Good news and bad news from me.

Good news = GME has relocated....sort-of. The family has moved but I'm still here, I vacate this house tomorrow and stay in Sydney for 2 more weeks.

Bad news = My wife has taken the TCv5 tunes with her!! She knew about it and must've thought I needed to take it with me, but now I'm stuck in Sydney and she's 1500km's away with the setup's.

So I may be out of the competition as I don't have the specs of any of the cars on me. That's only MAY....she might know them and can tell me over the phone, then you're all back in trouble. Also, my judging will be later than the others as a consequence of the relocating. But I WILL judge all categories. 👍

Also: you gotta change some parts for the RX8 you entered in the TCV5. It says "Stage 3 tubo" (<-mispelled...it's supposed to be turbo with an r), but then it also says "300 hp". That can't be right...a Stage 3 turbo would garner way more power than that. Am I wrong? I'm not home yet so I can't check for sure. If I'm right, make sure you re-edit that post with the correct list of parts. Thank you.

All the rules are on the first page of the TCV5 thread. Basically, your car has to fall within certain weight & power guidelines.

Take your car's horsepower, and divide it by its weight. Here's the formula (yes, you have to do a little math).

power / weight= x.xx

This gives you a number called "power to weight ratio". For the middle weight class, it looks like this:

1051-1300Kg with a 375hp limit. (WPR between 2.803 & 3.467)

>In other words, your car must be somewhere between 1,051 and 1,300 kg for the middleweight class.

>It cannot have over 375 horsepower.

>It cannot have a power/weight ratio lower than 2.803, or higher than 3.467

>It must also have S3 tires, but any other parts are pretty much okay, I believe..

I believe your RX8 should be fine once you figure out its proper power/weight ratio, but the BP Falken RX-7 (which is basically a race car) must be pre-approved by mafia boy. Any "special" cars like tuners and such must be pre-approved.

I"m not sure if the BP will be acceptable since it has what we call "race livery" (in effect, a racing kit is already installed). But mafia boy will make the final call on this...

Back to topic. My tunes are up with my wife for sure, she found some of the other stuff around up at the new place. So hopefully I'll get something in by July 1.

Apart from that, today's my last day online for a while as I'll basically be scouring for more money to get myself up there with my car and everything's getting disconnected here today.

Well, I personally wanna see what the new guy can come up with...the more the merrier and all that. He DID apologize profusely But I'm not sure the BP Falken is truely appropriate. It's your call.

Hey is it my imagination or is the Middle Weight BATTLE MONSTER (EVO VI) quite the pig when compared to the Lightweight (S2000)? I tried and tried, but despite the fact that the Evo has over 100 hp more, I couldn't beat my Lightweight battle lap time.

You must be better with your lightweight car. 👍 But still, don't worry too much....if you got a slower time then so be it. Just base the scoring off your times with the BM's and don't worry about trying to match the others.

Believe me, it took a lot of laps to get my 1.27.8, it's such a pig in handling I felt I was losing a lifetime in the curves.

As for newboy......I wouldn't be as annoyed but the 1/4 mile comments he's made and done in there and here reaffirm my standing. I'll let it go if the other three judges want it in, but ALL of the other judges must want it in, not 2 of us.....otherwise I'm going to be stubborn on this to set an example of why you don't annoy certain people.

Wow, I need to get out more, I made a 1'26.9 with it... and yeah, the lightweight car is insanely fast for its class. I got a 1'27.493 which is a pretty harsh benchmark time for (some of) the other cars. Anyway, i've decided on a heavyweight, all I need to do now is control the bloody wheelspin... and I've almost finished my supercar entry, but I'm not too happy with it under braking

You got 1:26.9xx in the Evo VI battle monster car? With default settings? You know we're supposed to drive the Battle Monster completely default, right?

That's what I'm thinking too with the S2K now....you're 1.6sec faster than me Macca with that car. Are you running everything default (except aids at 0) and have no added downforce?? If so, bravo good sir, you are a better driver than I.

That, and the fact I suck at Motegi.

I reckon it's good that the judges do have varying levels of pace too because we can give varying opinions from our various driving styles. So although Macca might be the harshest when it comes to the laptime scoring, once again it won't reflect the whole picture, that's why we have the various areas of scoring in place.

But it is funny seeing everyone concentrate on 20% of the scoring.

Edit: Cool I got the Middle battle monster down to 1:27.878, so I managed to beat my Light Battle Monster. VTiRoj's NSX still creams 1:27.878 by several seconds, but it'll have to do.
