Supercar Festival - Help, tips, information.

I tune my RX7 spirit to the MAX with 641 HP, and i run on B-spec, and won pretty easily. But for some track like the NY one, i had to drive myself.

Maybe not a very popular choice but hell I picked up a Subaru Impreza WRX STi SpecC '04 to run in this series. With around 515hp I just creamed the competition like it was nothing. The Cadillac Cien was most of the time 15+ secs back, then after even further were the Saleen S7 and the Ford GT '05. All played in A-Spec. :sly:

I've unlocked two Paganis so far. A thing about me is that when it comes to finding new cars that can be bought and unlocked for Arcade Mode, I feel like a little girl at the mall- ready to shop. That 600K Cr. Zonda looks and performs the part of a pure badass. If you want Italian exotics, Pagani is a great pickup. In GT3, I criticized the Zonda for not sounding like it means business. Speaking of the Zondas, I truly despised the Italian Avantgarde event. Even with my 1,000+ hp Zonda S, I still couldn't shake off the other five Zonda race cars. I had to play dirty to win.

Then you had that License Test in GT3 with the Zonda with the high-speed cornering test at Rome Circuit. There are all sorts of ways to win the five Supercar Festival races. Just remember, if you have a Concept, Tuner, or Racing car, you will not be able to race the series. If you have Racing Tires, you'll need Standard or Sports Tires. Last but not least, you'll need 493hp or more. I usually shy away from Standard Tires because they really have no grip. They are better suited for events like "1000 Miles!". I guess one element is tires, the other is suspension. When I practiced for this series, I did Midfield Raceway Reverse (one of the Supercar Festival events). Where I started off at, the brakes would work fine, just that it was a b**ch trying to corner with it. It was almost as if my car was better suited for drag racing than road racing. As I stated before, when I did the license tests, the Jaguar XJ220 and Saleen S7 really had disappointing handling. Keep in mind, you're given whatever setup it initially has, then you're riding on Comfort tires front and rear. It makes a difficult task a bit harder. My one concern has been handling. When I get back to GT4, I'll look for any such combination to work for Supercar Festival. Only supercar (as in 493hp or more) that wasn't really disappointing was the Dodge Viper SRT10 with its 500hp torque-heavy engine.

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about, is 2nd really short or something?
The S7 has a very long 1st gear so that it can reach 60mph without shifting, and Saleen can quote a shorter 0-60 time.

1st gear in the saleen s7 is quite long and 2nd is short.

hmm... running it tomorow morn. my viper should blitz em :)
gah!
well i have one more goldie than previous... but thats only 2. :nervous:

manages some 2nds but b-spec robert (:P) seems to go really well then crash out on the penultimate lap placing him a few seconds down fromthe leader. I'll try some more settings its not a real worry.

the NY race is a real bugger tho. I'll a-spec this one as i am sure i can do better than the b-spec robert....

I'll keep the updates coming on this.

oh the car is a 800 odd Kw Viper GTs with race brakes, semi race springs, soft sport tires, race pipes, the highest NA tune race flywheel... think thats about it... oh and downforce 👍

Ving - if the New York race is in the same direction as the endurance then the B-Spec strategy that works for me is as follows (numbers are speed rating for Bob):

Main straight 5, hairpin 4 or 3, shorter straight 5 but get down to 1 before the right hand corner, 4 until start of main straight then back up to 5.

May need to adjust brake strength to ensure max brake power without lockup.

Also with that car I would propose slightly longer gears than needed for the main straight

gah! that means a gearbox up-grade gumpy! oh well...

thanks for the advice mate :)

You may not need it but if you try the rest of the strategy and come close then try the gears.

I have not put a lot of miles on my Fiat but I have on my Citroen C3. I am trying to use that for A-spec points and more prize car colours in the earlier races.

your using your c3 in the supercar races?
you re crazy! :P

must get a c3... I am after all a citroen fan.
shame they didnt put the BX in the game tho :(

Not super car races - not yet.

At the moment it has no upgrades. I want to see what I can win with it.

probably not much gumpy, its just a little car :)

My last GT3 attempts were to win as much as possible with Mazda's (remember the Demio). In the end I didn't follow through too far with that.

