In race trim Heat is doing i think 1:51.8's and im in the 1:52's with the Merc...

Is anyone online and can post up the top ten racers. i must admit its not summat ive even looked at...

J

Well I felt the 3 mentioned cars were pretty even, but I've never tried them back to back in a fast track like Mugello, I did a few quick races with them in Varano and Magionne and thought they had similar performaces...I feel the cars that are really faster are the BMWs and the AMG.My best lap at Mugello online so far ,in the E92 I think, was 1;49,xx but the faster guys like Derek and da78co manage to drop to 1;48,xx or even 1;47:scared:

Oh,is it only me or the handling of the cars feels slightly different from ofline to online mode? Online they seem looser...maybe it's just me.:dopey:

Aevore i think this is because in offline mode the cars are "Set Up" to a certain dergree and have different tyres on.

In online mode the cars are STD with either medium slicks or wets.

in offline im 4 seconds faster round imola than online....

Yesterday night you were at ten place J.👍:)

Hmm, I had a faint memory image, that usually after the race fastest lap times have been around 1'5x.xxx, but I guess I was wrong. Of course drafting might play part in the sick quick times.. Anyway, nice to know that if I drive a fast lap in a race with Maserati, I'm about 5 sec slower :ill:

Edit: okeh, thanks J, my memory is still working correctly!

I haven't driven offline enough to draw a definite verdict, but I haven't noticed big differences with the same options. Default setup, tyre wear and so on. But for example in time attack cars are much grippier and times are a lot faster than in a race. Even with the default setup.

In Time Attack I've done a 1'48.192 online and a 1'48.109 offline. Both these times were set with the Qualification preset. The fastest I've done in an online race (default setup) was a 1'49.9 something but it was done in a race with tyre wear off (not my choice). I did a 1'50.1 with tyre wear on (2nd lap I presume).

da78co holds the outright lap record with a 1'47.5. Again this was done in qualifying trim. Something to aim at!

Edit: Sorry it's Ditte59 that holds the outright record.

The top 10 is as follows:

1. Ditte59 - M3 E92 - 1'47.592
2. racedome - Merc - 1'47.625
3. onepueblo - M5 - 1'47.859
4. da78co - M5 - 1'48.059
5. paesedeybalocchi - M3 E92 - 1'48.175
6. Me - 550i - 1'48.192
7. zeligata - M3 E92 - 1'48.525
8. V1PER-R - M3 E92 - 1'48.625
9. tessiok - Jaaaaag - 1'48.825
10. superflash27 - M3 E92 - 1'48.859

Just a quick note on the Elo RATING guys. it seems its the same system FIFA use to rank football teams.

Im not entirely sure on the values it uses, i can however say that it uses an intial variable which is changed by the criteria shown in the screen along with the elo points.

So it basically averages you out..... for example

you have done the following
races = 10
wins = 10
second = 0
third = 0
penallties = 20

Its saying that your rating is assuming you WILL win the race your in and will have 2 penalties in the race.

If you have zero penalties your elo rating will go up albeit slightly because you have IMPROVED on YOUR average..... likewise with the victories seconds etc....

Therefore its not how many races you win, its how you perform against your own average.

This means if your already quite good, the chances of improving are small, but likewise after a prolonged period of being good, you would need to perform BADLY on a lot of races for it to have a significant effect.

The elo rating is basically showing you who consistently performs well.

J

EDIT, any chance of the top 10 elo point heat ??

2ND EDIT, Also the lap tiems dont tell you what driving aids they had on...!!

Hmm, I just drove 1'47.542 in offline time attack with the M5 :odd: Is it easier in offline mode? More grip or something.

Don't think so Vompatti. As you can see in my previous post my online and offline times are very close. That's a brilliant lap and confirms my suspicions as to how fast you would be when you dragged yourself out of that, admittedly beautiful, Maserati!

Jizzy, the current player ratings are as follows:

1. da78co - 1457
2. Me - 1416
3. racedome - 1394
4. Xillino-PaXiTeam - 1369
5. cilia46 - 1357
6. Streetfighter_Z - 1356
7. Femax75 - 1337
8. arvore - 1334
9. zeligata - 1324
10 Bigjizzy- - 1316

Vompatti's the man! 👍

We just did an online time attack at Mugello and he blitzed me with a lap record time. He was in the M5 and I think it was a 1'47.475

We'll have to lock him back into the Maser!!

