone else a chance if you pass on it. So how about till tuesday morning then I will offer it up the list as if you passed on it.

Technically all the races are simultaneous and Car-less hasn't driven any races yet, you would have to do them over with the new car.

You know what, based on last week's time, I finished about 1/2 second behind the silvia, and I know that Car-less is a much better driver than me, So I'm thinking the longer the courses are better for the Mirage, based on power/weight.

As much as I may regret this, I will pass on the Silvia and it's FR drive, and hope the RX-7 will come up for sale soon, or the mirage will prove some kind of worth.:nervous::scared:

I Guess your next BH-21 to make a bid for the Silvia.

Can I give my car a livery via photoshop

Sure, paint away. Maybe the rest of us could get some art for our cars too.

Dogbreath
My turn to do what? None of this makes sense to me. If the question is if I want to drive a different car for this, the answer is no.

You are being offered Car-less's Silvia for 1,919 CR with its two parts. If you want it your car will be sold and this will be your new car. If you don't want it you pass on it and it goes up the season points list to Skython11's turn.

Season one is closed, thank you for the interest.

The best way to get an invite though to any follow on season is to prove yourself to be an above board racer in the Top Gear Comparo thread at the moment which should start a new round this week.

Finally I made up my mind and decided to buy another Nissan.

Nissan Skyline GTS-t Type-M '89

I then ran a single attempt at each track with the car exactly as I got it.

This car is about 20% heavier than the Silvia I just sold, and it feels it - the first priority for next week will be to put it on a diet, even before an oil change!
Luckily it is also about 40% more powerful than the Silvia was, so I don't think my times will have suffered too much.

At 195hp and 1260 kg I'm now running at 155 hp/ton - still less than the CR-X and Mirage, and probably much of the rest of the field if you take into account their modifications, but I have a much better platform to work with than those FF's.

All five races were a little untidy as I was just getting to know my car. At Infineon I was pushed wide by a BMW 2002 resulting in the photo's above, and at Midfield I found myself unsuccessfully trying to chase down a Lotus Elise!

I might make a second attempt later in the week, or maybe I won't. You'll just have to wait and see.

This is kinda funny, no-one wants the championship leading Silvia, at this rate car-less will be able to buy it back from himself, maybe car-less's driving skills are what need to be offered to trade instead. Also if you pass on the Silvia, it means you'll get no sympathy if you complain about your current ride.

You guys realize that FR is faster than FWD right? Our cars are still pretty even now but the ability for an FR car to cope with more power is so much greater, than a FWD. That line of thinking was why I chose my car, still yet to see if it works out that way though.

Well Dogbreath doesn't seem to want it. So I guess its Skython11's turn.

Skython11 do you accept or pass on the Nissan Silvia Q's (S13) '91?

If he passes, Shotamagee its your turn next then it goes to an outside dealer, Car-less can't buy it back.

Then the Silvia is bought by an outside dealer and is out of the Sunday Cup.

Be ready guys, Car-less has horse power now. ;) Its going to be a blood and guts kind of week.

I returned to Infineon and went lineup-hunting. I eventually found one with a red RX-7, silver Mirage, mint green MX-5, and two other cars. Time for a second run.

picture.php

Starting from the back, myself and the 5th place Celica gently tapped corners in turn 2 as I went for a late apex. He and the 4th placed RX-7 were then quickly dispatched before turn 3a at the top of the hill.
I shadowed the Mirage through turn 4a before moving to the inside for turn 7a where he turned into me despite my being ahead. I then chased the MX-5 all the way to the hairpin of turn 11, neatly passing him on the exit. Pushing too hard I went wide in turn 2 but remained on the track unlike the leading Silvia who went off without any help from me. It was then a clean and event free 3/4 lap to the finish after which I buffed the scratches out of my bumper and door.

My time? 4/1000ths of a second slower than yesterday. Guess I am done for the week.

Sped up video (12.5MB) here. Does anyone actually watch these, or do I have to get a youtube account?

I haven't looked, but you might want to post these after the weeks competition so we don't know your times. Youtube would be better (that way people can publicly criticize your driving, unlikely lol) but I'll prob have a look either way.

@ Lineup hunting, lol I thought that was only used that when improving A-spec points.

EDIT: Ok I've done my times and had a look at the replay, I preferred the ones you did from wk1 with no speed up, but I'm guessing you did that to make the file a small as possible?

Ok my times are in for the week.

Parts purchased:
Stage 1 Turbo - $4500
New Power 159hp

Existing Parts:
Stage 1 Weight Reduction
Engine Chip
2 x oil changes

After all the races were done I did an oil change to check the power figure stated was correct, so I guess that $50 can be debited off my balance starting next week.

Also did anyone notice that Suzuka west didn't have tyre wear? Or was that just my GT4 being screwy, if so cool because its prob worth 1-2 seconds per lap not having to warm the tyres up.

I might do race reports later on.

Congradulations Shotamagee! You are the first driver to upgrade the engine of their car other then a racing chip. ;)

:gtpflag:

P.S. Your only the second time submitted this week so far. I charged your other oil change so I don't have to try to remember it next week, you had the money.

After getting clobbered at Seoul I had to do something and the Turbo was the best HP/$ upgrade affordable.
It was good for 3-4 seconds per lap at Infinion, so I think it was money well spent.

I went with the speedup to shorten the time spent watching the duller parts of the race. An added benefit was that the variable speed and lack of ingame clock means that you cannot tell my laptimes from watching the replay.

I'm loath to setup a youtube account as I only have the capture card on loan and might have to return it at any time. The account would then serve no purpose to me.

@ Lineup hunting, I noticed during my first run through that my new car was pitted against most of your cars, but usually only 1 per race. I then went looking for a lineup with as many as possible. Had I found Civic, CR-X, RX-7, MX-5 and Mirage all in the same race it would have been perfect for Parnelli's media thread.
