Supercar Festival - Help, tips, information.

Ha, I just trampled this series with my 575 Z06. The only car that gave me any trouble was the ZZII at Mid-field. It troubled me sooo much that I thought I was going to lose the race. I finally passed it during lap 4, and it kept a 1.5 second or less distance behind me. I guess I was a little too gung-ho. I had to use a whole tank of nitrous to suprass it too.

Other than that, I would find myself lapping some of the slower supercars, and keeping a 30 second or more distance infront of the quickest rival supercar. The GT, S7, and Zonda never troubled me. I ran circles around them with ease, especially at New York. Weird...

if you don't want to play fairly, use R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nür, fully modded.. 913 bhp will help you out even on New York.

exactly what I did

do it in A-spec too

makes everything easier

and the Cizeta V16T, well in my opinion, sucks.👎

I still have to do New York, Seoul, and Infineon.

I beat the other two with my SLR (I cheated on Fuji using the shortcut and I blocked the Cien in Midfield) but man do I hate the SLR. It looks awesome and I beat the Silver Arrow Nurb race with it, but when it came to the Supercar Festival its having me go nuts. In its stock form It understeers a LOT and the brakes don't feel too good. I'm going to switch to the GT I guess, I really feel like tuning the SLR>

It's the capital letters filter, he's either typing with cap's lock on or holding down the shift key all the time, the capital letter's filter prevents you typing a post in all cap's, he need's to start typing with only cap's where they're meant to be.

live: ah, didn't know there was one, I saw a thread the other day with some messages in all caps - must have been old. Thanks. So, George, turn the caps lock off. :)

just curious, what's your best a-spec points at NY in this championship?

with my vanilla-power r230* i got 63 (after a couple of attempts, i must admit, the sl 65 is too heavy for this track) whereas all the other races from this championship would normally give me only ~10 points in this car.

* transmission and suspension modded, weight reduction 1, racing brakes and s2 tyres.

Does anyone know a car that will get you 200 points for each race? Maximum I can get is about 150.

Hi Nige, have a look at my Excel file... I think you'll find the answer in there..

AMG.

Hi AMG. will do. The heat we have over here at the moment is affecting the little grey cells. Just not used to it!

I agree
Have any of you got the piggyback guide?
It says it there!👍 u win at tvr blackpool racers

Anyway, I won it yesterday (in B-spec), quite easily.
note: avoid the cadillac CIEN (for some reason "unmodified" doesnt count for everyone else) you can still win it, but its slightly harder.:)

Unmodified, simply means, "non-race/concept". You can actually enter with a fully upgraded 1000hp car (ehem, Pagani) car, but not with a weaker concept like the Cien. Somehow, you can't enter with the Cien, but the Cien can enter as AI. But that Ford GT also has a bonus of an attachable spoiler (not many supercars can have it), as well as 20 downforce-points extra on the rear (bacause of those diffusors). Both me and B-spec Bob had absolutely no problem with this car.

I did a 140 point (I think...maybe more...) race on Fuji 90's with my 500 hp Mustang GT. Mods were full weight reduction, supercharger, sports exhaust, full custom suspension, port polish, racing chip, carbon driveshaft, and engine balancing (on stock S2's with no aids...mine is black with Bentley Speed 8 rims).

Wheelspin all the way through 3rd gear and a standing start from the back of the pack left me eating their dust, but I took the lead at the beginning of the 3rd lap (made a great 1-2 pass while braking at the end of the straight) and only had it threatened once (by the Cien), because of an off-road excursion I decided to take on the final turn of the 5th lap. I did block the Cien a couple times on the last lap (most notably at the finish line :P ), but it deserved it. At one point in the race, it tried to dive into a turn and use me as a brake, among other things (including the fact that it doesn't even belong in the race to begin with).

200 points is not that hard if you have tuned the car.
There is a trick you can use in these races.
Tune your car to + 500 horsepower for entry conditions.
Once you have entered you can go to the settings screen and decrease your horsepower to what you need for 200 points.
It is easier than adding ballast or using N tires.

Heh, I tried the "Trick" it works well, but I tend to take off too much HP. Most of the time I just put a lower level turbo/NA tuning. It works all the time 👍

Thanks for the help Uncle Harry!!

Well my Z06 smoked them. I think I overprepared after reading the first couple pages of this thread. 640hp smoked just about every race. I had one fairly close one with a Zonda and a decent race of 'catch-up' with the W12 after a very ugly 1st lap at Seoul. But it was a piece of cake compared to that #$&!@@$%$ Tuner Championship! where's the thread for that so I can vent?!?!

I used my Lotus Esprit V8 Turbo. With the modifications I have done, it still allowed me entry. It's currently sitting at about 848BHP and about 870NM of Torque. This car absolutely obliterates everything. In the Seoul race I lapped someone. The final race (Infineon) proved really troublesome however. The Cadillac Cien kept on my tail, including a fair bit of ramming, and would always take me after about 3 laps due to tyre wear. I had to revamp my entire suspension setup to minimise this but still maintain the speed and power that I like about the Esprit. anyway, yep...

Funny story there, on my last race, also at Infineon, I was desperately trying to catch and pass the Cien, then, through the last turn we were side by side and I crossed the line .3xx infront of him, I thrust my left hand in the air in victory with my heart racing! Then suddenly the screen was blurring and I realised for some reason my Vette smacked the wall!?? And that's when the Cien blew past me and I realised I had just finished lap 5 of 6!!!! LOL I managed to catch back up because he got wide and in the dirt about halfway around. Boy did I feel like an idiot LOL

I just did this one. I started the game over to build up credits for the cars on day 694. I used the Yellow Bird I won in the boxer race. I stuck a new transmission in it, did the port polish and engine balancing to bring it above the 493 minimum or whatever it is, and threw some S2 tires on it, for better endurance then the s3's (didn't really have a problem until the last race).

It is a really sweet ride for these races.

You have to brake in the 'bird really early but you make up for it by throttling up through the turns and spinning the back end around. I found the car hard to control without the aids on, so to be less of a pansy I turned them all down to 5.
