I really enjoyed that race. It really rewarded consistency and staying out of trouble.
As a quick summary of my own race, I found it quite easy to slip up the inside early on, got into a good battle for a lap or so with 2fast4stig, lost him, had a bit of a battle with CoconutComa for 3rd, got past him, and then settled in for the long shift. Pitted on lap 11, which in hindsight was probably at least one lap too late. Had settled into accepting third, when on lap 18 johnkiller2 must have pitted again and I found myself in second. Was so shocked that I got all shaky and put myself onto the grass, and came back onto the circuit just ahead of johnkiller. Lost the place to him, as he's much faster than I am, but unfortunately on the final lap he appeared to have been involved in an incident with another car and so I overtook and ended up second in GT500 behind 2fast4stig.
Very exciting race, good length, plenty of action. Looking forward to the next one! Congratulations to 2fast4stig on a well deserved class win. Who won the GT300s? I didn't get a chance to look.
I didn't have any problems passing the GT300s when the time came, they stuck to their lines and with the extra power of the GT500 I found it easy to pass clean on the straights. Some of them even backed off I felt which was kind. It's good for the GT300s to let the faster cars past, but only when it's safe to do so. I found myself coming into places like the Esses or Spoon and just backing off behind the leading car because I knew it would likely hurt both of us to attempt a pass. Consideration from both parties, and all the racers I encountered embodied that well.