Edit: I just couldn't leave it there. So I went out I went again offline and I changed from my usual mount over to the M5. Lo and behold, I surprised myself and did a 1'47.408. We'll have to do a rematch online Vompatti!

I really didn't think I could squeeze much more out of the 550i. I had been close to Vompatti at the crucial last left hand turn but the M5 has that bit of extra grunt to pull away on the straight.

It's interesting that this time was over 1/2 a second quicker than my previous best wheras when I did the original experiment to see which car was quickest around Mugello I was 1/2 a second slower in the M5 than I was in the 550i.

Thanks mate! Though I think that the M5 is faster in Mugello than 550i that you were driving. And thanks again for joining with me, if I've understood correctly, in online even Time-attack is impossible to do alone.

Okeh, let's see if I get these corners right. On that lap coming out from Poggio Secco and Borgo San Lorenzo I drove so wide, that I had to use that solid green stuff that is there after kerbs. I don't know if that is "legal". Bad parts in that lap were Borgo San Lorenzo where I didn't hit the apex and coming to the Arrabbiata1 where I had a bad line and had to do some braking. Also I lifted in the second Arrabbiata even though I noticed later that it can be driven flat out. Good parts were San Donato&Luco and also Scarperia&Palagio combinations so that on later laps even though I was sometimes in front of my best lap, I always lost on those places so that I ended up about 0,1 sec behind. I used qualification setup.

Edit regarding heat's edit: hehe, thought so that the M5 is quicker around there! Nice time!

Cheers Vompatti. It is a pain that you have to hook up with somebody before you can try to post a time on the leaderboard. With SCC your quick laps will be posted no matter whether you are in single or multiplayer or whether it's in a race or a time attack. It would be nice to be able to just sit down at your own time and just concentrate on the track. I had your ghost to deal with and, like yourself, in some places I was quicker and in others your car would pull away and overall I found it a bit distracting. Can the ghost be turned off? I suspect not.

I used the qualification setup also and like yours the lap wasn't perfect so I'm sure there's room for some improvement. We'll do it again. Good stuff.

Btw, do I take it you might now be divorcing your beloved Maser?

Oh, I thought that you would have your own ghost there. That's interesting, didn't know that. For me the ghost wasn't so irritating, because it was the same make&model. But I know what you mean, driving against Merc ghost for example is terrible. It's always there in the first corner hiding your braking mark.

I haven't found an option to turn ghost off in offline, BUT I went to pits during our session and in the standings screen or something like that, there was possibility to uncheck the box where it said show ghost or something similar. I didn't try it but I think it's possible online 👍 That's definitely a good thing but it's weird that it can't be done offline.

Yeah, I agree. Maybe already with the Extreme setup for engine management it's possible to drop some time off. With other setup changes too.

We'll do it again. But I warn you, I'm not a good hotlapper. I'm too impatient for that. If A) I don't improve my personal best in 10 laps, or B) Improvements change from tenths to hundredths = I get bored :D

Btw, do I take it you might now be divorcing your beloved Maser?

Hmm, not necessary. It's not like I didn't already know it's slow. I'm a bit into Italian cars but there is also that I usually don't like to take the most common choice. If I'll change car, I'll probably go towards Chevrolet, Chrysler ( :indiff: ) or Jaaaag. There's enough BMW's on the row already. But if there would be 10 Maserati's on the row, then I might go towards BMW! Yes, I'm a bit weirdo.

It's that I love good 1vs1 battles, it doesn't matter that much to me if it's about 1st or 7th place as long as I have fun. So far I've had those even with Maserati. So we'll see how things develop, if I'm always alone in the back with Maser, then I might have to divorce her. (And if I would drive another car, what would be my excuse then if race wouldn't go well, lol)

Does this game still has that horrible save checking and saving like in the first game wich took ages to do?

thanks for hosting for a bit bigjizzy, had a couple of close races last nite fighting for the last few places. not moaning but i feel there's a lot of shunting lately, i know as i drive with bonnet cam driving through bends it's impossible to "look behind" so it's easy to cut accross someone who's coming up the inside and contact will be made (rear view mirror req'd) but the amount of rear end shunting and rubbing was a bit heavy to the point it's easier to lift of the gas and let it all pass by as I'm not lightly to win anyway, and do a bit of Sunday driving. look forward to a few more races with the few who race with grace. i liked the sound of that "race with grace"

Hi stickler we had some corking battles last night, all clean marginal bumping and rubbing , certainly well within acceptable levels.

I dont think we need to moan any more about the cheats, they know who they are.........

