Could we get a passing rule? I felt that people were nervous trying to overtake another class. I, myself, felt nervous even trying to get passed a GT300 class in the GT500 car which caused me to spin out a few times.

Letting a differently classed vehicle pass you by would have little to no impact on your overall class standings.

Agreed. Every time I had a GT500 car behind me I tried to get off the racing line and off the gas whenever he was in a passing position.

Fun but a bit frustrating.

All was going well leading until lap 8 with about 12 sec. Then I missjudged a GT300 break point and hitting Posseldorfs rear (apologies). The GT300 do break a bit eariler than the GT500 it seems. Limping to an early pitstop on lap 8.

Managed to regain the lead and was just managing a 11-13 sec lead to 2fast4stig not pushing it. Then at the break point into the chicane on lap 18, a GT300 hit my rear, and I had to pit again.

Redsuinit, is that the insident you are talking about. If so, I'm sorry. I had a punkture and the car was difficult to handle as I was trying to make the pit lane. I was a bit frustrated leading so close to the finish and I didn't look in my mirror at that point.

Congrats to 2fast4Stig. You probably drove a clean race a deserved to win.

I really enjoyed that race. It really rewarded consistency and staying out of trouble.

As a quick summary of my own race, I found it quite easy to slip up the inside early on, got into a good battle for a lap or so with 2fast4stig, lost him, had a bit of a battle with CoconutComa for 3rd, got past him, and then settled in for the long shift. Pitted on lap 11, which in hindsight was probably at least one lap too late. Had settled into accepting third, when on lap 18 johnkiller2 must have pitted again and I found myself in second. Was so shocked that I got all shaky and put myself onto the grass, and came back onto the circuit just ahead of johnkiller. Lost the place to him, as he's much faster than I am, but unfortunately on the final lap he appeared to have been involved in an incident with another car and so I overtook and ended up second in GT500 behind 2fast4stig.

Very exciting race, good length, plenty of action. Looking forward to the next one! Congratulations to 2fast4stig on a well deserved class win. Who won the GT300s? I didn't get a chance to look.

I didn't have any problems passing the GT300s when the time came, they stuck to their lines and with the extra power of the GT500 I found it easy to pass clean on the straights. Some of them even backed off I felt which was kind. It's good for the GT300s to let the faster cars past, but only when it's safe to do so. I found myself coming into places like the Esses or Spoon and just backing off behind the leading car because I knew it would likely hurt both of us to attempt a pass. Consideration from both parties, and all the racers I encountered embodied that well.

Yeah, Poseldorf rear ended you, and I made this awesome pass, going way outside of Poseldorf at the first turn of the chicane, then cutting to the outside of the second turn to go around you and then you drove me off the track. No big though.

Your NSX was wicked fast. You were easily catching up to me in the straights and I just matched your pace when you were behind me. I wanna give up on the SC430! hahaha.

The GT-R's seem to have a distinct advantage compared to the SC430 due to the higher power they have. I'm not sure all this would compare to an NSX with the MR drivetrain, less HP, and more weight than the comparable FR cars.

Seems like there was a ton of incidents. Maybe chat should be on :)

Anyone record the full race?

BTW, where are the stats/finishing order/tables etc?

What was up with the grid btw? We had some GT500s at the back, they can't have qualified that badly, what happened?

Redsuinit, Sorry for that. I remember I also had to look at the car damage indicator and make a quick call if to pit or not. Just too much things going on at the same time and I didn't think of looking in the mirror going for the pit lane.

I think we are just going through a learning thing. I think we in the GT500 are probably responsible for more the mixed class incidents than the GT300. Its difficult to suddenly adjust to a different pace for a couple of corners when being behind a GT300. I think we will learn though.

The NSX also suits my driving style quite well. I also managed to luck into some good settings when I was playing around this morning which didn't make me go much faster but made it a lot more stable and consistent. It let me push the tyres a lot further than I would have been comfortable with stock. Particularly coming out of Spoon, the balance is just right so that I can nail the throttle really early.

What's the power on the SC430 and GTR? I ran the NSX through a few B-Spec races today to try and wear the engine in, it's up to about 505hp after an oil change now.

the sc40 is currently at 504. I hear some people are over 510 on the GTR after break in!

I wanted to run the NSX but I can't seem to tame the monster. lol

My car has 533 hp through quite a few oil changes, so pls set the hp limit so we can race.

Here is another theory. Online doesn't seem to count towards wearage on the car. After I used my car for a bit and oil changes it sat at 523 hp. Then I only used it online and the hp didn't change. Yesterday I needed some credits to do the chassi repair so I used the car in some A-spec races. Then suddenly the hp went up to 533 hp after oil changes.

Not "official", but this is taken from the replay. I guessed the gaps based on what is shown on the last lap (annoying that it times out, rather than let people finish their final lap). But still:

Had to make some adjustments on my setup (hate it when that's not saved after an online room), and by exiting the free ride your time is taken away.
So I settled for a first easy two laps from almost behind, gradually dodge the "spinners" and settled in second place +/- 12 seconds behind Sail-IC. He was the faster racer, but had some troubles on the road. I made no mistake and after his second pitstop I was 15 sec. in the lead and managed to stay on the track for the last laps.

I think the drivers from the Suzuka race are automaticaly invited to proceed to fuji. If someone doesnt want to participate in the next race, send PM to Strittan.

Open slots must be taken by new drivers.

I'm downloading the replay, gonna do the capture/encoding from ps3 to pc today and hopefully tomorrow will choose the best bits to upload to youtube.

Thanks to Chrasher

I had a good battle with Hamilton, Senninha and Poseldorf during the course of the race.

I am no super star by any means but I feel like if i know some etiquette that others should as well.

I had gotten around Hamilton coming from spoon and the tires weren't ready to hold full throttle around the left towards the chicane so i let him round as i was on the off track tarmac. However he blew the braking point and went way into the off track section of the chicane and as I came through the second turn in the chicane he put his whole car on the track and I hit his broadside, i think he was undamaged (great for him) but I was destined for the pits.

So i was in the back with the others from the beginning. And amongst my own frustrations of letting others around (hard to be precise with the controller when making room for somebody) I managed to keep myself there. Perhaps more mixed class practice would have revealed better slowing zones to let the 500 guys around to me, but alas it was a learning experience in this first race.

I am with you 100% on this. If you end up off track, wait until you KNOW that your way is clear before you get back on track.

Coconut, when you caught me in the S's I was going to let you through on the last left, didn't mean to block at all, just trying to get to a good spot to let you by.