Maybe I should do all Citroen's or maybe French cars and see how far I can go.

LMAO!!

just generally speaking :)

I currently have 5 projects running - I choose which one to work on depending on the time I have and the concentration level I think I am up for:

1. Licenses - Currently 3 S licenses left to silver, 3 A licenses left to gold and most IB and IA left to gold. Do these when have small amounts of time where I can concentrate.
2. Missions - have 7 3 lappers and the famous M34 to do - need more time plus concentrate for this
3. New York enduro over and over again to get all 29 colours of the charger - currently on about 20 - do 1-2 a night including 1 over night and 1-2 in the morning.
4. Nurb 24 hour + Le Mans I 24 hour to get the second coloured Audi R8 and the F1s. I know you can buy the Audi but my view is if I win it then I get 1.2mill credits or I get to sell one and get close to 3mill. Overnight Friday and Sat nights with 3x as much as possible.
5. Other prize car colours - this will include the supercar race and I know the Pagani Zonda 7.3 will be my B-Spec car for this one. A-Spec ? Maybe the SLR as I want to get used to that car before attmepting to learn the Nurb properly.

edit: I might even learn how to spell too

The funny thing is my first complete laps in the licenses at the Nurb were bronze (only missing silver by less than a second).

Since then I seem to have got worse at that track. I have silvered the pace car lap since then but that doesn't count. No pace car and I am screwed at that track.

I tried to A-spec the F1s there but to no avail.

If M34 is that last thing I do I won't just take the SLR there - Citroens, Fiats etc

i silvered the pace car lap too (it was my first succesful lap as I kept crashing out or running into the pace car... I actually found the pace car to be a hinderance alot.

good luck to you sir!

I thought we were talking supercars like the Citroen.

Anyway back on topic has anyone tried the Audi LeMans Quattro in the supercar series. I will be trying it tonight in the Nurb 24 hour and I thought it might challenge the supercars as well.

You can't use the LeMans Quattro as it is a concept car. As for me, I used the Yellow Bird with the highest exhaust as well as a chip and blew the field away, except for Midfield, which was close to the end (damn ZZII). For awhile, I was baffled that more people weren't doing this, as it is very cost efficient: buy a used '99 WRX, win the Super Touring Car at the dealership, win the Yellow Bird at Boxer Race, then spend 10,000 on tuning. And then I realized that a lot of people have trouble driving RR cars!! Silly me...anyway, in order to drive this car, remember to be very light on the steering in fast sections, as the car will carry itself through most fast and intermediate turns.

Edit: And YES!, it would dominate if it were eligible! Must try and use that somewhere, maybe at Suzuka 1000. If I'm not mistaken, that race has road cars. Or is it the Motegi 9H? :boggled:

Speed 12 for high speed races, (rolling start)- as i have 1182 bhp and it just skids everywhere even in a straight line, and i used my gt40 (130,000Cr) fully tuned, but for races like new york you need control wich gtr40 dont have so i used slr maclaren and i won by miles, zzii came sec.

It seems like most people used either the Saleen S7 or the Ford GT for this series, I bought both of these cars and won a race in the series with each of them before I realized how much I hated them, both of them handle like they have no steering wheel.

It's not too hard to win the series with the S7 or the GT, but I just found that the Mercades McLaren worked better than either of the more popular alternatives.

The Mercades can win the championship stock, and if that gives you trouble, just give it a NA tune up, and it should easily win.

I like the Yellowbird for it.

Hell, I bet a Ruf RGT with a little tuning would be even easier.

I have no trouble with RR cars, I just don't like the Torque Curve on the Yellowbird, and the RGT is N/A...

Tried with a fully-lightened and tuned AMG SL65... did okay on a couple tracks but hampered in places like New York with no grip. Tried again with a fully-tuned Lotus Esprit V8... spent hours doing laps working on the suspension but again, no grip and braking distances up near half-a-straightaway. Gave up on the Lotus after the AI cars kept punting me into the walls at New York. Bought an' 05 BMW M5, lightened it, and handily skunked the series. :)

So, what does the M5 have that enables it to grip, turn, brake, etc on sticky street tires that the Lotus doesn't? Lotus is lighter, has slightly better balance, much lower center of gravity, etc... why no grip?