Its just more frustrating that they are gtp'ers is all.

The group chat was a good idea guys, helps with the ****** comms. Sorry it fell apart, my internets fell down again, Bloody virgin are doing maintenece atm :(

Had a quick go with Arvore on time trial on mugello. best time was 1:49.110 but i did figure out im definately in the 1:47's if i hcan hook up a good lap. without mistakes..... :(

Great race on Mugello last night with some of you guys. i even beat heat, with outright pace. he must have been smoking and drinking at the same time as driving :) :)

it still makes me smile how much you need to look after your tyres :) 3 hot laps on mugello and the last two with BRIGHT RED rear tyres LOL...

Oh and yeah following redgate in the Jaaaaaag was making me laugh too much to pass. it should be in WRC colours :) :) :) :)

Oh and finally on portimau, what a race. took a hit on corner 2 lap 1, from god knows where put REALLY hard, enough to spear me into sticker side on and then send me accross the corner getting a penalty whilst going backwards LOL........

Managed to get it going again and fought my way up to 4th behind a battle, next minute the corner gos left and heat is going right, (I dont think it was bad driving LOL), so i gets up to the battle for 1st. MHM66 in his Audi going defensive so i stay out right for a left hander, next second MHM passes me sideways all 4 wheels locked, (trip to the kitty litter)and a beamer goes striaght on, so fast i doubt he was even on the brakes...... Perhaps that was what MHM was for LOL :)

somehow ended up winning it (shrugs shoulders)

I know its not funny, but it was from where i was....

hi everyone! some good races / time attack and a funny chat 12 hours ago with turnupdaheat, hairy-dave, arvore and someone else i don't remember the name (sorry..!..). then i have to say thank you, BigJizzy, cause you wrote: "da78co - clean 90% of the time",it's my first online racing game so i have to improve myself becoming even faster (if i can..) but mainly cleaning my guide style...i'm trying...

"Oh and yeah following redgate in the Jaaaaaag was making me laugh too much to pass. it should be in WRC colours"
LOL :)

Gutted we got dissconected last night was in 2nd place in the jaaag and ready to line up arvore for a particularly caddish overtake, window down shouting jaaag already planned.:sly:

Completly off topic....but thats not unusual for me eh bretherin...... Here's myself Bigjizzy and Wigsbow (MAG GTP Clan) just doing the prep for next weekends Airsoft / team building day. Tested the new "remote deternators" to great effect and the new smoke's we've just sourced. Quick video of the smoke system and a Mk 9 for effect......Neil was very upset about us using his caravan but we compensated him with some flash bangs LOL

Yeah we were having a great battle with our "outsiders" cars and doing surprisingly well in Vallelunga,I think, and suddenly 🤬 lobby colapsed :nervous: a little bit annoying...but I considered it like a mechanical failure.:)

how do i get the S license evaluation? i have completed all the license test although mostly with a C grade.

I was checking out the prizes area and i could not get the "graduation diploma" because i had to have a S license evaluation.

You have to be fast,lol.:)👍

Now seriously S evaluation depends in how faster then the standard challenge you're...mostly 9 seconds faster then the standard time I think, you just have to try harder...👍

i thought i was :)

so all As on the All the challenges would get an S or should I focus on a specific challenge?

"so all As on the All the challenges would get an S or should I focus on a specific challenge?"

Each test has 4 ranks C,B,A & S. An S rank is any where from about 3-9 seconds faster than an A.
Hope this helps. 👍

:ouch: DOH! I feel like such an idiot! I finally got around to doing the evaluations over the weekend. It's a little tough the first time around when you're doing it on tracks where you've never raced and don't know the lines or braking points. I think I had a few A's a few B's, maybe one C and about two 'S' scores in there. I had no idea what the S score was but assumed it was simply 'Satisfactory' and a passing grade without being anything special. So on those events I rated an S, I went back and tried them again. And again. And AGAIN! And was getting so angry that no matter how hard I tried I couldn't do any better than 'S'. And was thinking 🤬!!! This is ridiculous, I'm never going to be competitive in this game.

 I need to get out more.

Hey Jef.
These cars are way deferent to SCC the 2 games have way opposite physic's. The cars in V8SS have the best differential and gearbox. The drag reduction caused by the differential is for superior than that of SCC. This alows you to brake later.
SCC is still fantastic in it's own unique way, more skill pays for fast times in SCC i guess.
Try brake a little later good luck. Your fast bro.
