Onboy - have you finished testing yet? If not, stop posting and get to testing.

Alright, 2 tests only, but that's because, as said, family > feedback, so deal with it. :P

Krenkme’s Nomad Diablo GT1- 1:38.981

-Twitchy at the limits, just how I like it, LSD kills chance of extreme oversteer unless it’s in the low speed chicanes.

-Good top end pull from 5th - 6th, but is beaten in terms of acceleration in 2nd - 4th by others

-Toned down (read as- better) version of my NSX in terms of feel, twitchy and unnerving, but won’t do you much harm.

However… for some reason, I’m slower in this car than everyone else is…

Ugabugaz’s Takata NSX ’03- 1:38.513

-Fits me like a glove, no understeer to speak of, a little loose at the limits when exiting some corners but otherwise, perfect.

-Steering response is good, nice and quick, but not so quick that the rest of the car is thrown off balance.

-Gearing is…like the rest of the car, very well done, no real complaints though if I was being picky, I’d say there could be a little bit less shift lag between the lower gears.

Motor City Hami’s Takata NSX ’03- 1:38.248

Ditto the above, but with one difference.

- This NSX is that it feels more natural to drive. Not neutral, natural. It feels more like its road going counterpart, I suppose, and that's good. I was almost getting tired of how the Takata NSXs seemed to latch on to my driving style and perform some quick laps, but feel so soulless and lacking in "feel" in the process. This is fast but fun, a hard trait to get with race cars, I find.

- Gearing "lag" is an issue, but it's nothing big to fuss over, the car doesn't stop dead when changing gears, so I'm just nit-picking again.

Adrenaline’s Takata NSX ’03- 1:37.456
*sigh* I told you so……[/annoying voice]

- Faultless, in a word. Absolutely fantastic to drive. MCH's car and then some. Its messiest lap was on par with the time I set for ugabugaz's car, and the lap in his car was pretty tidy. I can't really say anything about this car…it rotates exactly when I want it to, and points its nose at exactly where I want it to be facing.

It could have set a faster lap, but I hit my 5 laps per car limit. :ouch:

7) trackripper's Supra
Fuji F Time: 1:37.559

Feedback: This car felt broken in a lot of ways. Right off it was by far the slowest clocking only 174 MPH where other cars are 178 MPH +. Through some corners the car feels like it's sorely unhappy about being a car. What I mean by that is it's shaky, jumpy, bouncy..etc. I think some of the dampers may be to blame for this weirdness. Another point of concern are the brakes. In low speed corners they tend to sort of lock up which I found a bit annoying. The last corner and this car also don't seem to like each other very much - I'm still looking for the best line through there with this Supra. (I'm still doing laps).

Very strange you mention that, I never felt it shaking or bouncing around any corners... The transmission maybe, it's out of its torque band by the end of the straight, but I figured faster acceleration out of corners was more important. Granted I'm not completely happy with this tune but I thought it was half decent enough to run in this shootout... Hmm. Thanks for sticking with it 👍

Improved a bit with your car CSL, but I can go even quicker, just haven't been able to on a full lap. Perhaps tomorrow. Down to 1:36.479 - a best composite lap from me would be around 1:36.279 give or take.

Edit: Added a video of my run in Adrenaline's Takata (1:35.888)

- It's #5, video is embedded there.

Trackripper's Castrol TOM'S Supra- 1:38.502

Hate to say it, but Onboy, ---- isn't really feedback. If you're trying to use sign language, yes, I know it's slower in a straight line, but you haven't mentioned any corners :P

Oh shut up you. :P I'm not done yet, I just haven't written anything for yours yet. Also, I need to send out a few FRs later on as well, since I don't want to drive the R35.

Thanks for the drive and review Onboy.👍👍

Think after the Shootout is over I'll take the muzzle off this bad boy, give it a touch more downforce and see what it can really do. Not sure what the real life GT500 rules were when this car was competing but guessing they allowed more HP since all the cars had to be power limited even stock with just an oil change.

i wish my play station didn't chicken out of this shootout. It looks like a good one :)
Currently trying to get my bobs to win the Grand Valley 300 in a 1200 beetle :D

As of now(actually as of last night) I can't get my PS3 to go online for whatever reason. :irked:

I heard the PSN servers were down last night (for you, it was probably 2AM+ for me, so I can't confirm), maybe reset your connection?

Well I have the final tunes I need on paper so I can put them on my own cars to finish testing the GT300's now.
I also have Adrenaline's Takata tune to give that a whirl.

Think I'll start maxing out lap times now and then finish up with the rest of the cars (Grado's and Mine) after that. Desperado I'll do yours last cause it messes up my line and I get confused and such. Low downforce is a bee....:)

Edit: Started with Onboy, Gonna break into 36 I think - with a little effort.

Edit 2: 37.058 with another .198 to chop off and then some. I'll reupload the new Onboy lap once I'm satisfied with how fast I've gone. I'm really liking how loose this car is Onboy - great work. Unlike most of the other cars, which use the brakes for rotation your NSX likes it rough and wants that nasty throttle action for rotation :dopey:

My first ever GT5 stint behind the wheel of the 03 Takata netted a 35.313 earlier for me. :)
34's are definitely possible, but I'm not sure if I have the patience to search for it.

Could you upload the ghost lap replay (So I can load it on my PS3)? I'm curious where you found that extra time - also which tune did you use?

Fantastic time.

Goddamit Slacker…I hate you. You use the car I despise the most and make it one of the best drives in this pack…what the hell kind of sorcery is this?! The damn thing should have killed me! So just bear this in mind, your car is in the Top 5 favourites for me…though however much it pained me to say that, but the "award" doesn't go to the car, but very much to you. Great work mate. 👍 Now just pick a better car.

Now to update the times…and redo ugabugaz car since I just remembered I gave it 3 instead of 5 laps. Give me a moment and I'll be done with my tests.

Hey, hating the street GTR is understandable, but the SGT GTR has the awesomest roar of anything in GT5.

Do #51 and 91 sound the same?
I can't recall what either sounds like, just curious, I'll have to try it out then. :)

By my recollection, yes. Even though I have Stage 3 Engine on 1, and not the other, I remember them sounding the same. BEEFY AS ####

As the deadline approaches, there are some testers that we have not heard from as of yet. Just wondering how everyone was doing. Loving the shootout so far :dopey:

I'm gonna take a few days break - also hoping CSL posts his replay so I can see how to go faster :)
