Too late for that, the Danish Bear found that mistake of mine out first. :sly:

Yes, perhaps @GTRacer22 can upload the template he used for his car, given that he said it worked just fine, if it is a different one from the OP template that is.
I'll be home in 4 hours, I'll do it then. đź‘Ť

Well the whole MACOSX thing doesn't really work, but fortunately the other folder does work. Although now I wonder what this weird look when I try to paint the body;
Caddy body.png

Is that supposed to show the parts I can't paint, or the holes the car body has in its 3D model? Also no, I'm not painting my car black, spoiler alert. :sly:

Welp, definitely commissioning my Xbox Audi scheme after being spooked by the R8 template.

Did you just paint the shadow layer? You're supposed to make a layer below all the other layers. @Niku Driver HC

Well I painted the body color layer and the color didn't change, so I thought painting a different layer was the answer. Usually I can paint one body layer and that's it...

These GT3 templates are certainly demanding, it's going to be a crash course in virtual painting all over again for me. And if tomorrow is indeed my eye surgery, then I won't be able to re learn the rules for a couple of weeks... Thank goodness the series only starts in 2017.

Try making a new layer above the body color, either that or the shading is not set to "multiply" and doesn't change because of that. Turn off the shading as well, it makes the paint all artifacty too..

Well I'm back in my PC, and I can say the first thing you mentioned doesn't quite work. I tried to add a new layer and painted that, nothing changed. I'm now looking for the shading option, but I haven't got the faintest clue about the whereabouts of said option...

It's a layer. Look for the layer that says "shading" and disable it. Your color should appear. :embarrassed:

But there is no layer with that name... I see "Shadow 1", which is then divided into three other thingamajigs; wireframe, shadow parts and shadow. If I turn the shadow sub-layer off I can see my changed body color, but I can see nothing else unless I turn the wireframe on. So I'm supposed to paint over the wireframe and then turn it off and everything will be sorta right...?

Paint under the wireframe, always paint under it. If it isn't transparent, you can change the layer it's on to multiply blending mode

Might as well sign up for this.

For once, I'm not the one having that sort of problems, it's fine on my end.

I could probably help out with yours then, if that's of interest?

I also approve of how they all (atleast the GT3 cars) seem to come not just with .X for carviewer, but a total of three different ways of seeing the 3d model in realtime. Why was this not a thing about a year ago?

Wait, these have car viewer files?

Note for the GT500 GT-R teams, we will be using the 2008 GT-R. Use the 2008 shading for the car please, thank you :D

Sorry if I'm being a bit annoying about this whole thing, but can you check this and tell me whether or not I'm painting right?

Yep, you're doing just fine! đź‘Ť

Sweet beans, good to know I managed to find the right path (no pun intended if you're seeing it from a GIMP user perspective ). Guess I can try to make the car look good despite my limited skills, but if you got any suggestions and/or livery ideas, I'm open for them... ;)đź‘Ť

It's OK. I'll toy with the files and see if I can't figure out if there's bits I need.

All I have been doing is exporting it as the TGA file in the folder that has the same name as the PSD, and it was working in carviewer.
